Love love love
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop. It's beautiful and works wonderful. The only complaint i have is that the battery life is horrible. I've had it for about 2 weeks now and i charge it fully so that i can use it for school work. After about 3-4 hours of use I'll need to charge it again. It's incredibly annoying. I'm glad i purchased the geek squad protection for it because that's not something I'm okay with putting up with. I've tolerated it because it's an amazing laptop and it's so incredibly fast and easy to use.

Great Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely loved my computer. I would give it a 4 1/2 out of 5 if I could! I have only 2 negative things to say: 1) it gets extremely hot if I charge it and use it at the same time and 2) after 4 yrs it just never turned back on again. Motherboard failure and all my data is gone. Heartbroken to say the least. Other than that it is an amazing laptop! It failing can happen to any laptop so don’t be worried this will happen only to this brand. I use it mainly for school work and between storage & function, it has been great! Not turning back on out of nowhere still has me perplexed. My advice for any brand of laptop- BACK UP YOUR WORK/DATA TO ONEDRIVE!

Would be 5 stars if only....
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had a Surface Pro 4 for a couple of years and the only reason I felt it time for something new was because I cracked the screen and the battery isn't what it used to be. It actually still works very well when plugged in but, alas, time for a new one. So, I dropped big dollars on the Surface Laptop 3, Intel i5, 8GB, 256 SSD and expected it to be amazing since my lesser version was amazing. Touchscreen is fantastic, speed is great, everything was just what I wanted... and then within the first week it happened - the screen froze. Since it was the first time I laughed it off... "haha, a $1k+ laptop freezing on me.. must be a fluke". I looked up how to unfreeze it and was on my merry way. (FYI - Holding the power key and Volume up at the same time for about 10 seconds will perform a restart). Then it happened again. And again. And again. It happened daily and, at times, multiple times a day. So on to the Microsoft blogs I went and found out this happens to a lot of people and if you talk to Microsoft they give you generic answers. (e.g., restart using the trick I mentioned, check for updates, etc.). Someone posted a fix that worked for them by clearing their cache (done regularly anyway) and this part is what is the real fix, at least for me; increase your virtual memory. Link on how to do that is below. Anyway, there is a minimum suggested amount of virtual memory which is not set by default. My setting was much less. I changed the setting to force an increased amount to just above the minimum recommended on the same screen where you make the update and the maximum to twice that amount and I've not had a freeze since. (Granted it's only been a couple of days testing this but I use this thing a lot throughout the day and it would have frozen on me multiple times by now.) Had this computer came the way it should have and not frozen - definitely 5 stars! I'm back to loving this thing completely but still 4 starred this review to get people to see the potential issue. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance/how-to-increase-virtual-memory-in-windows-10-a/46dacaf5-15cf-4f5d-9d5a-cba1401ae4c9

Should combine areas of surface pro to laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I switched from a surface pro to the laptop and really enjoy the bigger screen, larger keyboard area, and ability to use as a normal laptop. The only drawbacks I do see is the position of the charging port makes it quite difficult to connect, unlike the surface pro where it was on the screen area and easier to connect. Small bother i know, but it makes a difference. Also, it does not have an expandable micro SD slot like the surface pro And there is no designated area for the surface pen, it just dangles akwardly on the front of the laptop. It works great though, I havent had any issues with it and is built very well. It is quick, boots up fast, and very light and sleek. Just wish they would make a magnetic area for the surface pen that I bought for 80 bucks

Does the job
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good laptop. Love its small size and light weight, makes it very portable. I’ve had it for a little over two years now and it’s held up well. Giving it four stars because the battery life has decreased significantly despite taking proper care of it. I can run it for about 2 hours before it runs out. And that’s without doing any heavy work on it, just light internet browsing and some YouTube watching. Overall, it’s good for the price. Would recommend as a laptop for every day use, not any heavy work like editing video, coding etc.

