As far a collections go, this isnt the most impressive one, but it had the games that matter most in the series and having them finally be accesible on a nintendo portable console is great in my opinion. Sad they dont run at 60fps, but its nintendo hardware, what can we expect.

Classic MGS on the go (minus the weird Vita back-pad implementation) - how can you possibly go wrong?! Only the first two MSX Metal Gear and NES titles are on the cart. Probably more convenient for most, digitally, but highly recommend the Collection itself regardless of platform!

While the games themselves are great what Konami did with this compilation release isn't. While Capcom is guilty of doing something similar(Mega Man,Resident Evil Revelations) at least They put some of the game product on the cartridge unlike Konami which only put the NES console ports on the cartridge and nothing else really. It makes it pretty redundant to sale a physical compilation when you still have to install about 90% of the collection. Truly the only reason I got this collection is for two reasons one it was on sale for $20 and the ability to play these games on the go.
If I had to pay $60 or even $40 for this collection it would be a quick no as unfortunately Konami really messed up with this collection which is a tragedy unto itself.

Despite not being perfect this is a great collection that brings these games into the palms of the typical gaming audience who knows nothing about emulation or folks who don't have the means to play on original hardware.

It’s amazing to have these legendary games on Switch, but the performance could be better. Some resolution and frame rate issues make it feel like a lazy port. Still, if you’re a Metal Gear fan, it’s great to have these classics in one collection.

Three amazing Metal Gear Solid Games in one collection. Plus you get extra content, music, graphic novels, and the retro NES Metal Gear games. In order to play the games and extra content, The game cartridge has to be in the console.

This is a legendary franchise with a story uneclipsed by any other. Though there are issues with the ports, they have been fixed. runs great on Switch also.

Great game, great service. I have plyed through MGS and MGS 2 many tines since i was young kid. Im so happy to have it on my switch. I had a laminating machine growing up and uaed to make security clearance cards with it. Playing on the switch has brought back memories.
I don't know what Konami was thinking with this...

I actually enjoy the games in this collection, but some of the choices Konami made BAFFLE me. Especially with this version. First, the only games on the cartridge are the MSX and NES games. You have to DOWNLOAD MSG 1, 2 & 3. And not just those games, but also the VR mission game and the Intergrade version of MGS1 as well as the different languages for all the games and the motion comic videos. All of these are MASSIVE gigabyte eaters (including the videos for some reason so you're looking at a download of over 50 gigabytes. Konami, what is you doing?!

Metal Gear is my favorite game franchise ever. I am a huge Kojima fan. I was skeptical about this being a good port, but I am happy to say that it is great. They left his name in the credits, they kept the games as they were. I am so happy that they are a bit more accessible now for everyone to enjoy! These games are timeless and amazing and I think they have fun gameplay, interesting characters with a lot of emotional depth, drama and emotion, ultimately something for everyone to get out of them.

There are tons of bad reviews but people are expecting a port to be a remaster when that is not the case. If you are a fan pf the originals and want to go back in time and experience your childhood this is for you! I got this for the switch and it runs and looks great! If you're on the fence at all just grab it, it's completely worth it, especially the little details like each game comes with its strategy guides (digital) and extras, couldn't recommend enough!
