I purchased both types of keyboards and this one functions better for those accustomed to regular keyboards. Works good as a cover as well.

This keyboard is great for those who do not want to use a touch screen keyboard. It connects magnetically so you don't have to worry about connection. It also flips over to cover the screen as a protective case!

I wouldn't consider the other keyboard. I'm sure I would eventually get used to it but this keyboard is a few extra bucks and no getting used to anything. Well worth it as I need to type on my surface daily.

I love the keyboard, some of the other ones in the market are very neutral, do not feel right but this is just as good as any keyboard and easy to pack.

Its is easy to apply and remove. I love the ease of typing on the keys. I tried the other option and found this key board of the highest quality. It protects my screen. The extra cost was well worth it.

The microsoft type cover for the surface is a great accessory with two functions. It covers and protects the touch screen of the tablet and also enhances the use of it providing and easier way to type. It is a great tool.

This keyboard is very nice. It has a better feel to it than the soft keyboard. It offers protection for the screen and helps make the surface easier to use. It is not great for writing long documents however.

My daughter uses the Surface RT for school. The Microsoft keyboard works perfectly with it. She takes notes with ease and really enjoys using it. I would definitely recommend this product.

I tried out the touch and the type keyboards and much prefer the type keyboard. It feels like a real keyboard with great tactile feel. Plus it doubles as a cover for the tablet. Awesome.

It's light weight and helps protect the screen when it's attached and closed

I tried the cheaper cover/keyboard and did not like it. I bought this one because I need the feel of the keys in order to type properly. I hate track pads, because my thumbs hit it when I type, causing the cursor to move elsewhere on the screen, causing me to type over what I had already typed. For this reason, I always turn off the track pad while I'm typing. I downloaded an app from MS that turns the track pad on and off, but a switch on the keyboard would have been nice.

Touchcover achieves is job perfectly. It is a usable, lightweight keyboard that doubles as a cover. The connection of the keyboard to the tablet is extremely solid - simply amazing.

The keyboard serves as an excellent cover and alternative keyboard for the Surface Pro. The digital keyboard on the Surface Pro is excellent and may be sufficient for many users however the type/cover is a great addition for those who are creating long documents, using for business, teaching courses, or are students as it gives you the full monitor unimpeded. The keys give the touch and feel of a regular standard Qwerty keyboard and are larger than those on most laptops. Great for large hands or awkward fingers. I travel a lot and this makes the entire Surface Pro package flexible and easy to use in a variety of environments.

Works for everyone that has one in my office. Responsive, easy to use, good feel. Much better than the Soft keyboard that Microsoft sells. It also protects your screen when traveling with it.

I love my new surface laptop and the added keyboard makes it so much better and easy to use. This keyboard has a nice touch and has everything on it that you need for complete control. I like that this keyboard is just like the keyboards of old so it is so familiar, but it has all the new features. It's very thin so it helps make the computer a light and sleek laptop. The keyboard also provides a slim cover that protects the screen whether you are charging it or carrying to your meeting or wherever. Microsoft thought of everything in the development of this surface and this surface keyboard. I love it!

We tested both the touch pad and the physical keyboard. Even though it cost a bit more, the physical keyboard was our choice without question. It is much more responsive, easier to type accurately, and provides a much sturdier protection for the tablet screen. The magnetic connection makes it very easy to attach to the tablet. The charging connection is very easy to use and works very quickly. The only negative, like most keyboard accessories, they are overpriced relative to the cost of the tablet. But of those keyboard models available, this one seemed to provide the best value and performance.

I've used this for a month now and have had no problems. It's easy to set up, and works well with my device. I think its goor for both personal and business use.

GREAT TO TYPE ON AND EASY TO MOVE AROUND.LIGHT TO CARRY AND VERY HANDY IN THE FIELD

I've had a few MS Surface products and as my other reviews can attest, they held up poorly. This original type keyboard was the only one that continued working well. Actually, after my Surface 3 Type Keyboard stopped being recognized by my Surface, I tried using this old original one I had lying around and it worked perfectly. I'm glad I kept it. It saved me from having to buy a replacement for the Surface 3 keyboard. If your Surface 3 keyboard has failed, try finding the original one.

The keyboard works wonderfully, and snaps on and off with a breeze. The only problem is the price is too high. At $899 the keyboard should be included. Thanks!
