Ok, maybe I just have bad surface luck. My initial surface pro 4 locked up and overheated in the first four hours of ownership. I returned it and decided to try the surface book after reviewing the features. I have had to make several support calls, had three factory resets, two overheating experiences, a few totally black screens and now the worst of all, it will not power up. I plan to call support in the morning. I like the specs, could be lighter, concerned about some if the reports I have recently read about the major drop in battery life. This unit has not been reliable at all. So far, overall I am quite disappointed however I really hope it is just this particular unit.

This is a great device to replace your laptop it is fast I run SQL on mine and a number of other high resource applications with no issues

I had to switch to a PC for work related reasons after using Mac for years. I found this computer to be very friendly and easy to use, and quite close to my MacBook Pro. So far, so good.

First one had an unfinished edge and a bit of light bleeding. Second one had ALOT of backlight bleed like a Christmas tree and one magnet for dispay sticking. Feels like a Beta product.

I like most things about my surface book except for the price. This is the only laptop with almost all the spec I wanted. Touch is something nice to have from time to time. Same thing for the detaching tablet feature, which I rarely use but still find it useful once in a while. I did ran into some minor issues like power drain and the camera for windows hello does not turn on when waking up from sleep. Most issues were resolved after a few updates. Hope this laptop last for a long time because it really has a hefty price tag.

I love this computer. I went in looking for a tablet and came out with a computer/tablet all in one. I love that I can use it for work and play. The battery life is amazing as well.

I tried the SP4 and the HP Spectre X360, which at that point didn't have pen support. The SP4 was just too uncomfortable for lap use, making it tricky to use while sitting in the airport. I needed something with a more traditional form factor. However, I'm learning to integrate my life with OneNote, so pen support and convertability were key. This checks all the boxes for me. It's a tad heavier than I'd like, but still lighter than my old machine. Plus, it looks good when I pull it from the bag.

I love my surface pro. It is easy to use. It can either be used as a lap top or like my I pad when I sit in my recliner. It's small and lightweight so I can take it everywhere.

I am still learning all that I can do with it. I love that it works as both a tablet and a computer. This is the second one we have bought for our family. Everyone loves it.

I purchased this to be my daily driver as a student, and I could not be any more impressed. It's portable, powerful, and had amazing security features. 10/10 would recommend.

The laptop functions a good as piers and its light, flexible. It works well in a domain environment. The tablet is heavier than many but provides an alternative for Windows use.

when i was doing research on a new laptop i thought this was going to be the best option on the market for my needs however my mind was changed almost immediately because my device crashed before i could even finish the setup process but i thought maybe it was a error on my part so i gave it another shot. well after two weeks 7 dreaded blue screen error messages 3 keyboard non-response fails and 2 complete power failures and the fear of computer crashing every time i remove the screen from the keyboard i have decided to bring it back and get the surface pro 4 instead. i believe the surface pro 4 is more durable for portability whereas this laptop looks great is slim but its better for desk work not great for on the go use.

As I am at the University, I needed something not complicated to record lectures. That is why I chose this unit and I love the touch screen and long battery life!!!

I love my Surfacebook. Lighter than most Pc's and easy to use! I considered getting a Mac, but I'm glad I went with my Surfacebook. The battery life is fantastic!

I bought a Surface Book before this but it was kind of heavy and I don't really need another tablet, the tablet screen was heavy and the angle of the screen can be only opened to a certain degree (~120). I am very used to a bigger open angle, so I returned it. Found this one with good touch panel resolution but lighter. The 512 GB SSD is good for my use. It comes with only one regular USB, and two USB C, if I want to connect it to HDMI, I need an adapter between USB C and HDMI. I used the $50 gift card to buy a wireless mouse and the adapter for HDMI, now I got everything I need. :)

Lightweight and powerful. Excellent balance between tablet and laptop functionality.

I love this system. The pen, the detachable screen. Good performance. Biggest con if the heafty price, really it's about $600 over what it should be priced!

I have had countless laptops, everything from Gateway to Apple and this is by far the best laptop I have ever had. I got this model because a 512GB SD card is only $199 and an i5 chip with 8GB RAM is enough for me. It's just as fast as the MacBook Pro 15" I had with an i7 and 16GB RAM, but the Mac was $2500 and had no touch screen, no tablet, much less battery life and weighed MUCH more! Photo editing is simple with the included apps. I am VERY happy with this purchase.
