That is what I have done on countless installs.

Perfect fit 2004 Silverado 1500

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.With antenna, Metro DIN kit & harness adaptor, install was a breeze in my 2004 Silverado 1500, plus I got a bonus "cubby" for phone and wallet. Had to run individual switched B+ (included red wire) to the drivers side dashboard edge fuse block, but it was just long enough one on the easiest installs ever!

Other harnesses were used and put back in box or wrong item put in box. Finally went to best buy,got correct item in box,which makes install so much easier.

Did online homework before shopping

Purchased this for a 2004 Silverado and worked like a charm!

Metra Wire harness adapter.

They didn't line up with right pins. But that may have been as much of an odd truck wiring thing as opposed to a problem with the harness adapter.
