Exceptionally durable build quality + battery life

Prior positive experiences with Microsoft SurfacePro tablets convinced me to choose the new Surface Laptop 7 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus processor when my wife wanted a new Win11 laptop. Surface build quality is notably excellent. It looks good, feels good, and performs brilliantly with the new Qualcomm Copilot-compatible processor. The ARM processor provides unbelievable speed and battery life. I've had zero compatibility issues so far. Our prior Surface products are still in reliable service years after competitive products are typically dead and gone. Microsoft's build quality matters and is appreciated. Other features I particularly like? I prefer laptops without a right-side number pad to keep the touchpad centered. Check. The aluminum case is more rigid and lasts longer than plastic competitors. I love the touchscreen (which MacBook Airs don't offer). The Surface's large touchpad feels great and works consistently well. The screen has a notably narrow bezel. The magnetic power connection protects against cord trips becoming a disaster. It's hard to imagine a conventional laptop much nicer than this for under $1,000. The only feature I miss versus the SurfacePro is the micro SD card slot on the tablet (missing on the Surface Laptop). But since we own a SurfacePro as well, I'm covered when I need that functionality.

Best windows laptop ever for battery life performance and the greatest thing of all is microsoft, and ifix it both sell genuine microsoft original oem parts. You can get Replacement batteries, replacement screens replacement keyboards, charging ports, et cetera. Directly from the Microsoft parts store or from the I fix it part store, which sells genuine microsoft surface laptop 7 OEM parts. This laptop is the right to repair friendly laptop that dropped from heaven. Apple macbooks have ssds That are soldered in. If the's of these die, your laptop could never turn on again. While the Microsoft Surface laptop 7 uses 2230 SSD size that is replaceable, upgradable and most important of all, you can still have a functional laptop. If you're looking for a macbook like Windows laptop that has a macbook like trackpad with haptics, a great keyboard, great screen, great battery life and great performance, and most important of all, repairability. This is the laptop to get.

Review of the Microsoft Surface Laptop (7th Editio

After using the Microsoft Surface Laptop (7th Edition) for a full year, I feel equipped to provide an honest assessment of its performance. From a design and specifications standpoint, the device is well-built, sleek, and portable. The display quality and overall hardware performance are suitable for everyday tasks such as browsing, streaming, and light productivity work. However, my main concern has been performance consistency. Throughout the week, I frequently experience lag, especially when multiple programs are running simultaneously or when I have a large number of browser tabs open. While the laptop handles basic daily use reliably, it does struggle under heavier multitasking loads. For someone like me, who stays busy on the computer and often needs to run several applications at once, this limitation is noticeable. That said, for users with lighter workloads, the Surface Laptop may still be a solid choice. Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 The Surface Laptop (7th Edition) offers good specs and a strong design, but its performance under multitasking falls short of expectations. It’s a decent option for casual or moderate use, but power users may want to explore other alternatives.

So happy to have made this purchase. Buying a laptop or PC can be so stressful sometimes with all the options out there. Luckily the sales rep knew exactly what would work for my family. This PC has all the needed apps so it’s very easy on the eye. There isn’t too much going on to where you don’t know where to go. I love the AI program it has. I can basically ask it exactly what I need & it will take me there. It also has so many options in the background if you choose to use them. The screen is so clear and the colors are very vivid. Purchased it for myself but my teenage son loved it so much he never gave it back. Will be buying a 2nd one.

Went into Best Buy because I was so overwhelmed looking at laptops online. There were so many contradicting reviews and I just couldn't tell which laptop would be a good fit for me. I was helped immediatley and shown a handful of different computers and gave me all the specs. Ended up going with the 7th Edition Surface and I couldn't be happier! It is one of the best laptops I have used and does everything I need it to and then some. I use it a great deal for work and also for crafting, web browsing, and socials. The games are pretty great too! I love the Copilot feature! Highly recommend!!

I wanted a laptop that was light and could be up dated with new up dates for the next few years for a decent price. This laptop is easy on the fingers to type and the number keys are easy to reach. So far it has been easy to use when switching from my HP computer with the number keys on the right to this one.

Upgraded from a 2020 MacBook Air and my goodness has tech come a long way. Love the AI interface and speed at which it runs. Got my 365 package and have had no issues after this first month with it. Love the scratch resistant paint! You can take a key and scratch the heck out of it and just wipe it off like nothing happened.

Laptop didn't even last a year before the graphics in it died. White Banding across the screen. Waste of $800 due to inconvience of repair by shipping to MSFT! Will not buy again.

I was skeptical about switching from an HP (which I had for 8 years) to a Microsoft Surface, but I'm glad I did! This laptop has everything I wanted, from touchscreen capabilities to a large view for only a 13.8 inch screen. So far I am pleased with it. The battery is great, and I look forward to continue using it.

Not sure why the other reviews were so negative - maybe different expectations? - but I used 15% battery browsing the internet for 2-2.5 hours, which is about equal to expectations. After the initial updates the laptop is quiet and very fast - yes, some programs don't work fully, so if you have programs you absolutely need to run, doublecheck first! - but everything I need works, and the experience is very Macbook-esque (just with a working camera login system and with an ingenious system to remove the bottom by removing detachable rubber feet - so you can upgrade storage very easily). I wasn't expecting copilot to do anything and am honestly kind of relieved it was removed for the release (for now ...). If you're looking for a snapdragon laptop this should be it, and it should probably be considered highly if you're looking for a laptop for general tasks.

I’ve been using the Surface Laptop Copilot+ PC (7th Edition) for a couple of weeks, and it’s a solid performer overall. Pros: Premium, lightweight design Crisp 13.8" touchscreen—great for work and streaming Fast Snapdragon X Plus processor Helpful Copilot+ AI tools like Recall and live captions Cons: Some older apps don’t run as smoothly (ARM chip limitations) Only USB-C ports—would love more options 256GB SSD may be tight for large file storage Bottom line: A great everyday laptop with AI-powered features, solid speed, and beautiful design. Just keep in mind the app compatibility and storage if you're a power user.

Pros: Excellent screen Good processor speed Cool and quite Good battery life Cons: 1. Quality control, the first unit I bought doesn't sit flat when the lid is open. The second unit is much better. 2. Maybe some firmware issues, the touchpad sometimes has weird acceleration and jumps around. If you search online this is a pretty widespread issue since launch. 3. The glass has no gasket around it, it feels fraigile.

TLDR; it's a win Don't understand any of the hate on this device it's honestly pretty amazing. I'm a diehard Mac user, I've been spoiled by their ARM laptops for years. This laptop honestly made me lowkey fall in love with Windows again. The Snapdragon X Series of chips are no joke. Windows feels snappier than ever, battery life is amazing, app compatibility is OK but it will get better. Microsoft just knows how to build a laptop. The quality is on par with the M series of MacBooks. Excited to see how these devices evolve as the software improves. So, if you're in the market for an all-around snappy, responsive, long lasting, and well-built laptop, look no further.
