6 months in the GPU / APU are fried. Know issue

Bought this March 13, 2023 and the APU is now dying 6 months later. Black rectangular artifacts constantly flashing on the screen during game play. Green hues and saturation all over objects. Very disappointing. I had to wait a while to purchase the Xbox Series X due to demand, and they had allegedly fixed this issue with their Series X console a year or 2 ago, but apparently Microsoft is still allowing sales of the old units...just a hypothesis. Many have the same issue a few months into ownership.

I had to return to Bestbuy because it stopped working after 3 days. I did not choose to get it repaired because It was not worth paying all that money for a faulty Xbox. I brought another one from another store and I did nit have any problems at all.

This product is very good with its proccesing speed ot its abity to project at high graphics 4k at 120hz but many of the main issues are it can always work properly, for instance your paying $600 for a piece of plastic coverd by mechanical structure inside just for your games to sometimes not load or crash unexpectedly. I have seen and found a repetition in problems usally around the time 1:00AM PST; your console decides to complety bug out and you get booted from games and lag out of party chats your in and it sometimes just complety shuts off, and your console remains as cold as if you just turned it on. Also the base 1tb storage coming with it is just not going to compete with the high end games that are around today such as call of duty MW3 which is about to get a MASSIVE update for blackops 6 putting at a whopping 300GB thats 3/10 of storage areadly tooken up, and not everyones got $350 lying around to spend on a measly 2TB upgrade or a $250 for 1TB. SO OVERALL DO NOT BUY THIS CONSOLE OR ANY OF THE OTHER ONES instead try saving up for a pc you can at least upgrade as you go and with a budget, its just like legos, and people have done it before so you also get the benefit of looking at video on how to put it together. Thank you for reading this and hope this helps.

Bought this for my son for Christmas. Christmas day he tried to play it and the console wouldn't stay synced up with the provided wireless controller. Made appointment with Geek Squad and they checked it out, but couldn't replicate the problem. They suggested buying another controller and using new batteries Instead of the ones provided with the Xbox. My son bought a new wired controller and new batteries. Checked to make sure the console was up to date. Neither the wired or the wireless controller would stay synced to the console. Tried adding the controller through the settings function and they still wouldn't sync up. Returned it to Best Buy and customer service was great. Changed it out for a PS5 and just waiting on it to be delivered to the store. Best Buy and customer service gets 5 stars, but the Xbox series X brings it down to just 1 star. Would not recommend buying the Xbox series X. Will recommend buying from Best Buy

The Xbox Series X is arguably one of the worst purchases in gaming history, primarily due to its lack of innovation, poor value proposition, and underwhelming performance in several key areas. Despite being marketed as a powerhouse console, it offers minimal upgrades compared to the previous generation, particularly when compared to its competitors like the PlayStation 5. The console's design is bulky and uninspired, offering no significant aesthetic or functional improvement over the Xbox One. While it boasts impressive technical specs, such as faster load times and enhanced graphics, the difference in real-world gameplay is often negligible. Many of the console's features, like Quick Resume, aren't universally supported by all games, leaving users with inconsistent performance. Additionally, Xbox Game Pass is a decent service, but it can't compensate for the lack of exclusive titles that truly leverage the power of the Series X. The backwards compatibility, while a nice touch, feels like a band-aid solution to a problem that shouldn't exist, and the console’s reliance on streaming and cloud-based services does little to differentiate it from earlier models. Ultimately, with a high price tag and no groundbreaking innovations to justify it, the Xbox Series X feels like a misstep in an industry that’s increasingly demanding meaningful advancements. It simply doesn't offer enough to make it a compelling choice for gamers who are looking for real next-gen experiences.

Got this Xbox as an open box. I chose the excellent condition one but it was missing a controller which I didn’t notice one I got home. While I understand used products sometimes won’t be the best condition this one started to act up within two days of use. The fan would randomly stop working which would cause the console to “overheat” when tho it wouldn’t be hot to touch at all and sitting in a really well ventilated area

I was pretty excited to buy one of these due to good things I kept hearing about “Game Pass”, but ultimately, 99% of the games on Game Pass are very old multiplatform games that are also available on PlayStation and other platforms. The only good high profile game on Xbox Series X is Forza Horizon 5, which you could also buy on PC. The user interface and operating system aren’t anywhere near as smooth as PlayStation 5’s. Everything is needlessly scattered and obscured, some things don’t load at all when you press A on them, the buttons on the Xbox controller are often unresponsive so you have to end up pressing them multiple times. The buttons also make a very loud clicking sound, it sounds like an old keyboard. The interface actually feels like a choppy web browser. It feels very slow. Then there’s the issue with horribly designed hardware and software. The console will randomly shut down on you for no reason, and it looks like part of the reason is that things take too long to load, which makes the console think there’s a problem, so it automatically restarts or crashes. There are no real exclusives to buy on the console. Build a PC and buy a PlayStation 5. It’s the best combo, Xbox doesn’t have its’ own games.

