    Comparing Other Headphones

Not overly impressed with these, though I am a bit biased. This review will only pertain to those that are somewhat audiophiles and have a plethora of headphones to compare with. I'll start with listing pros and cons Pros: - Comfortable (for someone with big ears/head) - Lightweight - 180 degree rotatable cans Cons (for me personally): - Audio quality - Microphone quality - Build quality feels oddly fragile, or loose maybe? Hard to describe, but they just felt like you were holding/wearing a $50 pair of headphones - Noise cancelling was subpar I received these at a 50% discount for purchasing a Microsoft Surface device (which I also returned within a day of purchasing), and was not impressed, even with the $100 price tag. To those that may be curious and may be able to relate, I'm comparing these to the other headphones I currently own and use for travel/on-the-go with ANC (Bose QC 35-II/45, Apple AirPods Max, Sony WH-1000X) and headphones I've owned in the past but let go of (JBL Tune, Sennheiser Momentum). If you own any of these headphones, you will NOT be pleased with the Surface Headphones 2. They don't offer anything special that other headphones don't have (except Cortana, if you use her for some reason?). The noise cancelling doesn't come anywhere near Sony, Bose, nor Apple. The audio quality is bland, and if you attempt to tune it within the Surface App, it disappoints you even further. Begin to turn music up past 65% volume and you begin to hear the crackles and distortion, which no tuning will help with. Finally, answered a few phone calls and the microphone was unusable for anyone on the other line. They could hardly hear me over any slight disturbance, even a ceiling fan or a small breeze. Returned these whenever I returned the Surface device, knowing I wouldn't ever use them again.

These are a fantastic headphones. The noise cancellation is superb. The twist volume and noise cancellation mechanics are simple and feel great to use. The microphones pick up voice clearly for calls. They are really comfortable and I even use these when playing my classical guitar through them. With the noise cancellation, you feel as though you are in a studio. They sound great. Nothing can beat their functionality.

These are really good the anc is decent but I had to return them because for me the music was just not good enough for the bass ...Love the dials on the side but I wish one side would change tracks and not the anc levels but if you can deal with the lack of bass and want to make calls/zoom then these are for you

Just great! the sound is on par with other similarly expensice earphones. great things, 1. one touch on and off. No need to keep pressing until it is off. 2. It announces how much battery is left upon turning it on and it does so in time instead of percentage. 6 hours left, etc. 3. sound isolation adjustment with the turn of a wheel. one touch assistant, conversation, etc. It comes with its own case.

Loved the headphones & quality of sound. Downside, One year in, the top band snapped in half just trying to lift over head barely stretching them. Fragile product.

First off, the comfort is top knotch and the dial system for volume / ambient mode is very clever. However they do not sound as good as more expensive bluetooth headphones like the Airpods Max and Bose 700.

Fantastic headphones! I actually returned a pair of Bose 700 NC and switched to these. These are far more functional and audio quality differences were not noticable to me. The multi-point bluetooth works well, even with voip meetings from a remote PC. Super happy with these!

Perfect for Zoom/Teams calls. Blocks out a decent amount of background noise. Comfortable and pretty light way. Pairing with an iPad is only an app away. However, they shine when paired to my older Surface Pro.

The sony XM's have better sound. But this has a better mic for work and play. Bose 700 would have better sound and a mic that is JUST AS Good as these surface but that price tag for these was 230 vs almost 400 with tax from the bose. I didnt feel comfortable spending that much on something that goes in a bag i take everywhere and could get beat up. I really liked that this headset could be simultaneously connected to my phone and laptop which really won me over. I was like how come this isnt a thing for every high end headset? honestly if the Bose 700 could connect to my Phone, my Laptop and my gaming PC id have splurged and gotten those. But since i already have agaming headset for my PC. These seemed like a great work purchase for my phone and laptop.

Oval shaped over the ears gives better heat dissipation. Noise cancellation is excellent. Moreover, its handsfree with Cortana. Well designed with lot of mechanical parts for longer life. Disadvantage cannot be folded.

Great headphones while they last. Audio is great after some EQ tweaks and the noise-cancelling is a fun feature for office work. Build quality can degrade quickly, however. After only 8 months of owning these headphones, the rubber headband has begun to separate from the plastic body, and while the problem is minimal now it will definitely worsen in the future. Microsoft’s website is confusing and finding a way to replace or repair these is frustrating.

These are not the best noise cancelling headphones on the market but the feature set and performance is really good for the price. The volume and noise cancelling dials on the side of the headphones are so convenient that going back to headphones without them is not an option. The sound is flat out of the box but the EQ settings in the app actually makes a big difference. You can easily tune to your listening preference. Multi-Pair is a great feature as well and swapping is easy. Overall good product package for $100 less than the XM3s.

I wanted a good pair of over the ear headphones to use at home while working that I could also take a call on. All of my research lead me to these and the Sony XM4s, after going into Best Buy and trying them on, the surface felt more comfort for me and I really enjoyed the dials. I have used them daily for a few weeks now and have zero complaints, the dual connection makes it great to have setup on my work computer for calls and my cell for music without having to ever change anything. These may not be the best noise canceling out there, but for the price I think they are a great choice.

I bought these headphones at normal price, which is something I almost never do but I needed these for my remote classes. They do a good job of blocking out noise, but any loud or high pitched sounds will still get through, You have to enable the mic manually through Windows if you want to use it on Zoom calls. When I first purchased in July 2020, the Surface Headphones software in Windows still had some issues. For example, it would lose Bluetooth connection after waking my laptop from sleep mode. I'm happy to report that after some software updates, this no longer happens. Now I'm very happy with my purchase.
