This game is awesome. The improvements to the game from the make it even better than the original one. If you've got a 3DS you need to get this game.

The only thing that would make this game better was if it was on Switch.

I haven't played a Metroid game since the SNES, and BOY have things become even more awesome! The quality of the graphics actually took me by surprise, for being a handheld game. The gameplay is super solid and the map has been a blast to explore and open up. If you love Metroidvania games, you are going to buy this regardless of my review. Everyone else, GET IT.

Overall I can say the reimaging of metroid 2 was a fun game all the way through. Controls was done well with nice secrets to find and a decent challenge

I bought this as a present for my daughter, young adult. She loves it and it works great with the DS. I would recommend it for young adult.

Samus 2 was one of the first Gameboy games I played and even though I beat it, I did not have good memories of it. This game is what more remakes should be like, keep the classic elements but make it new in a way and challenging. Some people say this game is too hard but it gave me a lot of thrill with its fast paced action and intense boss fights

I really enjoyed this purchase. I think it's nostalgia at it's finest because it performs like an original Metriod game with lots of bumps and extras to bring it into our era. As is this is the re imagining of Metroid 2 if you have been a Metroid fan in the past or even if you are not, this is a great title to get involved in the series. Super fun!!!

Good, not great. But it's the return of Samus and, in effect, Metroid, and that's a beautiful thing. An incredible soundtrack, cool use of the 3D visual gimmick, some good movement... But it's brought down a bit by stale environments, repetitive enemy types / bosses, and an obnoxiously abundant emphasis on the parry mechanic. All criticism aside, it's a pretty average Metroid experience, but there's a high bar there. And so, it is at the very least still a decent game.

I loved this game. A little back tracking that's fun and annoying but made me dust off my 3ds and put my switch on hold, glad I did!!

Fun game, especially if you're a Metroid fan. I love the soundtrack to this game as well. Definitely will be recommending to others.

First off, this is one of the most visually impressive games I've ever seen on the 3ds. It's a pleasure to look at. The story is rather thin, as this is a remake of Metroid II on Game Boy, in which your goal was simply to exterminate all the remaining Metroids. The gameplay is solid and challenging, but the inclusion of a parry mechanic makes it different from any Metroid that has come before. I think the game does lean on this new mechanic a bit too heavily, but I would still recommend this game to any Metroid fans.

I'm a bigger fan of the older, run-n-gun style play of the previous Metroid games. Not as big of a fan of the stop-and-aim shooting in this one. Still a good game. Would help if it had better music.

I was a little skeptical about this game since some of the more recent Metroid entries have been hit or miss but I had a lot of fun with this one. It might be that I don't remember the original that well but the game world felt a lot larger than I expected. And the gameplay and graphics were really well done.

Metroid: Samus Returns is not a revolutionary game in terms of gameplay, story, or design, but it is a lot of fun to play. The game strikes a decent balance in gameplay, offering a challenge at times, but not to the point of being frustrating. If you are a fan of the original 2D Metroid games, you will enjoy this one as well.

Very nostalgic to Super Metroid on SNES. Fairly easy to play so my 8 year old has been able to play through it as well.

Nintendo finally returns to metro is with a great 2D Metroidvania that proves 3Ds has a lot of life left in it.

I never played the original Metroid 2 and that’s not a problem. If you love Super Metroid this game is a fun take in that universe again. Mechanics are slightly different (some of which can make exploration easier but are optional). But for any Metroidvania fans who miss the genre this is worth picking up.

Wow, Nintnedo finally released another 2D Metroid, and it's great. The controls are tight and work well. The 360° aiming in particular is amazing. My only complaint is that the new melee counter is used a little too often and can upset the flow of combat a little. Other than that, this game is fantastic!

Got this as a gift for my son for Christmas. He has not played it yet but I am sure he will that day!

A very polished game, has all what you expect from a metroid game. The combat system is easy to master. Presentation is like a metroid game should be, a vast alien world where you are a lonely hunter. It's a must have for any 3ds owner that likes platforming or metroid style gameplay.
