My most favorite laptop as it is extremely portable and functions in so many facets.

A bit of an upgrade from the regular type cover. Like that I can use it detached, along with the bigger touchpad area. Typing feels a bit better as well, slightly more heavier feeling on touch. Overall great!
Awful battery life and very finicky about charging

Loved it when I first opened and started to use it. Then I realized it reminds me of a very finicky eater.... Won't charge by way of thunderbolt for dock. Won't charge unless the machine (I have a surface pro 9) is fully charged and charging by of the proprietary port on the right. Won't charge if it's closed. I'm hoping a surface update will fix this because I went back to my Logitech in the meantime.

I've been using Surface Pros since the SP4. Currently I'm on a 2 year old SP9 and my SP11 is shipping and will arrive in a few days. So I grabbed this.
I saw in a review that someone talked about folding the end underneath for a bit of tilt while it was detached - mine absolutely will NOT do this, so the detached feeling is not great, it being completely flat on the surface. I like something with a bit of tilt to the top end. Maybe as it is used that will loosen up more, we'll see.
But the keyboard is a much different feel now that I have it on my SP9 for the time being. Better key travel, much more solid base so there's little flex while in use.
Using it removable is a handy feature but not what I purchased this for, since my use scenarios for that are limited to none. I wanted the keyboard and trackpad update.
And the trackpad - MUCH better than the previous keyboard. I'm a fan now of the haptic trackpad. I got to use one for a day or so on the Surface Studio 2 Laptop I tried (and returned for horrible battery life) so this feels very much the same. Such a change over the old style. I actually find that I *DO* click by pressing on it, not just touch clicking, and had to return a keyboard still under warranty to Microsoft when the buttons for the keypad click stopped working. This new style would prevent that from happening.
Magnet holds it just as well as the previous one did, although it's odd seeing the pen now when it's attached, rather than being hidden up against the bottom of the Surface out of sight.
But for anyone using a supported device, this is well worth the cost just for the feel and performance enhancement for typing and using the trackpad.

Very nice addition to the surface keyboard family. Normally I won't pay the premium for the this keyboard but i came into a little money and decided to try it out. Out the box, it immediately feels heftier then the other Surface Keyboard. Perhaps due to the extra layers of material they added. Keys have a very nice, smooth feel and the trackpad is very responsive. The haptic feedback feels a heck of lot better. It connected just fine and as soon as i booted up the surface pro, it brought up the Surface application and prompted me for a firmware update. Here's where i took off one star.. it took 3 tries for the firmware to install. It kept saying "Firmware could not be installed". Thats it.. not reason why, nothing.. after the third time, i just ignored it and 5 minutes or later, i checked again an it now said "Firmare up to date". Other than that, the keyboard has a premium feel to it and works really well. I have not had the issues others have had that it won't work when disconnected from Surface pro.. Hope this review is helpful to you all.

I like the Flex better than the usual Surface Pro Keyboard. No problems with recognition or changing to keyboard mode when connecting. So nice to be able to disconnect and keep right on typing, very handy in certain space limited circumstances. I am happy for open box deals at Best Buy, probably wouldn't have bought if I had to pay full price.

I bought this for use with my wife's Surface Pro 11. We wanted a keyboard for use with the Surface and being able to have the keyboard at one place while the unit was on a table was important. It works just as advertised. The keyboard is NOT a full sized one, as it doesn't have the separate number pad on the right side, but it's big enough. The back light is also key because our old keyboard didn't have one and it was terrible to use at night.
Some people have an issue with typing a lot on the keyboard and I understand why. There's no wrist rest so typing a lot gets tiring. Kudos, however, on the touch screen mouse area. Super sensitive and really nice to use. With the touch screen monitor and the sensitive mouse area, it really makes it easy to use. I got it on sale at BB and really couldn't be happier with it.

This is a bit overpriced, but so are the other brands.
I do a lot of typing. This keyboard feels good for long typing sessions. Keeys have good movement and are comfortable.
I bought this because I wanted a detatchable keyboard. This makes it easier to get into a relaxed typing position while on the road.
It was a bit pricey, but considering how much better the typing experience is, and the good battery life while detached, it is worth it. I used to carry a separate keyboard, but that defeats the purpose of the tablet. This gives me the option of using it as a cover, or as a desktop keyboard.

- Nice to be able to use the keyboard while not physically attached to the Surface Pro.
- Like the backlit keyboard. "Discovered" backlit keyboard concept with my Surface Pro 3 and now would not have a laptop keyboard without it.
- Not sure it would be worth the $400 list price for me, but caught it on a Deal of the Day for $200, which was acceptable
- At this price it does not come with a touch pen, but I can always catch one of those on sale at some point
- Track Pad mouse is smooth and responsive. Amazing that the clicks are actually haptic feedback and not clicking / physical deflection in the mouse button areas (which are adjustable in size)
- Keys have nice travel and tactile feel
- Keyboard feels more firm/rigid than the keyboard on the Surface Pro 3. Feels more like a high-end device

Love this keyboard! The ability to pull it off of my surface and have it on my lap with full keyboard and trackpad functionality while the surface is on a table is even better than I thought. It's not at all cheap, but there were open box options that were much more affordable, so I did that. Highly recommend

It offers the flexibility of using the keyboard attached or detached. While it is a bit pricey, you may occasionally find it at a discounted price, even as an open box item.
The pen is flawless if you are a heavy user. Highly recommend.

Better than expected. Pricey? Yes. But after watching MULTIPLE review videos, I thought it was likely worth it, if just for Bluetooth connectivity. My expectations for build quality and technology were already high- but after getting it, I was still surprised at how good it actually is. Amazing key travel and spacing for a great typing experience. Haptic trackpad is everything you want in a track pad, flexibility of being Bluetooth is a must for the full 2 in 1 experience.
You’re paying a premium sure. And is it a MUST? No. But it sure does feel premium if you do get it.

The flexibility of being able to work with the keyboard detached is a game changer and makes the high-cost worth it. It is much easier when switching between writing and typing with this keyboard. Additionally, the versatility has been extremely helpful when working in a coffee shop or small table.

Haptic touchpad is extremely underrated - makes a world of difference! Being able to work with the keyboard detached is also a luxury that seemed gimmicky at first but I end up doing it all the time on the couch.

Amazing keyboard that is great to type on for extended periods. So nice it can be detached and used with Surface Pro that is physically away from keyboard.

Although I have used this keyboard for less than a week, I think the pro flex is well made, easy to use and is a necessity for a working professional. Definitely a welcome addition!

I love it! I've had three other surface pro keyboards and this one by far is the best keyboard I've owned. I LOVE that you can use it wirelessly. Worth the cost!

I bought the Surface Pro that came with the standard keyboard, but didn't realize it is not Bluetooth enabled. I wanted the option of using a keyboard while detached from the tablet, so I bought this. It's an expensive upgrade, but it was worth it for what I need it for. The keyboard is more sturdy, and it works perfectly.
