    I purchased this because I was trying to lay an image down using WDS and a custom image that we use. I was trying to use this on a Surface Book. I tried several USB to RJ45 adapters but according to MS you have to use a Microsoft USB to RJ45 adapter. After trying several other adapters including a Dell USB-C to RJ45 adapter, This adapter is the only one that would even recognize the WDS server. Mind you I have laid down this image on over 50 Dell PCs so I know it works and that every other computer automatically connects to the server the way it is supposed to with a standard USB to RJ45 or an USB-C to RJ45 adapter that isn't Microsoft. With this adapter it would actually look for the server where all the others never even tried. Only issue was that it would look but never find. Worked with MS Support and Surface Support but was unable to use WDS on a Surface Book. Had to manually load all company software from scratch. 3 stars just because it did TRY to find the WDS server where nothing else even tried. Took 2 away because it failed to connect after multiple hours of trying.

    The data transfer rate is good. you look solid and beautiful. I would say business design. I liked it very much. I would also buy this product. Thanks Microsoft or Best Buy

    This Microsoft USB network adapter works great. Also works great with the USB C adapter. Went this route hoping since it's a Microsoft product won't have issues using it a lot like we have had with "generic" adapters.

    Purchased this unit when I needed my Surface Pro book to my Wi-Fi network I was building to allow outside visitors access to our Internet that was VLAN'd. Opened the package plugged it in connected to my network and done and done.

    Works exactly as expected. Simply plug into USB port on PC and then plug ethernet cable into adapter and wired ethernet connection works on PC.

    Until I used the Microsoft Ethernet adapter I wasn't able to image my surface with my works enterprise windows DWP. The drivers for this device are built in so it requires no setup!

    I only bought this since I try to use MS stuff with my Surface Book since MS is very picky with what works and doesn't work. This works but it should only cost $20.