    Bad Purchase

Really bad experience with this console. This is our fourth X Box. We bought this as a Christmas gift for our kids. When we initally launched it, we received a message that a software update was needed, we ran this. Part way through we received an error message that it was not able to update. We went through all the troubleshooting steps on Microsoft's site and ended up having to manually download the update onto a usb flashdrive and install it that way. This seemed to work until we attempted to install a game and the installation continuously failed. We were on wifi so switched to a hardwired connection to rule this out as the issue. When we attempted to open the console settings to update the network setup, we received a new error message about failure to access the settings. This troubleshooting step instructed us to power cycle. When we did this, the console went back to showing the original update message and error code and we were right back at the start. We have been trying to troubleshoot for 5 hours now and the console basically a brick. Waste of time. Would not recommend.

Bad Service Killeen TX and warranty w Parts Store

This is warning for anyone who purchase a warranty bundle with a gaming console. I recently requested an exchange with a Xbox X controller that came in a bundle via a warranty purchased from Best Buy. The warranty was processed in store at Best Buy, but honored by a third party called the Part Store. The Parts Store sent me a used controller in a box with some bubble wrap with no invoice or manifest. Unfortunately the remote controller for the Xbox that was sent was garbage. It looked nice, but had drift worse than my original remote and sticky trigger buttons. When I went to talk to the Geek Squad about the situation, I was basically insulted by Geek Squad. They stated that the controller I received did not appear to be something that the Parts Store would send. That I would be responsible for reaching out to them to resolve the issue on my own. Working with the Parts Store over the phone was nightmare. They hung up on me multiple times and would play games saying that system was acting up and they could not help me at the time. Also saying things like we will give you a one time exception. Which makes no sense because they sent me garbage for a warranty plan that I purchased. I ended up having to call the Best Buy store in Killeen and make a appointment with the Geek Squad team just to request a replacement remote. This would be my third time physically coming to the store in person for a warranty exchange on Xbox controller. Each time is a round trip of about 30 minutes and 30 minutes in the store. Again the Geek Squad team questioned the original of the garbage remote that the Parts Store sent. They finally processed the request and I assumed all was done. The next day I got an email form the Parts Store wanting me to explain and justify the situation. Which is very annoying . Because they want the customer to be responsible for bad service. When the real question is why is Best Buy building a business promoting warranty memberships and sales on single items with partners who are not doing their job like the Parts Store. I ended visiting a another Best Buy location an hour from my home and speaking with a Manager who assisted me. They gave me a new Xbox remote from the store. They lacked tact and really didn't want to hear about the whole experience for improvement. More than anything they seemed annoyed about helping me. Just want to warn people about the Best Buy warranty services with the Geek Squad and the Parts Store. This isn't really how the situation should have went for a paid warranty services. Very disappointed about that treatment. I recommend anyone who receives replacement components from the Parts Store to record opening the process for your own protection sadly.

Worst item i could have ordered for someone as a present. When item was delivered it was left outside no signature was required so it was on the street and got stolen. Best buy does not want to re send the item. They told me file a police report. So now im stuck in dispute trying to get my money back from the bank for an item i never recieved. I would never order online from them again.... then come to find out they used a 3rd party delivery service not even postal service or ups. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER

Didn’t work!!! supposedly new! . When we started up the system it wouldn’t go past the update screen. Had to go to the store to return the product and we were told we got a lemon and there was no more in stock and the Xbox’s were sold out. We couldn’t even order it online or have it shipped to us. Awesome feeling to tell my child their Christmas gift had to be returned. All they gave me was a gift card and told me to check back for when they might have it in stock.id give them zero stars if that was an option

I am giving it one star because I did not get the game with it. It came way later and then I couldn’t pick it up in time so they sent it back and now I can’t get it which is stupid. If I bought them together, I should get them regardless Nobody seems to be able to wanna help me so far. This reason I will probably never use this company again it’s not the only one out there.

Defective Blu-Ray Player. Audio and Video Loss.

    Posted .

Was looking forward to the XBox Series X system. However, the Blu-ray player skipped audio on the first day. Disc was brand new....(Yakuza Princess Blu-ray 4K Ultra HD). The second day, tying a different brand new Blu-ray 4K UHD disk (No Time to Die), the player skipped audio multiple times and then the video went competely black. I believe my Xbox Series X was made May 2022. OS Build 10.0.22000.4975 There are numerous internet reports of defective Blu-rayer players in the XBox Series X. Also, good to note is that the Blu-ray app on the XBox Series X is outdated and in desperate need of an update. I returned the XBox Series X the same day.
