With in the month i bought it it stop working had to go back and switch it out!

Terrible design and have always had issues with this machine. It was actually replaced once under a Geek Squad plan. I wish I had gotten a different design. The battery has gone back after 18 months. I’ll be taking it back to BB GS to see what my extended warranty will do.

I purchased an excellent open box surface book 2 which supposed to come with all items and accessories but I recived a fair condition open box with missing pen, when I asked for some refund from costumer service they just wanted to send me a $25 gift card or a complete return after a month waiting... I will never buy anything from this store....

This PC had faulty components out of the box that prevented me from signing in to it even with my Microsoft account. Best Buy refused to replace it due to this sign in problem. I took it to the Microsoft Store, who exchanged for a new one. Thanks Best Buy!

This is the Surface Book that I wanted when they first released it in 2015. The issues that plagued the first Surface Book are gone now. This has long battery life, around 8-10 hours of real use. The 15" version has a dedicated GPU that is powerful enough to edit videos and play games when you have some down time. The 15" (almost 4K) display is bright and has excellent color reproduction. It is still light enough to use as a tablet and has better battery life on it's own now (around 3-4 hours). The overall system is 4.2 lbs and is extremley light for a 15" laptop. The speakers are loud and full and always face you since they are in the display. Ports are excellent and include; full sd card reader, 2 USB 3.1 ports,the surface power input that doubles with the surface dock, and a USB C port (lacking thunderbolt 3). The operating system is Windows Pro 10 and works great with the new Ink features. The new surface pen (not included) supports over 4,000 levels of sensitivity and has side angle support with some apps. The new keyboard feels snappier and not as mushy and has 1.55mm of travel. The track pad is glass and is the best of any Windows laptops. I would highly recommend this laptop to anyone. It can handle your work and play with all day battery life and power with the internal GPU. -CoachCWC

This computer is absolutely amazing for college students. It's got more than enough power to run anything you could possibly need for school, and the added graphics card means you can do some gaming on study breaks. I've been using this computer for about a year now in medical school and I've had no issues with it. The battery life is still great, as I can go basically all day at school without having to charge it.

Working very quietly and not heating. Overall very good performance and features. For a touchscreen laptop, it is the best out there. Microsoft improving things!

This laptop feels like a premium product. I like the no bezel feel and the detachable function and touch screen makes this superior to other laptops in it's class. The price is definitely the issue.

I was very skeptical about this laptop. I did a lot of research and comparisons. I have owned many laptops over the years. I have to say this is the most versatile and well made laptop I have ever had. It's super smooth and very quick. I love the tablet mode. It's easy to sit back, drink some coffee and surf the web. Yes it is expensive but it's worth every penny. I highly recommend this laptop.

The Surface Book 2 is great in theory, but poorly done in execution. There are way too many compromises and flaws for what is supposed to be a premium notebook: * Terrible port selection: No HDMI or DisplayPort output, despite plenty of room, no Thunderbolt 3, headphone port is in an awkward position when the tablet is connected to the base (top right of the tablet, right where the Windows "close" button is) * Charger cable blocks the only USB-C port when it's attached * Nvidia drivers won't install without a workaround * Charger can't keep up with the graphics card and you lose about 10% battery charge per hour while gaming, even when plugged in * No stylus pen included, nowhere to stash the pen so it's easy to lose ($99 to buy a new one) * The fn key is also the fn-lock key, and it's very easy to accidentally toggle the fn-lock. This is a huge PITA if you want to keep the function keys f1-f12, because a stray finger or using the fn-key for paging up and down (for example) would toggle the function keys into function mode again. Also, the light mysteriously goes off when the keyboard backlight goes off, so you can't really ever tell if the fn lock is actually on with any reliability. * Very uneven keyboard backlighting, to the degree that it looks like some of the letters are just plain broken * Very loud fan noise when 1060 graphics card is in use Basically, if all you want to do with this is sketch things, it should work fine. But that's not worth $2500 in my opinion; just get an iPad or one of the cheaper Surfaces. This is supposed to be the laptop that combines the pen-and-touch functionality of the other Surfaces with premium performance. It fails to do so, compromising too much along the process. I will be returning this laptop soon and probably opting for a Razer Blade 14" (if you want better performance for $1000 less) or maybe a LG Gram or Samsung Notebook 9 (similar performance minus the dedicated graphics, much lighter and much more affordable.) Would not recommend the Surface Book 2 unless you just want a very big drawing tablet with an excellent screen. It's not worth the price otherwise.

