I have never played metroid 1 or 2. The old style never impressed meand the lack of good graphics, gameplay and music was a bummer since I'm a big fan of Super Metroid and Metroid Prime Trilogy. Sammus Returns is a nice game. Good 3d graphics, nice difficult and the gameplay is great. You wanna keep playing just for the fact that is fun to control Sammus. The story is a bit rough though, as the original was. Nice game which worths the price to be part your 3ds game library.

Truly awesome game with hours to play. Its a must for Metroid fans.

While a remake, this will probably be a new experience for most people, and takes place after the original game. While I got frustrated with having to play this on the 3DS versus being able to play it on the Switch, the game itself does a very good job of feeling like classic Metroid, which is very welcome after years of the series waffling around.

Its a metroid game. You go in with certain expectations like game play and music.and it delivers a solid game.

I really enjoy the visuals and the game play of this game.

First good new Metroid game in 10 years was worth the wait

This is a remake of the Gameboy game from a million years ago. It is a nice Metroidvania type game and I was a bit worried that it wouldn't work in this 2.5 D style. But it does work. The problem with this game is that other Metroidvania type games have far surpassed this game. It's a fine game but not just as engaging as I wanted it.

I love this game. It brings me back to the old games

This game reminds me of the original Metroid games, obviously, and does nothing inherently wrong. My problem is it seems a little “soulless”, and boring/repetitive with few standout moments unlike Super Metroid which I would consider far superior.

So close to a perfect expanded remake. I don't mind the physical counter-attack system, in fact, I think it was a good idea. However, they changed the basic AI of every enemy to LUNGE at you, meaning that you HAVE to use it ALL THE TIME... It gets old after a while... Otherwise a great remake of Metroid 2!

Metroid 2 was my first Metroid I ever played and while I did like it it might be my least favorite one but this game takes the cool stuff from that game and adds all the cool mechanics from the rest of the newer Metroid games to make this a great remake I would highly recommend this game I feel like the Metroid series is a underrated series but all of them are great.

Another instant classic to the already extremely successful and population Metroid series. Most own for any 3DS owner. Arguably one of the best titles on the console.

This game is fun for both new and old fans of the franchise. It has plenty of new content but the mechanics and adventure that originally made the series a hit.

This is not a remake, but rather a reimagined version of Metroid II. It adds a meleé counter move for use against enemies that flash before they strike. It's also adds new power ups, bosses and a new ending not found in the original version of Metroid II. Metroid fans will easily enjoy this.

Got this for my nephew, he really like it and he takes it everywhere.
