I love the speed, size and battery life of this Surface, If you do the normal stuff like browsing, emails, social stuff then you will be good with this model. If you are planning on doing serious gaming then I would step up to the models with a faster processor, better graphics chip, and larger ram size and drive space.

This is more than a tablet because of the interface with Microsoft Office. I am an English professor here and needed a lightweight laptop because I walk quite a distance to get to my classroom from the parking lot. My old laptop weighed in at 5.75 pounds - this one is ultralight and easy to use although if you don't touch the keyboard for more than 5 seconds, the screen has a tendency to switch itself off (?) - this can get a little inconvenient while lecturing. The Surface is not as intuitive as the Mac - installation of the software was a bit of a pain because you had to have a Chrome account before installing, which I didn't have. Here's an idea: why not sell the Surface with the Office software already loaded on it so you don't have to fiddle around with software codes and figure where to enter them? That would have saved about two hours of aggravation. This is what stops me from giving it a 5 star review. Nevertheless, I am thrilled with the weight of the Surface (at 1.7 pounds) and at the sale price, I basically got the keyboard for free. The keyboard is very easy to operate and typing on it is a breeze. I'm learning more about it and what it can do all the time, and I am looking forward to buying the Surface pen and Dial to start drawing with it.

Excellent speed, great display annd convenience of the detachable keyboard is awesome! My only wish is that it could lay flat on your lap like a japtop. The little stand makes that difficult.

Works great; easy setup. Love this light weight, and speed seem good so far. Much easier than the laptop I was using.

I have been looking at the Microsoft Surface Pro for over a year! I've read all the reviews and when this one was offered at such a great price I jumped right in!. I have an HP Envy that has served me well but is heavy and the Microsoft Surface Pro is so much more portable with all of the features and more! I'm a senior citizen and found this laptop to be perfect for the type of serving and gaming I do!

i am currently working on my undergrad and this laptop/tablet comes in handy for school. Its light which helps me carry all around campus. using the stylus is great for taking notes too! helps keep all my notes organized for school instead of in a messy notebook. only downside is that i have to make sure its charged unlike an actual notebook, but good thing the battery lasts a long time

I bought this laptop to replace an old one I had for 3 years and after reviewing many options I picked this one because of its size, weight and portability features. In addition touch screen and a very familiar OS made it easy for me to decide.

Ive been lugging around a "traditional" laptop on all my trips for years and finally wanted something smaller. Always was intrigued by the Surface since it has a keyboard and I am glad I pulled the trigger. Pounds less than my laptop and gets the job done just the same. Might not have a BLU RAY drive but with wi-fi I can NETFLIX my heart away.

I bought this on special but was a little skeptical about its usefulness to me. I have generally bought Apple products, and I have to say I am delightfully surprised at how good this hybrid tablet/laptop is. The only thing I noticed that could be a minus depending upon your needs is its 4 gb memory but for my purposes (email, facebook, light gaming, web surfing, occasional documents) it is very very capable. Would give it 5 stars if it had more memory at the price I paid.

I like this tablet/laptop. It is very compact and easily placed in a backpack or larger purse to carry everywhere one can go. I am starting my credential program and this tablet/laptop is going to make my life easier. I just wish because it is a Microsoft product that they would include Office 365 with the cost of the product.

I bought this as a secondary windows portable, primarily for use in routine tasks when I did not want to be tied to my desk. I use it like a laptop, so there may have been less expensive, more traditional options that would have done the job, but I have been curious about Windows tablets, so when this came up for sale with the cover included, I jumped on it. The utility of this machine, as with any computer, is going to depend on the tasks you want to perform with it. Since I mostly use it for document editing, I can't imagine using it in tablet mode would be a very good experience. The Type Cover is always attached. It actually doesn't work so well sitting on a lap. On my short-legged, overweight frame, the stand is not sufficient to keep the tablet from falling off. I have not used it in tablet mode, but i notice that it gets rather warm. Leaving the cover on and folding it to the back should provide enough insulation. Feeling the keys press as you hold it is a little disconcerting, but the system knows to ignore that when the keyboard is at the back. As with any compact keyboard, the Type Cover makes some compromises to save space. I would have happily given up some real estate on the spacebar, cursor keys, and left Ctrl key to get at least another Ctrl key on the right. As a visually impaired user, I also wish there was another way to tell whether the function keys are going to be function keys or perform their alternate functions when pressed besides a light under the Fn key. It seems the function toggles even when the Fn key is being used in conjunction with other keys. For example, when editing, one can use the Fn pluss arrow keys to access Home, End, Pgup and Pgdn keys. This is handy, but also seems to toggle the function key row. Performance is good, at least for daily tasks. I have not done anything to tax the machine, but I do not notice a significant difference between the Surface and my more powerful desktop PC with routine activities. The facial recognition feature for login works great, even with my inability to look at the camera. I don't know what that means regarding the system's ability to be fooled, but that doesn't concern me at the moment. I've had the Surface just a few weeks, but it is serving it's purpose well, even though I do have to use it on a TV tray. A traditional laptop might have served me better, but I am not unhappy with my purchase. It's compact, looks neat, and performs well. If you live in a Windows world and want a tablet, this is a good choice. In my view, the Type Cover inclusion is a must.

I am so pleased with the Microsoft Surface Pro. It's incredibly versatile as a tablet or laptop. It's quick and responsive to multiple applications and browsers running simultaneously. I love how compact it is yet fully functional as my primary computer for working on the go and at home/office. The keyboard feels and responds like a real desktop keyboard, much more than other laptops I've had. I use my Surface for Microsoft Office applications (word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentations), not design or other illustrating programs. I am totally happy with this purchase and would recommend the Surface Pro to others.

I recently switched from a Samsung Galaxy Book and this Surface Pro is by far the best hybrid I have ever used. The computer has great battery life, is responsive for all daily tasks, and integrates perfectly with all your accessories and devices. Highly recommend this item!

I have thus far enjoyed this product. Looks to be a very capable tablet/laptop hybrid. Should have considered better cpu and more memory, but at the sale price, it was worth it. Thus far has been a very level competitor to Apple iPad Pro at half the cost.

I like the light-weight, compact size of this device. I find the keyboard to be comfortable and responsive to use. The display is both bright and sharp; that's a good thing. I also like the fact that it doesn't have fans or make noise; it's very quiet.

I absolutely love this surface pro. It is very light and easy to carry around. The keyboard lights up, you can flip it underneath the screen, and use it as a tablet. The set up was easy and it didn't take long to figure out how to use it.

To start, this replaced my 18” Dell laptop I’ve had since 2009. This starts up faster, runs smoother and battery lasts days. Super light weight, easy to carry anywhere and simply works great! Price for the package including the detachable keyboard is outstanding and well worth it. Only con I can see if the 128gb hard drive can get to small real quick if you plan to save photos, videos, etc on your tablet. Must have a good external hard drive if your planning to replace a computer with a large hard drive.

I recently started an MBA program and needed something that would replace my 7 year old laptop. I needed something that was light weight. I like that it can be a laptop or tablet. It's easy to use on the bus to and from work.
