I have an IPad and a Laptop this replaces both. I was tired of caring my laptop through airports this solves the problem. There are things on the IPAD that I like but there are so many more features with the Surface Pro 2

Really love this - but with it had a better docking station - I prefer to use 2 or 3 monitors at my desk and if it were easy to connect separate monitors - this would be perfect

The Surface Pro 2 is the best on the go full computer system out there. Speedy at startup, shutdown and in between. I use the product strictly got business and it has been relatively flawless. Look forward to learning more of what it can do as I go!

I purchased the surface pro to have a small compact all purpose device for work. The touch screen works as well as an apple product. I switched to this because iPad was not compatible with work programs. I have had no issues and I would buy it again.

All good-easy to use and set up-battery life is short but other than that product is outstanding

easy to set up and start; size is good and you can expand the info on the screen if it is too small; I bought the cover/keyboard and am having some issues with that; the keyboard needs the connections cleaned almost daily or the keyboard does not work. it does have an onscreen keyboard also which is nice if you are in the middle of something when the attached keyboard quits; sometimes IE opens a new page instead of a new tab like I had chosen. Restarting solves the problem.

I work in the IT industry, and I'm constantly researching new technology (Network Engineer) and studying various technical certifications. SP2 has the performance I need. I have several virtual software which emulate the environment I am studying for, and this bad boy performs like a champ. I can't put enough emphasis also on the pen. I use onenote for taking notes or sketches. The hand writing gesture is amazing. The browser is extremely fast. I would recommend buying a USB 4 mouse which makes it lot easier to naviagate and you won't lose the USB port with the other type of mouse. I do have the keyboard/cover. I purchased several accessories on amazon for my SP2. I like how it syncs with my desktop which is running window 8.1 as well. You will not be disappointed with your purchase.

If not for the type cover it would get a five star for sure. I love this thing. Starts in no time. Works all day on a charge. Weighs nothing. Very responsive and intuitive. I swear it reads my mind. Runs 8.1 which was a breeze to set up and personalize. Some glitches at first but now runs smoothly. Microsoft surface support people are very helpful but no one has a fix yet for the unreliable type cover. It is working now but who knows next time I have to restart the machine. Once keyboard is fixed my review will be adjusted to a five star. Yes, both keyboard and surface pro 2 have been replaced. Its a driver issue and an issue with Office 365 installation I suspect. Not sure yet.

As an original surface owner I can tell you that this surface is the perfect upgrade , although the chasis stays the same, the 8gb ram and haswell 4th gen processing makes the performance amazing on this tablet hybrid. And the best part almost double battery life

I'm sure I can think of a worse decision. Bought this mainly because it had Office loaded. That was the good part. Can't run old programs on it. Can't download comparable new programs; in fact can only download from Microsoft store. Limited number of apps available. Can't put a decent browser like Firefox, or even Chrome, on it; have to use Internet Exploder (sorry, Explorer). Can't even do something as simple as play Angry Birds. I would even add one star if I could find a decent app to record .mp3s on the Surface. But it does have Microsoft Office, which is still a plus.

This Surface Pro 2 512gb version is as fast and sometimes faster than my HP I7 processor tower for basic office functions and photo/video editing. The two computers sit side-by-side on my desk so it is a daily comparison. I am waiting for the Surface Pro 4 - I may replace my tower with it. The Surface Pro 2 travels to my office - I take notes on it - I use it all day - it goes home and slides into its docking station without missing a beat.

I think most of my problems with this device are not inherent to the device, but to its OS, and also its keyboard (which I've reviewed separately; the Type Cover 2 gets one star). I love how small it is. I like how nicely the keyboard goes on and off. But Win8.1 will be the death of me. In the two weeks that I've had this computer, I've had to restart it twice because it just stopped taking typed input, both from the attached keyboard and the touchscreen. (Not sure if that's a Win8.1 problem or a Surface problem.) I have gotten errors trying to copy and move files, which I have NEVER experienced before, not even with the dread WinME. And even though I reviewed it separately, I must repeat here the trackpad portion of the Type Cover 2 is DREADFUL. Keyboard part is nice, but the trackpad is nigh nonfunctional. Would I recommend to a friend? Not at this time. If Win9 and Type Cover 3 address the issues of the current models, maybe.

Not a review as much as an observation that bb's specs are incorrect. The 512BB version comes w/8GB RAM... not the 4GB listed on the spec page for the unit.

I have had this since March of '14 and while it was very usable and my favorite computer to use daily. This summer when I upgraded it to Windows 10, it has really come into its own and now my wife wants once, time to start saving up for a Surface Pro 4!
