This part would have worked fine it's good quality too but after purchasing it I learned if you have any type of factory amp it must be bypassed. My 05 Tundra oem amp was a Panasonic amp about 10 watts per channel fwiw..lol There is a new Metra amp Bypass harness out for "Non JBL" Tundra stereos with an amp like mine had. The new one has very long wires it's Metra 70-8121 Amp Bypass Harness kit. My 2005 Access Cab Tundra amp was not in the dash, it's under the rear seat in storage area under a plastic cover. Double cabs are on back of cab wall behind a cover behind their rear seat. These cases will make you cut/splice many wires to bypass the amp, up until now that is. Now' just unplug the amps original outlet jack, plug the new 70-8121 harness into it and run it's extra long wires to the new stereo and your done!! Best buy was great on this items return, thank you all... Oh ya and Metra' I'm glad a Metya...lol

The Metra harness does what it should, but this review is really about the installers at the Fort Wayne (north) location. First, I will admit that I purchased a new Pioneer for my own Christmas present. Bad Dad, I know. So after waiting til Xmas to open it up, I then had to wait until almost the end of January for an install date. That was a hassle, especially since I live an hour away. Getting the date was a hassle, too--the store's phone tree was terrible and nobody in the front could help get me to the guys doing install...who were busy doing their job. Someone in CS needs to be able to access the schedule. This is an issue that the store management needs to look into. BUT...the INSTALL...was excellent. Pioneer was in and kicking in my old '99 4Runner in an hour, just as they said. So great work, installers, but get to work on the store issues, managers.

I can't see how or why anyone would want to try an install of an aftermarket radio without this specialized adapter that integrates all the connections for your specific vehicle. You can use crimp on connectors or in my case I chose to solder each wire to the corresponding wire from the aftermarket radio and used shrink tubing to insolate each wire. If you ever decide to get rid of the vehicle and keep the radio you will be glad you went this route. Just reinstall the original radio with just a couple of easy connections, and you didn't damage the original cars wire harness. I have done this a few times in a few other vehicles and will always go this route to save time and ease of installation.

This purchase was in support of the purchase of a new Kenwood stereo system with a back-up camera thrown in, for good measure. The convenience of having all of the accessories available from one store is great. I highly recommend having your system installed by the Geek Squad at Best Buy. You may also want to talk to them before you purchase to make sure you get everything you need when you place your order. All in all, the was a great experience at Best Buy.

The entire experience was flawless!!! From the Salesman "D.J" he answered all of the questions I had on the products To Christain the Audio Installer, I cannot say enough great things about this guy! He installed it quickly, perfectly and answered and showed me how to operate everything! How ever much this guy makes, he deserves a raise lol. Thank you to your entire staff! *****10 STARS! *****

If you plan on installing an amp to your car for your car speakers, more than likely you will be running your own wires from the amp back to the speakers. Therefore, you won't be using the factory wiring in your car. This means that the speaker cables on this harness will not be needed for your amp. I bought this harness and only used the ground (black), power (red), and accessory (yellow) wires. You are better off just tapping into these wires. Save yourself some money.

I prefer to use butt splices for this sort of operation, and since the kit is actually designed with pre-stripped ends for hand twist splices, I had to cut down the ends a little, but no real problem there. All the colors matched up well with the colors on my stereo, making that part easier, but the wires were also labeled in ink just in case the colors don't align appropriately. Plenty of length on the wires, and the plugs fit my car perfectly. What more could you want?

Works as advertised, however there are 2 dimmer (illumination) wires, and it doesn't tell you which actually controls the brightness. I guess I chose the wrong one because the lights on my stereo are now SUPER BRIGHT all the time... which gives a bad glare for night driving. Installed it myself, solder and heatshrink connections. Won't have to worry about a wire coming loose that way. Also gives better quality connections if you're picky about sound quality.

Great OEM quality wiring harness for use with factory Toyota head unit wiring. This harness (Metra 70-1761) can be used in conjunction with the male version of this harness (Metra 71-1761) to create a T-harness to allow the addition of amplifiers without cutting or splicing in to factory wiring.

While this is labeled for a Toyota Scion, it is installed in a Toyota Tundra. Had to rely on the expertise of the Best Buy installation Professional. The harness works great for organization and ease of access to the wiring system when installing the stereo. A good idea for anyone that may be changing out stereos as often as one changes phones or computers these days.

This adapter makes aftermarket radio installation alot simpler. No more googling for radio wire colors. Everything is color coded and fit factory connectors perfectly. Just match up the wire colors and secure the connections with a method of your choice. Also, if your toyota came equipped with an amplified system from factory, you may need a different harness.

This item was purchased as part of the installation of a new audio system for my grandson's Toyota pickup. It fit the old wiring harness exactly as advertised, and saved time and effort during the installation. The installer would not have attempted an installation without this part. It worked as it should.

This wiring harness is great to bypass the factory amp that are in most toyotas from this year range. Read the forums about bypassing the factory amp before you make the mistake of cutting all the wires you just spliced when you realize it doesn't connect into the factory amp on the vehicle. You will need this harness if you plan on putting in a subwoofer and your own amp.

The product worked fine after I had to return to the store multiple times because the representatives there (Wheaton, MD) had no idea what they were giving me. Had to return the product 2 times before getting the right one. I finally went to the installation garage and asked the gentleman working on a car if he could get me the right one and he helped me out finally.

This wiring harness may be a couple dollars more than other places, I was ordering a stereo online so I figured I would order the harness at the same time. It is made by Metra so it is a quality made harness. Plug & play, and makes for an easy install.

It is a wiring harness/adapter. The tech installed it when he installed my car stereo. Everything works. Not really much I can say. The electrons move freely through the harness and provide the appropriate voltages to the appropriate areas. Rock make fire! Magic sound from magic glowing box in magic metal rolling box......

I recently purchased a stereo for my truck, and needed a wire harness for easier install. I figured I would try on my own and worse case sinario bring it in to get fix. This harness made it so easy to use, simple click and match colors. Never done it before and came out perfect! Price matched with amazon also for about 3 dollars!

This is the ONLY way to go instead of tracing down wires and hoping everything works out in the end! All the wires are color coded to the units colors (at least it was on mine), but there is plain and simple instructions that label color for function. Once wired to the units wiring, just plug it in to your vehicles stock harness and thats it!

Since the radio in my 2001 pickup was about 13 years old, it was obvious that the new one, with the special features, would require a different wiring harness than what was originally installed. Robert, the installer, knew exactly which harness to use. The radio/bluetooth works fine and is a blessing to have in my pickup.
