When testing the Surface in store, I preferred the Type Cover over the Touch Cover due to the feel of typing on actual keys that move. At only $10 more than the Touch Cover, the upgrade is well worth it to have a much cleaner response to finger presses. I felt the price was very high, considering there are Bluetooth keyboards for much less that would still work with the Surface. However, I opted for the Type Cover for compatibility and the fact that it doubles as a good screen protector.

This keyboard is lightweight and easy to sto out of the way when Im not using it.

For me this touch cover was a game-changer. I loved my tablet prior to purchasing this but it really took it to the next level. It is lightweight, responsive and doubles as a protective cover. My only real complaints are that it feels incredibly cheap, typing on it (as I am right now) can sometimes be tedious in that It feels as if it may break at any moment. And it also gets dirty very quickly and is not the easiest item to change. So far it has not broken and I can get over the look to highly recommend this item.

even thought to by this it cost me every single penny I have, but it was worth, I use it for school to write my notes and download the teachers files. I am a college student in the Engineering field and I can't live with out it. I take my notes with it and the battery life is great, I have an 1:15 classes and it never died on me, and sometimes I go to two classes back to back and I will still have lots of battery life, and I keep the screen open for the entire class.

The keyboard is very functional and easy to snap on and off. It is also light and not cumbersome to carry around.

I received the touch style keyboard with my Surface and while I found it worked just fine, I really love the type cover much better. It still protects my Surface but it allows for much faster and accurate typing which I appreciate as a student. Hope they come out with some color options because although color is not a huge deal, it is nice to be able to personalize a bit. Would recommend the purchase of the type cover to anyone who is looking to purchase the Surface.

In my opinion, This is a great keyboard when I type i like the sense that I am actually typing something so I actually know when i feel like I typed something wrong. Depending on What you use this I feel that the Keyboard uses some battery up and if you have the Surface RT that's fine because its a long lasting battery, but on the surface Pro you might want to disconnected every so often when not using it, i feel like like the tablet uses a bit more battery.

I got this with a Surface Pro, so if I first mention that it's thicker than the touch cover, it's because the Surface Pro is thicker than the Surface. Those millimeters add up! The keyboard has great tactile feedback though, which the touch cover is missing. If you're all about being slim though, I'd go with the touch cover.

I think this is a great keyboard. I actually type better on it than with my desktop keyboard. It has a great touch to it, very responsive. I tried out the other pad, and I guess I'm a little old fashion, but I like the feel of the buttons. It is a little more expensive, but I think that it is worth it. When I used the tablet on my lap, the board did not bend too much and it was able to read what I was writing without any troubles. It's very good.

I like the keyboard easy to use and just as easy to tuck away or take off. Works great as a cover as well

Great keyboard for the Surface Pro (or RT). Much better than any of the small form factor keyboards available for other tablets. Track pad works exactly like that on most laptops, and the keyboard is easy to type on, even for folks with large hands. Connection to the tablet is solid, and the build quality is excellent. $129 is a lot to pay for a keyboard, but it's a must if you're going to buy the Surface Pro - which I also highly recommend.

Started out with a touch keyboard. The touch keyboard for the surface definitely has that "cool" factor. However, switching to the type keyboard has been way more productive and easy to type on. Would definitely recommend this keyboard if you are going to do a lot of typing on your surface.

I tried both this and the touch keyboard. Although this keyboard is quite a bit thicker, it's very responsive and I feel like I can type faster on this than I can on my laptop. The only thing I don't like is that when using this in the dark it's hard to find the right click button on the keyboard by feel only and end up left clicking sometimes.

its a keyboard, it is a nice cover for the device as well. it locks in automatically nice and easy

This is a great accessory. Easy to connect and use. Very compact and folds up for easy travel.

I have never used a tablet before, so I was Leary about not having a keyboard. I do use the touchscreen for something's, but the keyboard is a lifesaver for me. I am of the old school and learned to type on a regular typewriter, so I really like a keyboard,

This keyboard is very good and it's easy to use and comfortable.

It was tough to swallow the $125 price tag but it is an absolute must have with the Surface for as much as I type. My main purpose with the surface is business emails and reports on the go. Without a good keyboard, I would be sunk. This one comes through beautifully.
