Fun Stealth Game

This is a very fun game, even for those not quite up on the story so far. You can go ninja or all out machine gun bad-a... ahem. You get lots of equipment to develop and use. There is a pretty neat mechanic where you build and populate your base. It is fairly easy to understand and adds something different from most stealth or action games.
The game has tons of content in terms of many, many missions, most taking an hour or more to complete when trying to be stealthy. The only down side I see is that the travel in between mission areas gets a bit dull with the same old checkpoints to laying in the way. Still, if you're imaginative you can have varying fun with these. Making your own goals increases the fun.

I've been playing it for about six hours now. Here are my thought:
1. EVERYONE has to play the first mission of this game ("Prologue"). It's one of those rare moments in gaming when you actually FEEL like you're the character. It's very graphic, though, so I wouldn't sit the entire family around the TV for this one.
2. I just finished Far Cry 4 and this has a lot of the same elements in it. For instance, when "attacking" an installation I spend some time "tagging" the enemies with my binocular just like I did in Far Cry 4.
3. Graphics are the best I've seen yet on Xbox One.
4. Very elaborate controls, in my opinion - almost to the point of being confusing. Lots of "Hold down the D pad while pressing the left button while selecting AND pushing down with the R analog stick" kind of stuff. Still not used to it all.
5. The story is solid and the voice acting is great!
6. I like the "Mother Base" component to the game. It's a great way to customize and pick the equipment you want without adding too much management overhead.
7. It's kind of "open world." It's not nearly as open as Skyrim or something like that where you literally can just go do whatever you want.
Great game. Glad I bought it. Look forward to MANY more hours of enjoyment

Ive never played a single metal gear solid game in the years theyve been out. I have heard nothing but rave reviews on this game so i decided to give it a try. Outstanding storytelling with good graphics and the open world style to it makes it one of my GOTY. The companions you bring along with on missions are awesome to unlock and use during the game. I recommend this to any fan of gaming ever.

This game is the greatest stealth game that came out this year. Although Chapter 1 of the story was great, chapter 2 just kind of seemed rushed. There were even some missions that were exactly the same as Chapter 1 but "harder" or required you to be stealthy 100%. It confused me at first but then I didn't bother. Also the ending was a huge disappointment, I won't spoil anything though. Overall the game gets 4 stars because Chapter 1 was great and the Gameplay Is the best this generation.

Amazing game, the graphics are stunning and just the sheer amount of things you can do in the game is ridiculous. The AI is top notch and adapts to your tactics as the game progresses which will keep you on your toes learning new ways to take them out. Great story and music only random con being the overdone credits that role after every episode, I mean we know it's a Hideo Kojima game c'mon

This game is amazing. Simply amazing. Another homerun for the MGS franchise and Hideo Kojima! You play in a Huge open world set in Afghanistan and there is just SO much to do and so many different ways to do it all. I can't wait to see how long this game will be playable I'm so excited to keep going. Everyone should be buying this game if you're a fan of super stealth game play.

It may not exactly be the Metal Gear Solid game that we all remember from the originals, but Kojima did leave us with an impressive open world game with many memorable moments. This game deserves a consideration for game of the year. This game also runs beautiful on the PS4 and Xbox One, so any PC players that want to complain, you can't do that here about this game.

Forget about any stealth game you have played before. MGSV sets a new bar for what stealth action games should be - huge, immersive, graphically amazing, excellent voice acting and great controls. If you have never played a Metal Gear game, you won't be entirely lost starting this one out, but knowing the history of MGS will make everything more intense.

This is a little different than past Metal Gear games. That's not necessarily a bad thing. Different in the fact that you're not penalized going into a mission guns a blazin'...You still get the classic espionage aspect Metal Gear offers though. The graphics are beautiful and the story is crazy as ever. I'll be putting a bunch more time into this game.

It might seem like I've been quite hard on Metal Gear Solid V for what it does with the story. Guilty as charged. That being said, though, the experience of Metal Gear Solid V is still pretty amazing. The gameplay is engaging, even if the story isn't always engaging. I've poured hours into this game and haven't tired of it yet. For as much as Metal Gear Solid V stumbles, it's strengths stand just as tall. Fans should play it just to get the full story. On the other hand, though, it's lack of emphasis on the storytelling might be hard for some of the most devoted fans of the series. It has its moments where it'll challenge you and make you think, but the story is not quite as engaging as the gameplay itself is. I have thoroughly enjoyed the time I've spent with Metal Gear Solid V. It's not perfect and it doesn't hide its blemishes as well as other Metal Gear games, but even with its flaws in storytelling I found myself unable to put it down. For that, I can recommend Metal Gear Solid V. Even if it can't quite reach the heights of the previous games in the series, Metal Gear Solid V is still a great game.

MG5 is visually amazing, weapons galore to complete your missions, great story expected with the Metal Gear series, its says its a open world? not really if you go out to far it warns you that can't complete the mission. MG5 On-line is interesting enough, & Side Ops Mission are neccessary to fully complete the game.

Never played this series before, but picked up the game on a suggestion. Very glad I did, and would recommend to anyone looking for a "different" kind of game to play. Open world is also incredibly fun, and visually pleasing in this game.

One of the Best Metal Gear Games to Date

I've been playing the Metal Gear Solid Games since they first debuted on the original Playstation back in 1998. All of the main games have been great, and this is no different. This isn't your typical Metal Gear game with one mission that is continuously evolving. This game takes place over different countries and each main mission you take on is an episode (almost has a 24 feel to it).You have side missions to take on and you are charged with building your base up, which will include recruiting personnel through different means in order to accomplish. To be honest, I haven't beaten the game yet because the side missions are absorbing my time.
It is a fantastic game, although the overly done cinematic feel could have been toned down, but you can say that about any Metal Gear Solid game, just look on YouTube at the hours of video that encompass each game. I'd recommend this game for any Metal Gear Solid fan as it is a great way to wrap the series up, should they so happen to end it.

Metal Gears Solid V: The Phantom Pain is a great action-infiltration style game that puts players in the shoes of a legendary military agent. Sneaking past enemy strongholds, rescuing important prisoners, and mech combat are all things you will be doing frequently in this game and it is a blast. The visuals are some of the best I have seen in a game yet, and the massive open-world terrain available to explore will offer tons of hours of enjoyment.

Every time a new metal gear comes out its full of non-stop action, violence, and as always some humor in it. The gameplay is unbelievable, plus you can redo missions that you have completed to get more ammo, people, and anything. By far the best metal gear game made ever.

Managing to transition to the open world environment while keeping all the action and stylized quirkiness of the franchise was a daunting task. And this game does not disappoint on any front. The addition of motherbase gives another layer of customization.

Beautiful graphics, tight and responsive controls, great gameplay, and just straight up fun. This is the best stealth game out right now. If you are new to the series, this is a great starting point.
note: The online mode is still down for most players!
