    Not special

This washer fit into a closet space where the newer, and larger front loaders would not. However, I think it is harder on clothes than a front loader. There is no agitator so the action is caused by swishing the clothes against each other in a rather harsh way. This causes a lot more lint than a front loader where the clothes tumble over each other. Unlike the older top loaders with an agitator to churn the clothes from the top of the washer to the bottom through the column of water these stay in one place and swish back and forth. I would not buy it again. It was the only model that fit in my location, unfortunately. Clothes seem clean but twice the lint of front loader and lint clinging to some of the clothes. More lint in dryer because of this style washing.

Love my washer. It runs a little louder than my previous washer but it's in the basement so I don't mind. Cleans clothes well

    Direct Drive Washer

This is my first washer with direct drive. I stood and watched it and was mesmerized by how little water it uses. Doesn't seem like enough to get the clothes clean, but they do come out clean. So far so good and not bad at all for the price.

Finally! A large-capacity machine, that actually can easily wash the light, but very bulky, comforters, sheets, etc. There is no agitator...machine makes decisions on water use, etc, by the weight of the load. I love it!

    Easy Washer to use.

I needed a simple to operate clothes washing machine for a senior citizen to be able to use that was similar to their 40 year old machine. I like the simple one (START) button to press without having to set any other dials. We both like the window on the lid and it seems to do a great job washing the clothes. I would have given it 5 stars but when the washer was delivered the safety switch for the lid was not fully installed and the washer did not operate. After I installed the switch, it worked.

This washer replaced a previous Maytag washer. I am happy with this washer. It is efficient on water use and can handle larger loads. I prefer top loaders instead of the front loaders for washing machines. Easy to clean.

I wanted a top load washer without a lot of frills. I just need it to clean my clothes well and can do large loads. This is perfect. The only thing I wish it had was a timer so I would know how long the load will take.

I love my new washing machine...the only thing is I still can't get use to not having the thing that is suppose to be in the middle of the machine to help wash the clothes......so far they seem to be coming out clean... but really can't see how with using so little water....takes about an hour to do a load of clothes,, not as fast as my old machine.....love how large the tub is...but again don't know how it washes with so little water.....I guess I'll get use to it sooner or later I hope....

The jury is still out on this product but thus far I have found it acceptable. If I had the space, I would definitely have gone for a front loader. I believe they are more efficient and effective. However, due to space limitations, I was left with few choices. In my short time using this machine, I have decided that using the "deep water wash" provides sufficient water for a proper agitation of the close to take place. Also, I have discovered that unless clothes are put in the machine properly they will not get drawn into the agitation process. In fact, I found clothes can get tangled and those clothes simply do not washed properly. Example: I had originally laid a number of pants around the outside of the tub. After putting in a few shirts, I started the wash cycle using the "deep water wash". Despite the extra water, I watched some clothes being pulled around the outside but never being drawn under the water. I opened the lid, separated the clothes, closed the lid and then it began to wash as I expected. The point is, until you get use to how to place the clothes in the machine, don't simply put in your clothes and walk away.

    Burn Smell

I bought this washer after my 4 year old Samsung washer started leaking water. After about 2 weeks with the Maytag, we smelled a burn smell and the washer showed that the wash was competed. There was a lot of foam inside of the washer on top of the clothes, yet the wash was complete. Then it happened again a few washes later.

    Modern Low Water Top Loader

I like the push-button start (just like my new car!). I like that it uses much less water than the old, traditional top-loading washing machine. It uses so much less water that it seems like it can't possibly be washing and rinsing very well with that little bit of water! But I guess it does. So far, I haven't noticed any problem with clothes still looking dirty or feeling itchy because of left in detergent. I'm expecting my water bill to be significantly lower!

Big basket and quiet operation. Simple to use ROTARY dials are wonderful. So glad we eschewed electronic gimmicky. Only issue is we tend to use too much powdered detergent.

I made the mistake of not reading the reviews until after I purchased the washer, but this turned out to be a good thing. What initially attracted me to the appliance was the name brand and the sales price. The deal was too good to pass up, so I made the purchase. It wasn't until I got home that I decided to read the reviews, and I was devastated as I read one bad review after another. I've owned the washer for over a month now and all I can say is that every single bad review I read was totally wrong. If you read the manual, which is a relatively short, easy read, you won't have any problems at all. I am really happy I made this purchase and would recommend it to my friends.

I have to use deep water setting or all clothes aren’t washed well. Sometimes if I’m washing blankets I have to do an extra drain and spin After adjusting the load for balance. It works really well for blankets Which is what I needed. The price was lower than other similar washers So I could afford it. I bought a warranty for my strange washer And I do like it.
