This is My Fourth Surface Pro (And Maybe My Last)

This is the fourth Surface Pro I have owned. All have had the I-7 processor. This is a great alternative to a Laptop. And because it has the power and features of a laptop it is way better for business use than an I-Pad or any other tablet (I have a couple of them also). One issue I have faced with my Surface Pro's has been the graphics. The graphics on this one seems to be a little better than my previous version, I would have difficultly with it during video-conferencing. It seemed it could not handle both (I would end up sounding garbled. On this one I still experience it, but it only on rare occassion. Having had three previous Surface Pro's, one other thing to note is that the batteries lose most of their life after about three years. Replacing the battery is not for the do-it-yourselfer. So figure this will have a three year life span. That is about how often I would get a new laptop anyway, so for me it is not an issue. You can continue to use it, but you will need to plug it in or have an external battery handy. The plus side of this is that compared to a laptop it is much lighter and easy to carry around. I use it as my everyday computer and usually with an external keyboard. I like that I don't have the laptop-type keyboard in front of me (in addition to my full-size wireless keyboard), thus saving me space on my desk. That said this will probably be my last one though. I used to travel a lot and the size and weight made it really great for travelling. But not so much now. So I don't think it will need to spend the additional money.

It seem like its not built for running for a long time, because I was on it for about 2 hours on a live stream then it got hot and froze up on me. That was not good.

Hi Kay – We're sorry that there's an issue with your Surface. First, we recommend updating its software and firmware to the most recent version. If that doesn't help, please run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit to diagnose and fix any problems. For more information on the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit, please go here: https://aka.ms/AA4r432 If that doesn't take care of the problem, we recommend that you contact Microsoft Support for assistance here: https://aka.ms/AA4rbq6 Hope that helps, Erica Surface Customer Care Microsoft

I use my Surface Pro 7 for a digital drawing tablet. I love it except it heats up WAY too hot for my liking. I am also a computer technician and I understand the heat will fry my computer faster than it should. I keep a fan on it and I keep a watch so it doesn't get too hot. I turn it off to let it cool off which is ridiculous for a $1,500 computer. I guess we get what they give us. It's working mostly for what I need. It also seems really slow for an i7.

The computer itself is fine but I don’t like having to key a separate keyboard that is also to small in my opinion with people who have xx large hands like I do.

I am so very disappointed. Too small screen!! WILL NOT consistently connect to a larger second screen! If I use the pen to draw my arm and hand ache from the vibration. Do not buy this one unless you can see the tiny screen and can put up with the Microsoft connection issues.

Great portable pc/tablet. Loved it. Plays games pretty well like the Sims 4, Spore, City Skylines to name a few. Great for Microsoft Applications, or every day use. If your thinking about getting it, you should!

The battery life of this unit is inferior. The unit actually has two batteries, one in the tablet and one in the keyboard. The keyboard battery is the more powerful. But neither lasts long enough for my taste. The cord is needed for travel, it is big brick and specialized to the unit. USB port will not power the device.

Thanks for so artfully hiding that this Surface Pro 7 comes with Windows Home instead of Window Pro. Shaves a hundred buck of the price, but adds to the annoyance. I think I am done putting up with these kinds of stupid tricks. The product is ok, but Microsoft always manages to tick me off. Too, bad no other Tech company evens tries to go up against this bully.

A superb computer if you have tons of money

I absolutely love this computer. It is a very well thought out and designed product that fits all of my needs with the exception of one huge need - Microsoft Office. Seriously? I paid $1,300 for the tablet, $136 for the keyboard, $60 for the Arc mouse, and $80 for the Surface Pen that arrived with a dead battery. Now I have to pay to add Microsoft Office? This computer is turning out to be a huge money drain. To top it all off, Office 365 Home and Business costs $250 for one time but does not include Publisher or Skype and several other business applications. For the complete package you have to pay $9.99 per month, which will exceed $250 in 26 months. I hate to be nickel and dimed to death and Microsoft excels at this apparently. It's too bad that I did not realize this until after I made my purchase. Do your homework before buying because there are other computers out there that include Office and peripherals for less money.
