If you've seen The Raid and The Raid 2, you'll love this. It's directed by the same guy who directed both Raid movies and stars both men who starred in both Raid movies as well.

This movie is pretty good for his first try, but Raid 1 & 2 is far superior.

Wasn't nearly as good as The Raid: Redemption, but solid fighting sequences and decent plot, nonetheless.

Merantau is the first film collaboration between director Gareth Evans and action star Iko Uwais.
The story is pretty simple and follows a young man on his coming of age pilgrimage away from home. The highlight of the movie is the brutal display of the Indonesian martial art silat, which is showcased throughout the film.
Heavy on action and an easy to follow story which laid the blueprint for the future RAID series between the two.
Recommended for sure!