The best windows ultrabook
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just got a Surface Laptop 3. Here are my thoughts: Display: I really like it. I don’t really get why it’s a touch screen. It’s not a 2 in 1 and It’s a little awkward to use it as a touch screen. I like the aspect ratio and resolution. I wish it got a little brighter, but its a good, inoffensive display. Keyboard: Its the best laptop keyboard in a laptop. Period. Better than Apple's new magic keyboard. Build: Mine is all aluminum without the alcantara. Build is top notch for a Windows laptop. Matt Black looks great, but is a finger print magnet. Mine creeks a little when you hold it certain ways. Apple still has it beat in fit and finish. Trackpad: It’s great, once you get used to it. The top doesn't really click, the center and lower have a satisfying "click" and the bottom right registers as a right click. It’s really nice feeling and it’s nice to have a dedicated right click. Apple's track pad is still a little better feeling, but I think the Surface has better functionality. I would like it if it were a little bigger. Battery: Average at Best. I have been doing my work training on it and the battery seems to drain a little quicker than it would on my MacBook. but I feel like I could make it through the day if I lowered the brightness. Performance: My model is the base processor i5 1035 and G7 graphics with 8GB of ram. I would have preferred to get 16GB of ram, but Microsoft made 16GB only available with the i7 and I Just didn’t want to spend $1600. I plan on using this laptop to finish my degree, which will be your standard mix of writing and video conferencing. I will need to use virtual machines for some of my classes, but I have a desktop if I really did need more power. Biometrics: Windows hello is pretty awesome. It’s crazy fast to the point where you don’t really see the lock screen. I’m a big fan of face unlock and this is just better than fingerprint scanners. Final thoughts: I think Microosft really nailed the ultrabook. It’s a really lightweight, well designed machine with decent port selection, a good screen, great keyboard and trackpad with better specs than the base 2020 MacBook Pro, which is obviously the Surface Laptop 3’s main competitor. If you don’t need MacOS and don’t care about the Apple ecosystem, this is the Windows thin and lite to get .

My Surface Laptop 3
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shopped around looking for the right size, fit, compatablility for my use. Tired of the bigger laptop, which was 17' and quite heavy. The weight is just perfect whether in my carry bag or backpack. Lasting battery, and ease of use. Definitely in love with the processing speed. No endless waiting on things to load and/or download.

Lightweight
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s a perfect size and easy to carry it would be nice if it were a little easier to grip the surfaces kind of slippery. The screen is gorgeous and the speed is good for work. Overall I’m very happy with this computer

Good laptop, not the best
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've only had the Surface Laptop 3 for a couple weeks now, so I don't know how it'll hold up in the long term. However, right now, it seems to be a pretty good laptop with an EXCELLENT keyboard (for a laptop anyway). It has a few bugs like any new release. On mine, the brightness likes to change depending on what's on the screen, even with adaptive brightness turned off. The battery life is okay. I get roughly eight hours of Youtube playback (using Edge Beta) on battery saver mode without anything else running. One thing I LOVE about this laptop is that it runs so quietly. The only times the fans have even made noise is when I was installing updates for the first time and when I drained the battery to basically empty, then recharged it while using it. It does get pretty warm while doing that. The fans made a quiet whooshing noise instead of a high pitched whine like my old laptop did. The screen gets pretty bright and is nice and sharp. It does take a bit of getting used to having a taller screen though. I've only ever had the widescreen versions of laptops before. I've really come to like having the taller screen. I do a lot of reading on the computer and it's nice to have more screen real estate without going too large. I like the sleek minimal design of the chassis; however, the corners are sharp and can leave marks on your legs if using the laptop in your lap.

Great travel laptop, but lack of thunderbolt 3
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this laptop for working from home, and light travel. The Surface 3 looks very premium, and it is lighter than the 13 MacBook Pro and Razer Blade 13. This laptop does everything well. It has the latest 10th gen i5 quad core, 8 thread Intel processor along with Iris Plus graphic card. It is also running the CPU at 25 watts instead of 15 watts on some other 13 inch laptops, which makes it really snappy. The keyboard is great, but not excellent. Build quality is on par with MacBook Pro, which is a good thing. I would say this is one of the best 13 inch portable Windows laptop out there. With that being said, I am going to exchange this model for the 16GB version, which comes with the 10th gen i7 CPU as well. I feel like the 8GB ram won't be enough for some of the applications that I will be using. Also, the Iris Plus graphic card is sharing the ram as well. Lack of thunderbolt 3 support is also a big disappointment especially all the other 10th gen Intel laptops have it. Lastly, the glossy screen is a little distracting for me. Overall, the Surface 3 is great light and powerful ultralight laptop. I would go for the 16GB, i7 set up as the SSD is somewhat replaceable. Don't get it if you need thunderbolt 3 support and you can't stand glossy screens.

