Don't be so emotionally attached to other games!!!

Medal of Honor is awesome, great gameplay in single player and multiplayer. I agree that the single player is a little too scripted but it keeps the game focused. I wrote that "people don't need to be so emotionally attached to other games" because many reviews that are written are comparisons and not actual reviews of the game itself. If you play Medal of Honor not comapring it to COD or others then you get the full feel of the game. They Muslim enemies are realistic and there is a great scene of a supposed captive that actually has a bomb attached to him and he blows himself up. I love the game and actually got it on sale for like $35 bucks on Black Friday and usually will never pay full price for any game so I say it's defeinately worth the money I spent!

    Disappointment

This game was nothing special, it was a ok campaign mode but multiplayer fell short. The creators need to go back to the drawing broad on the multiplayer. This game has little customization in the multiplayer which is what a lot of people like in first person shooters. The weapons were unrealistic and boring. To be coming out within a month of Black Ops this game fell extremely short to any Call of Duty. And let’s face it as first person shooters go now if you can't come close to challenging the Call of Duty franchise than don't even try.

Let's face it. Overall, no other shooter out there is like black ops. But, this game comes close, and the campaign is probably just as good. If you are more of a campaign type player, this game is for you. All the controls are the same as cod so you don't have to go remembering different buttons which is great if you play them both. Overall I really like this game. I had my doubts when buying it because of the reviews, but I am pretty unbiased compared to the cod clans. If you are into shooters, you will like this game.

This game is junk. Main Points: The graphics look like they belong on PS2, the sound is awful, the weapons have no uniqueness, the campaign is ridiculously short (makes MW2 look huge), the multiplayer maps are just squares with different buildings in them, the multiplayer matching system is stupid, and the respawn system is stupid (makes MW2 look genius). Specifics: EA really blew it on this one. They were in a position to throw some healthy competition at Call of Duty, and what did they come out with? Something that only serves to grow our hunger for Black Ops. This game is bush league. Campaign mode would be fun if the designers made sure we could hear the dialogue by default. A quarter of the way through the first level and I still had no idea what I was doing, I was just going along with it, shooting anyone who was hollering in Arabic. The game is entirely too reliant on scripted sequences triggering the level becoming accessible, more than once I had to start a whole mission over again just to get my NPC teammates to open a stupid door so I could move on. Did I mention the graphics were horrible? The reload animation looks like Raiden from MGS2 when you reload in 1st person mode, it's that primitive. There's no fluidity to the game. The same can be said for multiplayer. This game looks and feels more like Counter-Strike than a modern FPS. Automatic rifles have almost no recoil, unless you've got a scope attached. Apparently the weight of the scope causes more recoil. The level advancement system is very poorly done as well. It takes much too long to unlock the various upgrades to the basic character classes. The matchmaking system is horrible. I've routinely been thrown into servers against players who are several ranks above me, an therefore have unlocked many, many more effective attachments and weapons, clearly giving them a huge advantage. And lastly, the respawn system is great if your team is doing well, but is death if your team is being slaughtered, You respawn near your teammates, so if they are backed into a corner, guess where you're going to spawn? Yep, right in the corner with them. And every map is a simple square, so there is no getting out if your team is stupid and can't get out of the corner. Anyone who says they like this game is fooling themselves. They just don't want to admit they bought a $60 piece of junk. Save your money, this is not the replacement for Call of Duty that everyone thought it would be.

Trailers were awesome but playability, sound and design were horrible. Playability, a lot of glitches and lags. Sound, I never heard a ridiculous sound of a grenade explosion. Design, I see Taliban skiing down the mountains instead of walking or running, helicopter bouncing against a mountain like a pogo stick, tanks look like boxes etc. I expected it to be as awesome as Modern Warfare 2 where every graphics detailed were rendered beautiful, where movements as smooth as a silk and realistic sound of gunfires and grenade explosions. Playing this game was like playing in an arcade. Quite disappointed. I hope COD Black Ops is not bad as this one.

This game I would rate an 8.5. I think the game play is pretty good especially the online play. I can't stand when you shoot someone 50 times and they just won't die. In this game you shoot someone 2 or 3 times and you can get the kill. I'm a little disappointed in the fact that there are only like 4 or 5 maps for the main game mode (Team Assault). When MW2 came out there were several maps. I definitely thought that the game felt a little rushed as one of the other reviewers stated. The campaign mode was a little short but it had a good storyline and great graphics. All in all it's a decent game. Worth your time to try at least.

This is definitely a great alternative to call of duty. The gameplay and controls are similar to battlefield. My only gripe is the lack of split screen play.

Picked it up thinking it would be better than COD wrong atleast it is something new to play until black ops comes out. Watching the trailers for this I was exciting after playing it just a little disapointed thought it would be more fun. Atleast with the weapons in Multiplayer can't take you out with one shot so it gives some people a chance unless you span hunkerd in a corner that is getting pounded from an air/ mortar strike. At least you have the option to spawn on the frontline or at the base camp in multiplayer. I was just expecting more from all the hype.

