Customers are saying

Customers regard the RoadTrip 61.6" Tripod highly for its sturdiness, light weight, and the convenience of its monopod conversion. The tripod's compact size and reasonable price are also appreciated, along with the smooth ball head; however, some users have experienced issues with the leg extension mechanism.

A traveling photographer essential. You need to have level shots if you are doing anything landscape or astrophotography. I can't hold a camera up that stable for that long. Makes LIFE EASIER. Lots of angles and ability to hang your gear bag for extra stability. A bit on the heavier side compared to the carbon fiber counter part. But its still good.

This tripod is fantastic. It folds up very small, is lightweight and can hold 18lbs. It even turns into a monopod!

My old tripod start wears out and has problems after 9 or 10 years being good to me. I search tripod for a while and have hard to let my very first tripod go. Few months of research and compare products based on describe/ spec and figure this is best one of all. A few weeks later, I felled in love with a new tripod, of course, I am little odd to use the new tripod but easy to use. I happy with it, if you decide to go with another kind then you missed out!

    Strong tripod, weak adjustment dials

I use this with a tamron 150-600mm lens and camera (about 14 pounds) it holds the weight well without any fear of my camera falling. The ONLY problem I have is the adjustment dials don't handle the weight well. Once you loosen one you cam move the camera any direction even when the other dials are tight. Just fine though with a lighter weight lens. Not a big issue for me since I shoot mostly still shots, but if you're using a heavy lens and want to have free range and shoot might be a little camera control issue. I would still recommend it to a friend though.

I purchased this tripod to replace one that appears similar from another manufacturer. It may have cost double the price, it may weigh slightly more, it doesn't stand as tall, but it trumps any look alike. Do yourself a favor, spend double the amount and get this one. You will save yourself time. I have captured hundreds of lucid images of the aurora on this pod and I wouldn't trade it for any other. The metal spikes were as priceless as my crampons

Bought this tripod for travel to be used with Canon 70D and various lenses. Works extremely well, easy to use, setup is quick and sturdy. Would recommend. Used for night photography, while traveling, and for hiking photography. Comes with a bag for easy packing in suitcases. Packed in carry on 21in suitcase no issues at all with space.

Compared to my last tripod this one is amazing. It actually hold my camera and has a good center of gravity, no wobbling or worrying about tipping over. The color is nice and it is easy to adjust quickly to the height I need.

I used this and liked it. However, I didn't love it. I am so used to using a tripod plate that slides and locks that I just couldn't get used to the plate use on this. This using a simple lever lock mechanism, but it still just isn't enough security for me. For anyone that needs a portable tripod and hasn't really had any prior experience with one, by all means get this one. For me, I'm returning it and getting a Manfrotto with a slide and lock + lever lock.
