Based on other Metroid games I've played, surely this will be a good game

I bought this for my husband, and he has been having a lot of fun playing it. I can tell that some of it has been challenging for him, which is good! He really likes it!

Samus Returns with fluid and engaging game play, this is the first Metroid game to release in a long time and a major improvement over the black and white Metroid 2.

Long time metroid fan here. This game is everything I wanted it to be.

I've been waiting for a new 2D Metroid game for years and the wait has been worth it. The series quite literally returns to its roots but with modern design. While it's conceptually a remake of Metroid II - Return of Samus for the original Nintendo Gameboy (before even Color!), the layout of the map is overhauled to the point where it's basically an entirely new game. MercurySteam and Nintendo really refined this game which sets it apart from a certain fanmade remake. Both games are fantastic and I highly recommend you play both to see the unique merits of both, even if you've never played the original. Objectively speaking, the original Gameboy game is actually terrible but the remakes remedy a lot of the issues that game had. You can skip the Gameboy one unless you're interested to see a product of that time.

This is a must own for anyone with a 3ds and fan of the metriod series. The music is on point makes me wish I got the collectors edition with CD. Game play hands down perfection. Story... its metriod need I say more. Must own period.

Not as good as Super Metroid, but still awesome. Top ten 3ds game.

Too many games now try to be too nostalgic and just fail. This is where Metroid: Samus Returns is different. New story, game play features and graphics that separate it from the classics, but still familiar to the long time fans.
