The ultrabook is still a good laptop and performs well, however this Surface Pro has exceeded all of my expectations. It has been a great purchase and I love working on it on a daily basis. I bought a keyboard for it as well, which has made it a true pleasure to use. It easily runs circles around both my ultrabook (which I love) and the IPad.

This machine was very nice and had it not been for the faster processor and the "black" option on the Surface Pro 6 I likely would have kept it. This makes my third surface machine and I've been happy with all of them for their power, screen quality, and portability.

I finally took it to the Microsoft store and after an hour of reloading and attempting to fix the problem, they pulled out a brand new one, brought it up to speed and sent me on my way. Not one problem since... My only other issue is battery life. I really didn't need the top of the line Surface Pro. But by doing so, the one I got has a built in fan. My friend has one without a fan and he has considerately much longer up time than I do. I would recommend getting one without a fan.....

Great for my College Kid!

After his first week he came home to visit and said this laptop is AMAZING. He said it does all kinds of things that benefit him while taking notes, etc. in class. He did say that the pen is a must have though. So, make sure you buy it. It's about $100 but it helps him a lot. He said it's super fast too and only takes a few seconds to boot up. He loves it.

Nice but internal network card failed

This means no Wi-Fi and no Bluetooth. I tried going back to a Microsoft store and they just would not work with me. So I have a Surface Pro with no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. I had to purchase a dongle that was both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in one. I now use up my USB port for that. To make matters worse when I need to do a Microsoft update it won't let me update because it can't find the proper Hardware since it is failing. This is been just a nightmare.

I started using One Drive, which is Microsoft's version of the cloud and added a portable backup hard drive. My plan is to leave my older laptop at the house and use the Surface in the field.

It is fast with Microsoft Excel. Quickbooks, and PDF editing and viewing. Being able to hand write notes is also extremely helpful - especially when signing contracts and skipping the step of printing, signing, and scanning to send it back in an e-mail.
