I played this game on release day, but wanted to leave a review here now for poops n giggles. The game is absolutely fantastic and as a retro collector, im glad its fairly different in certain aspects to the GB version as I have played both and can still play both and have different experiences. The game felt great, looked great, had cool bosses and areas, and some cool suprises, especially at the end.

If you are a fan of 2D Metroid, you're probably already sold on this game. This perspective is from someone who has no history with 2D Metroid. I decided to give this game a spin after being introduced to the Metroid series through Smash Bros. a few years back. For the most part I wasn't disappointed, though I found a few parts repetitive and boring. Pros: -Cool art style -Interesting power-ups -Cool 360 shooting mechanic -Some interesting and fun bosses Cons: -Got repetitive -Lacking in enemy/boss variety -Little replayability This wouldn't be one of the first games I'd recommend on the 3DS, but if you're looking for a fun little 2D shooter adventure or you're interested in the franchise, give it a shot. Just don't expect to be blown away.

A huge fan of Metroid games growing up in the 90's. My most fond memories are of playing Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, Metroid Zero Mission. This game looks and feels exactly like how Metroid is supposed to. It is truly worthy. Love this game.

Have not fully delved into the game but from what I have played the graphics are good and brings back the 2d platforming days of old. Have not been able to play any of the newer Metroid games since they are all first person shooters, so good to see a good 2d platformer with 3d graphics.

This game is amazing and true to the original version. I feel like the Aeon's addition wasn't very necessary but it is handy nonetheless.

This game definitely is a must have for those that want to experience a fresh take on metroid 2 for the gameboy.

A must buy for Metroid fans, Nintendo fans, and 3ds or 2ds owners. Its also a very challenging game and the graphics look amazing.

It is a wonderful remake with superb controls. They really outdid themselves. Hoping they remake Fusion next!

This is a great remake of Metroid II with some challenging boss fights.

Not only did it keep my elder son quiet (and not just during the drive, but the whole trip itself), but the little one loved watching him play.

Very nice modern take on Metroid II Return of Samus. Fans of Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, or Metroid Zero Mission will enjoy this.
