Once I received the Surface Pro X, and the Signature Keyboard w/ pen I put the computer into the keyboard. I love the Surface Pro X (see my review) I am very impressed with it. And that is coming from an Apple fanatic. BUT, I am not as impressed with the Signature Keyboard with Slim Pen. (The pen is a great asset - the case not so much). As far as the outside of this case, I like the feel, the “top” cloth like material is nice. The bottom is tacky enough that it doesn’t slide around. The problem I have is with the inside. The keyboard itself is well laid out. It is comfortable to type on it, as I am now, the keys are responsive and have the same feel as if you are typing on a computer keyboard. I have no problem with the layout. I have no problem with the Slim Pen storage, its out of the way until you need it, and removing and replacing into its storage slot is easy. (More on the pen later) My issue is with the case itself. It doesn’t seem to fit exactly right. I don’t like the way you use the stand, it seems to me like the Surface Pro itself could dislodge and come out of the slot. I am not much on the case, the Slim Pen is another story. I love it, way better than the Apple Pencil. I love how it feels in your hand, I love the response it has with the Surface Pro X. I love how you can transition to a white board seamlessly. I love how easy it is to write, draw, edit, or just doodle, its fun to use. Microsoft hit a home run with the Slim Pen. They flew out to the catcher on the case. That’s the reason for my 3 stars, if I could have just reviewed the Slim Pen - 5 STARS The Signature Keyboard case - 1 Star.

The keyboard was very premium and nice to the touch. It was pretty wobbly when using it on my lap. The mouse pad is nice. I loved the shorcut features at the top row. The built wireless housing for the pen was nice. It charges your pen. Only problem, I could not use the tap or push features on the pen. the carpenter pen was awkward to use as it was not a traditional pen style. I like where Microsoft head is at with this keyboard design. They outpace Apple here. I returned it as I returned the surface pro x.

With the backlit Signature Keyboard attached, the Surface Pro X transforms into a rough approximation of a laptop. You can even adjust the magnetic keyboard so it's attached at an angle for better typing comfort. Still, the experience is not comparable to using an actual laptop. The Surface Pro X is clumsy if you're trying to prop it up on your lap, where I found it to be quite prone to sliding between my legs if I moved them too much. In addition to the Signature Keyboard, Microsoft also offers a $140 keyboard without the Slim Pen or its holder.

I love it. It easy-to-use. And love the pen too but a little to pricey for my liking.

The keyboard cover is not very well built, I would have liked to see a sturdier keyboard cover. I also think they could have designed a better pen.

I gave 3 stars only because it won't connect if you're using a case which is very inconvenient. Other than that it works great. Very strong connecting magnets and great felling material.

I feel you shouldn't have to buy the keyboard separately but I love that you don't have to use it.

First pen that came with it was DOA. Keyboard was fine. Replaced the whole combo and seems to work. The double-click feature does not always function correctly.

Purchased it for my wife’s 7 and the magnetic connections wouldn’t work. Plan on returning it for another one to trouble shoot it.
