Basic, functional & priced right
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am posting in appreciation of other reviewers whose information has helped me to make the decision to go with this model. If you are, like me, someone who prefers the minimalist approach in appliances, this one is for you. Mine replaced a 40-year old Whirlpool unit that was still going strong but the drum was getting rusty. This one is almost exactly like that, but with a light inside and an end-of-cycle buzzer, two features that I wasn't looking for but am now glad to have. The noise is less and the clothes come out softer (even though I use the same softener as with the old dryer). The only thing that I would have liked is a hinged lid for the lint filter slot as on my old Whirlpool, so that the slot can be safely covered while the filter is being cleaned -- but that's a small ding and easily remedied with a piece of cardboard on hand. Unlike a more expensive model MEDX655DW, this unit has these virtues: no digital controls; top of the dryer is flat; the door can be opened in the midst of a cycle. Simplicity = less chance of breaking down. And, it works!
