Still trying to get used to this functionality. Apps are limited to MS which is nothing specific to Surface but does affect its use as a tablet. As a replacement for basic laptop functions, it has been good.

I cannot play the games I want but other than that the surface and its programs are wonderful!

great for all around use user friendly and gets the job done

I first bought 32gb and return it for 64. The only problem is the internet is little slow compare to normal pc

I wanted a tablet but didn't want to pay the $600 + price tag. This one is really good for what I need it for such as internet browsing, checking my email, and watching streamed movies.

I found that using this product being a student- i would not reccomend at all. It is very hard to multi task and do the things you need to do as a student. It's great for play, but not for work or school.

Near perfect condition. One small scratch on the kickstand, but that is nitpicking. It runs perfectly (I'm typing this review on my new Surface#. Complaints would be over 90 updates including 8.1. That took over 4hrs. I was upset at first about the lack of Google Chrome and apps. However, IE touch is very powerful and runs every website flawlessly. Including Hulu, so I don't have to pay for Hulu plus. The screen isn't a 'retina' display but is very clear and the colors are excellent. The on-screen keyboard is wonderful, with the predictive text continually improving. With Office 2013, it pretty well replaces my laptop. And will once I buy a type cover. I haven't measured the battery life scientifically but if I charge it over night it lasts all day with heavy use #it's still new so I'm using it nonstop. Having a real USB port is nice I've used it to set up my printer and used a USB keyboard for writing a blog post. It will also charge my android phone. I'm very happy and recommend this even as a refurbished unit. I would even be willing to go with the Surface 2 at the increased cost. For the discounted price this is easily the best tablet for the money.

I was very excited to get a new Surface...but I was very quickly disappointed. Partially my own fault for not reading up on Windows 8.1 RT before purchasing, but it really wasn't clear anywhere I looked. I needed a computer/tablet to run non-microsoft software (not available as an app), and unfortunately, with this tablet running RT and not full 8.1, you cannot download or install any 3rd party software. Other than that, it seems like a nice tablet, runs smoothly, love the kickstand.....but unfortunately it does not meet my needs.

For the first in its Series it has a lot of bugs that Microsoft should have thought longer on before releasing it. I bought mine as soon as they came out and now I wish I had waited for the Pro 2. Just to many bugs and unfinished all around.

I took a chance and bought refurbished for a Christmas present and I got burnt. Battery does not charge! Will never buy refurbished again.
