While this is nowhere near as great as the Legacy Collection on PS3, Metal Gear Solid Master Collection is absolutely worth the value. There are 5 excellent games in here with dozens of extras fans will love. Don’t skip on watching the digital graphic novels too!

Exactly as described. A collection of Metal Gear Solid games (also including the original MSX2 games) along with extra features. My only gripe would be that the original Metal Gear Solid is every bit as archaic in aesthetic as when it was first released. This is very minor in my opinion, seeing that it remains more true to the original experience, and so it does not take away from my overall rating. The last time these games were playable was in the Legacy Collection/HD collections from the PS3 era. Being able to play these on modern platforms is great and is something i've been hoping to see for years. If you like stealth-based gameplay with fantasy elements mixed in and somehow have not played Metal Gear, this might be just the collection for you. (You can also purchase the games separately in digital form for your preferred platform if you don't want the whole collection.)

I have read underwhelming reviews of this from launch, but I’m happy to report as of late 2024 it should meet the expections of most players. Sure, the PC release has some additional options for tweaking resolution, etc, but despite the ommission a few small tweaks that would have been nice to have, this collection looks good and plays very well. It’s an excellent crash-course in the series for those who have never experienced it, and its an accessible way to revisit these wntries for those who already know them well.

This is an OK way to play these classic games, but not the best. Pros -The first 2 MSX Metal Gear games, 2 not so great NES games, and the first 3 MGS Games together in one collection -Additional materials include Strategy Guides, Bande Desinee motion comic videos of MGS 1 and 2, and other region versions of the games (including MGS1 Integral, a Japan-exclusive version with some bonuses) -Codec load times in MGS 2 and 3 are much better here than in the PS3/360 HD Collection -You can create dummy save files for the PS1 Konami games that unlocked a fun little easter egg in the original version of MGS1 Cons -Really bad screen filter on MGS 1 makes it look less than ideal -The bonus/secret material cut from MGS 2 and 3 for the HD Collection (MGS2 Skateboarding, MGS3 Ape Escape mode, Secret Theater, Guy Savage dream sequence, etc) is still missing from this, too -Other region versions of the games are DLC, not on the disc

It one of the games i came to love video games as a kid. With the frist of the set on the Nintendo, where i was hook and Playstation took it to what it is today. Love it

Classic games in one package. I've never played the MSX metal gears but this helped me finally play them for once

I really wanted to get into the metal gear series and had noticed that there was a sale going on for the collection. I bought it and played through mgs1 and had a complete blast, I havent had this much fun playing a game in a while. Definitely recommend to new players getting into mgs, just wished rising revengence was on it as well.

Pickup was quick and easy. Classic title on a modern system. Great game.

Pure nostalgia, I've heard some issues from other people but this is probably the best way to introduce or reintroduce yourself to these classics.

The collection of Metal Gear games is SOLID! I've loved playing these games over the year, and to get them all in one package with cleaned-up visuals, and overall quality of life improvements, I've been happy with the purchase. If you have anyone in your life who's an old-school PS1/PS2 player and loved the Metal Gear Solid games, pick this one up today.

Great way to replay old titles. I picked this up along with the new Snake Eater remake, it was nice replaying these games in order to relive old gaming experiences.
