I’ve been playing this game for hours the past couple of days, and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is stunning. The atmosphere, the graphics, the satisfying first-person puzzle/combat loop; it's all perfect Prime DNA.
The Control Beam is the coolest mechanic so far. I'm hooked on scanning every alien thing and figuring out how to progress. I’m not finished with the game yet but I can tell it’s the beautiful adventure I was waiting for!

Good not great. Looks beautiful on switch 2 and runs at a stable frame rate on switch 1 hardware. Strongly recommended!

The most incredible Switch game I’ve ever played. It’s been a long time since I’ve had such a euphoric experience playing a video game.
Highly recommend playing with a stereo or surround sound system, the audio in this game is unforgettable.

I recommend this game it is an amazing addition to the Metroid series as it captures the same story telling and environment setting that made the previous games great.

Looks amazing, fun, difficult but not too hard. Takes about 20 to beat so there's some replayability.

This isnt the place for game reviews. This SHOULD be a vendor review. As in, the vendor sold me the item exactly as advertised. No damage, no dents or scratches. Perfect condition. They also ordered enough to meet demand. There, done, 5/5 stars.
Yeah yeah you really want a game review. Sure whatever.
The story is good, a natural continuation/advancement of Metroid Prime 3 with more NPC dialogue and a "save the world" theme. But this is subjective, i like the story and characters but if you don't I won't tell you you're wrong. I honestly think youre right, but like i said this is the natural progression of the story telling style of Metroid Prime 3 and I like it for what it is.
Samus stays silent here. Shes strong and stouc just like we want her to be. Because of that this game's story is amazing. No Other M nonsense here.
Gameplay is fun. Its linear but Metroid Fusion was linear too. We still need to get upgrades to unlock new areas. Dessert is too big, if i were to rate based on gameplay then I'd knock a point. But thats it really, thats the only flaw i see. Again my opinion. If you hate the dessert with a passion i honestly understand why, but im ok (not cool) with it.
Motion controls are great, i remapped buttons to match MP3 control scheme. Made controls super intuitive.

This is a review of the Switch 1 version, upgraded with the Switch 2 expansion and played on a Switch 2.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond starts with a familiar cadence: Samus leaps into an action-packed opening act, fully equipped, ready to do battle! Of course, due to some plot twist she is soon stripped of her powers and marooned on an unfamiliar world. The core gameplay loop retains that classic Metroid Prime feel - explore strange new worlds, scan everything you can, obtain an upgrade that lets you advance, rinse and repeat.
But then Nintendo went "Beyond" - it's less a leap forward and more a faceplant by committee. The haunting, desolate isolation of a lone bounty hunter's mission is frequently interrupted by chatter from an unwelcome radio buddy. There is no opt-out, no mercy - just random interjections of vaguely obvious observations prodding the player to keep moving ("Lost? Duh, did you think to check the map?" Thanks, guy.)
To make matters worse, the map screen features radio button that, when accidentally tickled, rewards you with a full 10 seconds of white noise static that you can't dismiss or interrupt, you just have to sit there and endure the "connection unavailable" message...this HAS TO BE a joke!
But hey, now Samus can (sometimes) transform into a really cool motorcycle! Too bad it exists solely to traverse a drab desert populated with unnecessary enemies that exist just to waste your time. This hub world should have just been a map screen.
Nintendo hasn't completely lost its special sauce. The game still delivers a top-notch audio-visual presentation and tight, responsive controls that feel familiar and satisfying. When you're deep in a level, scanning mysterious alien artifacts and piecing together environmental narratives and blowing up bad guys, Metroid Prime's bones are still there.
Everything "Beyond" about Metroid Prime 4 feels like half-baked attempt to shoehorn the least-liked features of more modern first person shooter games into a tried-and-true formula that it transforms from a potential masterpiece to a frustratingly average experience. The motorcycle is cool. The scanning is fun. The core gameplay is solid. There is fun to be had here, it's just marred by what like decisions by a focus group that has been groomed on average FPS sludge, unaware of what makes the Metroid Prime games the classics that they are.

I've been a Metroid fan for a little over 20 years, and I've been waiting for this for quite some time. It has various flaws, but it is still an overall great game. Fun combat, excellent music, and very amazing graphics and performance on both Switch 1 & 2. Definitely the best-looking switch game I've played yet.

Metroid, there's not too much to say on this title, if you're a fan of the series you'll love it but it would be a lot better if not for all the scanning that you're required to do to move the story along.

Gameplay is solid and the atmosphere feels like Metroid, but the addition of the side-characters, psychic powers, and a motorcycle are jarring and take me out of the experience.

If you’re an old fan then this is kinda disappointing I thinking Dread was better. If you’re first time or new then yes is pretty good solid gameplay mechanic

After waiting for almost two decades for this, it was okay. I just wish there was more to it. It fell flat compared to the previous games.

This game is really nice, a good follow up. The only thing I dislike is that they pushed the motorcycle with similar Mario racing game.

This is a pretty and great game. Does it help with Metroid as a story? not really, no. Just skip the story scenes or go get a snack or check your phone during story beats. I will say that the Lamorn story is interesting. I just wish there was more.

As a huge Metroid fan, both 2D and 3D, I was super hyped for Metroid Prime 4. The combat itself does feel like a Metroid Prime title, but that's about it. Levels are linear, the central desert zone is boring (and you're forced to spend 1-2 hours driving around collecting crystals), and the story doesn't make a lot of sense. If you're a Metroid Prime diehard, you might like this alright, but I'd recommend getting Metroid Prime Remastered if you're not. It's a much better game.
