I love the keyboard, very easy to use vs. the touch screen keyboard. It types just like a regular keyboard and is easy to use. The only fault is that it sometimes becomes disconnected from the surface tablet even though it is connected via a strong magnetic attachment system. Strange but very rare.

I have both a Surface and a Surface Pro. I got the Surface the first day they were released. It came with a membrane keyboard, but I bought the Type Cover, used it and never unpacked the membrane keyboard. I bought the Surface Pro the first day it was released and moved the Type Cover to it as it did not come with any keyboard. I passed the Surface to my son at Georgia Tech who started carrying it to Tech every day and leaving his Dell Latitude in his room. After a few weeks he mentioned a desire for a better keyboard and here we are.
Both the Surface and the Surface Pro work flawlessly with this keyboard. Unlike other brands of tablets the Surface series with Microsoft Office 2013 benefits from a better keyboard as you can easily actually do WORK instead of just consuming data.

Great product for the surface pro since it's dual purpose as a cover and a keyboard. It seems well made thus far with a few minor issues. First issue is that it's not backlit and this isn't a deal breaker, the issue is impartial to me because I do a lot of work with dim to no lighting. The bigger issue is the finicky connection of the keyboard to the surface. Even though it snaps in place, it doesn't always do this perfectly which results in the keyboard not working. Most people return them and complain that it's broken, but that isn't the case. When you attach it sometimes you literally have to make sure you're lining it up or keep trying to snap it on so that it makes the proper connection. This isn't a major issue either, more of a inconvenience, but nonetheless, a issue. Overall very satisfied with this product and I recommend it for those who want that traditional feel for their surface pro. Feedback is great from the keys and that's why I chose this over the other style they have.

It is easier to type reports, but you can easily just use the keyboard on the screen. I think the price is high. Already spending a $1000.00 on the Surface pro and the keyboard is another $120.00. It is clever how it snap right on with a magnet, but not really necessary.

This keyboard is a plus for the Surface Pro, easy to attach, acts as a cover for the Surface Pro and is everything it is meant to be.

Wouldn't be caught dead without the Type Cover for my Surface Pro. Started using it day one and wouldn't be caught dead without it. Much better response and feel than the onscreen typing. I'm accustomed to using a laptop so this gives me more of the laptop feel.

Excellent Addition To My Surface Tablet

I researched the Surface tablet for about a week before I made my purchase. I was not aware that a default keyboard was not a part of the product out of the box. There are two types of keyboards available for this product, and the real-feel keyboard is by far the best. I tested both in store, and there really was no comparison. The difference in price is negligible, although I will admit I bought an open box item, so it was a little cheaper in that respect. It easily detaches if you're looking to use the Surface as a tablet, and easily reattaches if you need to do anything productive.

While I personally prefer the touch keyboard over this one, the type keyboard offers an excellent typing experience that, in my opinion, is better than some laptops.
When helping a friend with arthritis buy a new computer, the keyboard quality was one of the biggest deciding factors in what to buy. It needed to have big, responsive keys, and the laptops we looked at just didn't fit the bill. But this keyboard was perfect. Even though it's physically smaller over all than her last laptop's keyboard, the keys still managed to be bigger and easier to navigate.
Oh, there's also a track pad below the keyboard. It's... ok. It's small. Left and right click, pinch zoom, and two finger scrolling all work, and there's an app on the store called Trackpad Settings that lets you change the scrolling direction. But the Surface tablets both support Bluetooth and USB mice, which is a much better alternative.

Excellent response, no lag time. Keyboard snaps on with a magnet, just have to get it close to the tablet and it is LOCKED! Keyboard also works as a screen cover. Mouse works great. Small and compact, fat finger it sometimes and had a lot of mis-keys in the beginning.

I absolutely loved the key board and feel it pairs well with the RT. I did not like the soft key board and feel this is just as good as the keyboard I use everyday. $100 seems a bit much. I would check the local store for a previously opened one.

You gotta have this for your Surface Pro. It protects your screen and give you a keyboard to use when you stand the unit up with its built in stand. Keyboard is comfortable and easy to use. Just makes the Suface Pro so much more versatile.

I would definitely recommend this keyboard for the Surface PC. Not only does it help me with typing, it attaches very easily and when closed acts as a protective cover for the unit. Because of the size it took me a little while to get used to, but now I love it.

Switched to the Surface Type keyboard because the Touch keyboard did not provide enough of a tactile feedback with touch typing. The Type keyboard is much easier to type on. However if not on a firm surface it fails to register some key strokes.
Not as good as full sized keyboard but definitely usable and much better than the Touch.

This keyboard makes the Surface Pro just like a laptop. It feels just like a regular keyboard but is so light and thin. It connects right on with ease and acts as a cover too. Perfect to protect the screen of the Surface Pro.

I am well pleased with this keyboard. I am a fast typist and my accuracy is equal to that on a desktop. It attaches easily. Touchscreen can be used even when keyboard is attached. It folds back seamlessly. I'm a happy camper!

The type cover is much, much easier to use with the Surface, especially for a touch-typist. You can feel the keys. And it's still lightweight and doesn't add more than a tiny thickness overall.
Excellent improvement for me.

Just bought the Microsoft Surface Pro, and this key board cover. I was very surprised at the ease of use. Great feel to the keys. I thought it would be difficult to get use to it. I was wrong. I am very happy with it.

No need for a fancy Bluetooth keyboard. The magnetic connection is not perfect but very convenient and stays connected. Typing on this keyboard is very comfortable with the great tactile feel and good spacing for a keyboard of this size.
