Customers are saying

Customers regard the RoadTrip 61.6" Tripod highly for its sturdiness, light weight, and the convenience of its monopod conversion. The tripod's compact size and reasonable price are also appreciated, along with the smooth ball head; however, some users have experienced issues with the leg extension mechanism.

The versatility vs. price point of this tripod is unmatched. The quality is phenomenal and it can really be used for anything. The tripod itself is great for landscapes, the pillar can be reversed for macro, and the mono-pod is great for walking around. It's quite light and I have no problem strapping it to my backpack. I love this thing!

This holds my Pentax K-5II with no issues on dirt, sand, grass, and of course anything more solid. It comes with detachable feet to expose tough spikes. Also can be used as a monopod. The head works great and includes bubble levels. Have already suggested to friends.

excellent tripod for the price ,sturdy, compact, lightweight. I'll be shooting the waxing moon tonight with a heavy 400mm lens, no problem with this well built tripod. I made a good choice! Best Buy had a great price and shipping was fast.

I bought this tripod for recent trip to Alaska and am very pleased with how it performs. It packs up very compact in its little carrying case making it perfect for traveling or backpacking. Sets up easily and quickly and is sturdy holding my dslr with no issue. Comparable to much more expensive tripods. Great product for the price point.

MeFoto makes a great product based on other reviews and my own experience, and the Road Trip is the perfect middle ground between heavier/more stability and lightweight/less stable. It holds my fairly heavy DSLR and lens combos with no problems, and I haven't worried about everything falling over. It's a great, compact design and has most of the bells and whistles you might need without breaking the bank. It feels well constructed, the ball head and twist leg locks work well, and you can extend and retract everything pretty quickly. In addition, this gives you the option to separate one leg to use as a monopod. If you aren't totally happy with the release plate (which you can tighten and loosen with a coin), you could always swap out for a different head with a quick release plate more to your liking. You can pay a lot more for the carbon fiber version to save a little weight - it's your decision whether that's a good enough return on your investment. The only downside I've found so far is there are only two "locked" leg positions: what I'd call standard and very wide. You can't set the legs at any other increments. You can, however, mount your camera underneath the tripod if macro shots are your thing. I will submit additional notes about weight on the back while hiking and durability after more extensive travel testing.

If you plan on buy a compact tripod that is light weight and durable, this is the tripod for you. While not cheap, buy cheap and buy more than once.....

I had an old tripod that this was to replace. I really like it's light weight and portability. I do mostly landscape and plant or animal photography. So I'm walking with my equipment on my back for long periods sometimes. So weight and ease of use were very important and this fit the bill without breaking the bank.

This is a well-designed tripod. It folds to a compact package and is relatively light. The ball head is fluid and it feels nice, although, a bit tough to master. I did write the company to see if there were other head options for the unit, but received no reply. As pricey as this is for a travel tripod, I would have thought they could follow-up. Not enough to knock off a star, however. I think there are other options that are just as good.

Great value! The tripod felt like it was made with quality parts. I like that a leg can be removed to be used as a monopod. When on hikes I will use the monopod with care as a walking stick and the rest of the tripod will be even lighter for back packing.

I bought this tripod over the Manfroto partially due to a sale but while inspecting the two in store I felt like this tripod was just as good if not just a little bit better as far as feel and sturdiness. The fact that it's also a monopod is a nice plus. So far I have only used it once but it was easy to setup and get my camera secured. The tripod kept my camera stable and I was able to take nice clear pictures without any motion blur. The carry bag is a nice plus and it's padded and feels like it will last. If you're on the fence and can't get to the store to see it for yourself you won't regret the purchase for the price, especially if on sale or price match.

I'm extremely happy with this purchase. It is small and lightweight, and easily fits into my suitcase. I use it with a Canon 80D and it is very sturdy.. It's very easy to use and comes with a nice carrying case. It was recommended to me by my photography teacher.

Haven’t owned log so no idea how it will hold up but feels sturdy. The tri/mono feature is great. A little heavy but not too bad. A fair amount of adjustments can be made. For the price a great tripod so far.

This is definitely a keeper. It's very lightweight & easy to use & adjust. I had planned to get one with clips instead of twist things to adjust the legs, but this tripod was so easy to adjust & so light that I went with it. It is also quite stable. Love it.

I’ve been using cheaper tripods for years for photography and making videos. They always tend to break or are annoying to setup and tear down. I ended up finding this one on sale and it looked very solid with simple features for setting it up. So when I opened up the package I was happy to see it’s made of high quality material and the adjustment mechanisms see simple yet strong to last the test of time and abuse that I’ll put it through. Also it’s very fast to setup and take down because you can twist all of the locking rings at the same time on each leg when collapsed and tighten each of them quickly.

This tripod has a great build quality to it. Without being too heavy it's a good travel option with it's foldable legs and compact design. Plus one of the legs can be removed for a monopod.

Folds up really small for its size. Great quality feel and the additional monopod 'mode' is very useful. I had looked at the even smaller MeFOTO tripod but felt it was too flimsy, especially the leg locks. The leg locks on this tripod are far better quality. I just wish it was a little lighter but, for that, you would have to pay for carbon fiber.