I LOVE this laptop! I held off writing this review for 5 months so I could be honest with it. (I purchased this laptop in late Dec., 2019) There are some questionable reviews, but buy it and use and see for yourself. Be sensible, when you use it, take care of it. As with any large tablet or laptop screen, don't throw it in a backpack or case/bag with a ton of other items to put pressure on any screen, causing cracked screens, and don't hold any tablet by the edge or corner! I am a musician, and I use this computer as a tablet, using a foot pedal to turn my pages, and the pen works fantastic for musician's markings on the touch screen. It works great as a tablet or as a laptop. So versatile, I use it for home and work, and it was definitely worth every $. I bought a screen protector, and I also bought a snap on hard plastic cover, because I wanted color :) Thanks for this wonderful laptop/tablet!!

Within 6 months from my purchase the dedicated NVIDA card stopped working. The system was frequently freezing, shooting down and rebooting due to the NVIDA card. I had to manually deactivate and uninstall the card. After another 6+ months USB ports and detach functions started to malfunction. Laptop was no longer usable, every time I tried to change the angle of the screen, laptop would freeze and turn off. Microsoft agreed to exchange the laptop after 1+ of use, and sent Surface Book 3. After first update, NVIDA stopped working, and most of the issues I had with previous laptop returned. Now, my laptop can't be moved when I'm working, because it will turn off, I can't use proper graphic card, can't play most of the games, and can't use it for work, because it's too unstable - freezes frequently. Please review Microsoft Support for a number of issues users had with Surface Book 2 & 3. DO yourself a favor, stay away from this laptop. The design is flawed, and Microsoft has not addressed the hardware issues when Book 2 & 3 were released. This is the biggest and most expensive mistake I've made with laptop purchase. There are plenty of other laptops, half price and so much more reliable and perform with no issues. STAY AWAY from Microsoft!

Love the laptop...very flexible....used to be a big MS fan and now this has brought me back. Keyboard is excellent, screen is awesome, I love the pen with onenote and whiteboard, I use the screen in studio mode to take notes and spec out system diagram. This has become my primary computer.

Purchased a brand new one on 04/28/2018 . I came back to my house and tried to set it up but the laptop refused to turn on. I tried re-starting it multiple times by long pressing the turn ON/OFF key + Volume Up key but nothing happened . The laptop got overheated when it turned on finally and also the screen froze for like an hour . I took it to the nearby BestBuy store on the same day and yet to receive my new one . I just hope it works and doesn't endup like the last one. I never really expected this from a laptop which is worth $2300 approx. I can provide more details of my purchase if needed .

I bought this computer because my completely outdated and almost impractical 2010 macbook wasn't able to handle the programs I needed for school. I purchased the 15" i7 with 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD due to a freak price match that shaved over $1500 off the price. Within a month, being especially careful with the new computer, the screen had developed an issue. I sent it in the be repaired, and the computer I got back was completely unusable. Every time I tried to use it, I received an error and :( requiring the computer to restart. I sent this back in to be repaired, and after 2 weeks of hearing nothing from Best Buy, called in to learn that my computer had been scrapped. Luckily, I had paid an extra $300 and gotten full insurance, so I was able to recoup the money I paid for the device, although I had to spend it at Best Buy still. Avoid this machine at all costs. I was told that this was not even an unusual issue and multiple people had returned their surface books. I have since bought an Asus Q536F Notebook and have had no issues in almost a year, and frankly it has better specs than the surface book for $2000 less.

Inlvoed this laptop, so fast and clear. LOTS of bugs over the years. Just uograded to Win 11 and did some updates and now I cannot turn it on. Not ok.

I took a chance on Microsoft, ditching my Macbook Pro for a Surface Book 2 thinking it would be a great move. What a mistake. This laptop was probably one of the slowest i7 Chip laptops I had ever tried. Even the cheap i5 HP I tried out was faster than this. Who cares about portability when the thing moves at a snails pace? For the amount of money you spend on this thing, you think it would run well. Plus it felt cheaply made and just not crafted the right way, square corners, looks cheap. I not only walked, I ran back to the Macbook Pro and bought a similarly priced Macbook that flies in comparison speed wise and is just better built. Skip this device, its horrible!
