Works on my Surface Pro (1) and Surface Pro (3) as expected... Just be aware that your surface might need to download drivers prior to having it work so you'll still need wifi for that.

I have a Surface Pro 2 with a docking station. The dock is only equipped with 100Mbps Ethernet, the addition of this little gem allowed my network file transfers to leap to 10x the speed of the dock. The value that BestBuy offered in this was totally worth the money.

Two issues: First, it only runs 100Mbps. Second issue: Best Buy carries a 3 port USB3 hub with a built in GigE port for about the same money. If you have a Surface, you already know the need for additional USB ports.

I love this display adapter. It works so much better than the first gen chromecaast on my surface pro 3. there were some minor issues with Win 10, but that has been fixed, Allows me to stream all of my sports and movies to my tv

The one frustrating aspect of the Surface Pro 4 is that you need an adapter to plug into an Ethernet connection, but in some environments it's necessary (i.e. poor WiFi). Glad they have the adapter.

This surface accessory is expensive but if you want to use the speed of Ethernet without the dock you will need this. On the other hand it is not needed because you can always use the WiFi connection.

The gig speeds are gig speeds via USB, great when heavy work is required and travelling (use docking station at the office).