Good little tablet / laptop
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great, so far! Recommend a protector. Great touchscreen! Battery life, eh. Seems like the settings probably matter more than I've cared to work with them. When I fire up Adobe Fresco, the surface wants to change its power settings to get peak performance. Then, later it's in my bag. I take it out to use in class, low battery. I recommend buying more than one cord to keep in bag, near couch, at desk, etc. Also, didn't need a docking station, was able to buy two usb-c to HDMI cables to make duo monitors work.

Premium laptop
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disclaimer: I love this laptop and want to keep it for years to come, but i had to return mine because of a defective wifi card :( Outstanding features: Build quality matches the mac book pro. 3:2 aspect ratio is honestly the best screen ratio for productivity and only con is if you dislike the black bars while watching videos on youtube or netflix. Single hand open, personally don't care but its nice Colorful touch display, if you want touch great, if not its nice to have 10th gen processor, just the i5 better performance than 8th gen i7, better wifi speeds (IF IT WORKED >:c) Larger better smooth touch pad comfortable keyboard usbc finally upgradable storage Downsides: Expensive as is for the specs, and even more expensive for higher tier model, like 300 dollars extra for and extra 128 ssd is literally robbery. In other words bad value for specs. Cant upgrade ram, if you want 16gb for future proofing then you need to shell out 1600+tax 10th gen i7 is not a huge jump in performance from 10th gen i5 no thunderbolt three Overall: Still an amazing premium laptop that is worth buying during sales. Definitely not a power user laptop. Regular use is perfectly fine. Wish my model had a working wifi card :c, I got a replacement but in a different color than I preferred

Awesome Windows Laptop Computer!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having always used Toshiba Laptops, I was skeptical to buy another brand. I Recently, bought a 15 inch Dell Laptop, but returned it. I researched and was able to look into the Surface Laptop3. It’s not flimsy and is well built. I have not regretted my decision. It has worked as promised. As soon as you turn it on, you can log in. No bloatware came with it, so set up was quick and easy. The keyboard and trackpad are some of the best I’ve ever used. Laptop is slim and light weight. You also can’t beat the display and touch screen. I have not tried the surface pen yet. Now for the only issue I have encountered with this buy. The only issue is the battery does not last as advertised. I am only using if for email, Office, web surfing and college work. So if you need a quality Windows laptop that compares to an Apple air , this will certainly meet your needs. It’s an ultra portable workhorse.

Best "Surface" product ever made.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My favorite Windows laptop. One of my favorite laptops period, but the latest M1 MacBook Air really should be considered over this. It's cheaper, faster, has better keyboard, trackpad, reliability, speed and has a vastly longer battery life with perfect cellphone-like sleep functions. If it weren't for M1 MacBook Air, I would recommend this laptop all day every day. But there's a new king of the hill.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Laptop is very efficient. Has a long battery life. The fans are very soft and quiet. Very light in weight. The typing experience is fantastic. Never thought I would ever change from a MacBook to a Microsoft. One issue would be the self adjusting brightness. Overall, the laptop has been a spectacular investment so far!

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very fast, low. The touchscreen and not too heavy. Also very thin which is great! My only con I have of this is not for the product itself; I can’t seem to find any nice cases for it. Most cute cases are for Macs :/

Great value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was pretty impressed with the laptop. It’s pretty light weight and the battery life is pretty good. Great laptop with a few issues
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This would receive 5 stars except for a defect which have seen others complain about. There is an issue that at times it is difficult to power up. There does not appear to be any fix. You simply have to hold down the the power button for about 10 seconds. In addition, like so many new computers, memory is limited. Unless you are going to use cloud storage or are will to connect storage via USB you are limited as there is no SD card slot. Aside from these problems and limitations, it is a sleek, well constructed quick agile laptop. It is light and the slightly larger screed is a huge plus for me. Screen quality is excellent and the touch pad is responsive.

Good laptop, great screen
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great laptop in a beautiful color. I initially wanted the black one but this one shows less fingerprints. If you are wanting to do serious video editing on this you will probably be disappointed. This is for someone who is a business person looking to do zoom and skype calls, create documents and presentations, and interact with various microsoft programs. The battery life is great so you won't be tied to a charger all day. I wish that the selection of ports was greater but you can also purchase a microsoft dock to complement your setup.