Not what it was hyped up to be

I have now had the game for a little over a day, and I am not very satisfied at all….actually I am pretty upset with this game. I was all about it leading up to the release of the game from watching all of the trailers and reading some reviews of the game. Well I don’t know what game they were reviewing but the one that I have been playing for the last day was well below what I was expecting. Now before I make this game out to seem like the worst thing ever released, there were some good things. It seems like most first person shooters lately have been putting much of their efforts into their online multiplayer game play that the campaign modes have kind of been kicked to the way side. Frankly this games campaign was very good and was probably the only thing that kept me from taking the disc out of my PS3 and running it over with my car, but unfortunately once I was really starting to get into the story it was over. The storyline was very well put together and all of the game play followed it closely, but in some of the missions you spent most of your time just walking around or riding around on and ATV in one level. I mean in one of the beginning levels you are on an ATV riding around, but my excitement was quickly dismissed when I realized that their would be no action while on the ATV other then a few times there are some passing trucks that you are FORCED to shut your ATV off and sit their while they pass. So here is how I kind of sum up the game; this game would be worth renting over a weekend and playing the campaign mode one or two times through. You should easily be able to play though it in a couple of days and get some satisfaction out of the storyline and action that the campaign mode offers, and if you have some time and want to see for yourself how choppy and frustrating the online competitive mode, it shouldn’t take you too long. You will then come to figure out that if you wanted to have some fun online play, you will play Call of Duty where the controls and game play are very crisp. With Medal of Honor, it seems almost like there is not enough depth and intricate details in the graphics to where it is very difficult to enjoy this game. If you are looking for some good online game play, put in your Call of Duty or wait until the new Call of Duty: Black Ops is released and pick it up. You are guaranteed much more customization and unlockables for your weapons and character that will keep you playing online for hours.

I only play online, great graphics for 720p and sounds, this game is what Black Ops should be, the only matter on melee is too sensitive always activates in automatic fire special with holographic aim and grenades are to weak to kill anyone. I got this and black ops, if you are between this 2 games, MOH is way too better.

    ARE YOU SERIOUS!?

To the person claiming this game has an anti-American storyline without even having played the game....Are You Serious? Do you realize the player takes on the role of an American operative under orders from the President throughout the entire game. The Multiplayer portion of the game (with no storyline whatsoever) divides players into US Operatives and Tali-ban. Apparently there is no change in game-play from picking either side. Every war game based on real life events has done the same with previous historical, anti-American political/religious factions. Yet people now have a problem with this game...? By the way, none of my friends that were actually in the war have any problem with this or any other similar war video game. In fact most of them are anxiously waiting the game's release. I would never rate a product that I have not tried/played first hand. However in this case i gave it a full five stars just to off set the unfair previous review.

So im a very big Call of Duty fan love them all so i went into Medal of Honor with no expectations. I was very happy with my purchase of this game. Single player was a little short and on the easy side but still ver fun always doing something different in the game. For example flying helicopters and bombing towns to being a sniper on top of mountains. As far as online i was happy with the game play over all its a lot more realistic offers a little of everything. Takes a different skill than CoD overall i would say its a must buy its a great switch in FPS from cod. And i have never had a single problem with getiing in a game or with lagg.

People keep comparing to CoD: Black Ops, but they are two different games. It depends on what you like. CoDBO has more guns, more maps and gun fights happen at much closer distances. Medal of Honor has larger maps, better graphics and better team tactic opportunities. So, if you prefer, objective based, team tactic shooter games, then Medal of Honor will certainly meet your needs.

Game was pretty fun but really not worth the full $60 purchase for me, maybe when it's discounted or a rental it's worth a try. Fun game but the single is really short, maybe 4 - 6 hours max depending on the difficulty you play. Multiplayer is super generic and has no real depth to it, I was very dissapointed. For a game that is claiming to compete with CoD you really got to add some depth to the multiplayer. If not perks then at least class and/or weapon customization would be nice.

Not the best first person shooter

I only do first person shooter, I think FC2 best, Modern warfare2 better, Call of duty4 better... then comes the lowly Medal of Honor. The characters in Medal of Honor online are too small, the play is too unrealistic. The scoring is just wrong, death in a real battle field is real, this game should have included wounded and recovered, safety after spawning, and enemy alert sound when in close encounter. Snipers in the world are losers, they aren't willing to risk death.

I normally dont play the story mode, I usually go straight to online. But I didnt know the controls, so I played a little bit of the story mode and liked it. As it turns out, the controls are almost identical to COD. Anyways, online play is decent. The thing that I hate though is that the grenades and 203's suck, they dont kill anything. Seriously, I cant emphasize that enough. Overall, it's growing on me, the maps are just the right size.
