I originally purchased my surface tablet without the cover, only because I forgot. I was ok with the on screen keyboard but as I started using the MS office apps more, it became evident that I needed a keyboard. This item fit the bill. The feel of it is not much different from the keyboard I use with my desktop. It really did not require any adjustment on my part. It makes my tablet easier to use on planes and there is that layer of protection I otherwise would not have.

Being used to a MacBook Pro, I love the Backlight. I appreciate that it is backwards compatible with the Surface 1. Only complaint is the sensitivity. I also have the touch type which is more like a regular keyboard, much better for typing a lot. The touch cover seems like it requires too hard of a key press, especially when used to a touch screen. But it is a good cover and its light and practical so I usually keep it on. Would buy it again, but really think it should be under 100.00.

This keyboard cover is a brilliant idea. It takes the simple ideal of a cover and makes it useful for so much more. The price is quite expensive for a keyboard.

Like the lightness of the soft keyboard. It takes some getting used to of not depressing keys. Time will tell about durability.

Not bad, but prefer the type cover

I purchased this for the Surface Pro 1. I tried it out for a day and realized I didn't like the touch keys- seemed like I made a lot of typos with the touch cover (I use MacBook Pro and Air as my main machines). I bought the type cover to see if that would improve the experience and I find it much better for typing and not that much thicker/heavier. I returned the touch and kept the type cover 2. I imagine comes down to personal preference of course.

This keyboard is easy to install. It attaches to the tablet with a strong magnet. It helps to protect the tablet screen when not in use. Typing on this keyboard is easy and accurate. It is a low profile keyboard that I'm glad to have purchased.

An Amazing Idea That's Hard to Adapt To

Although the concept behind the touch cover is revolutionary, it's hard to adapt to especially if you're used to traditional keyboards. The touch cover is also a little pricy considering that you have to buy it in addition to an already somewhat pricy Surface 2 tablet.

I was amazed at how easy it was to type with the touch cover, it did not take a lot of adjustment like I thought it would. I could type almost as fast as I can on the type keyboard. The touch cover is much thinner than the type cover, but I found that I did not notice the extra thickness of the type cover and liked the feel of the type cover material better.

Keyboard does not have the typical keys of a keyboard. That takes a bit of getting used to, otherwise it works well.

Purchased the black keyboard. The color rubs off easily with use. It is flimsy and needs to be used on a hard surface not your lap. It does double as a screen protector. It is responsive and works ok, the price should be half of what it is.

The keyboard itself is nice, lightweight, easy to attach and provides protection for the tablet. However, the touch screen keyboard is hard for a traditional keyboard user to adapt to. I am sure that kids that text all the time will have no problem, but older adults may struggle with this one.
