Buy a PC or PS5
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's ok. Feels more like a PC than a console in setup with all the user options. I still don't understand the choice to use batteries in the controller instead of including a rechargable battery. Controller is very clicky to the point of distraction.

||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is Dust build-up in the top vent and what appears to be a defect too, shocked i got one like this, console works, but for a flagship next gen console...unacceptable.

Such potential for a disappointing product!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have always purchased Xbox consoles since the original Xbox and while the Series X has impressive speed and graphics, the constant crashing has become a nuisance. This past Sunday was a highlight with 8 games of COD BOCW resulting in all 8 games crashing. Am starting to feel like I purchased a $500 paper weight. #MicrosoftLoweringItsStandardOfQuality !

Posted .Hi there,
We're sorry that you're experiencing an issue with your new Xbox Series X. Activision Support has reported a known issue in which players are experiencing crashes while playing Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War in 4K on Xbox Series X. They recommend dropping the resolution from 4K to 1080p until a fix is found. For more information, please visit Activision Support here: https://support.activision.com/black-ops-cold-war
Hope that helps,

Best Buy Customer Service was Great
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Long story short, Buyer beware on Open Box - excellent Xbox series X. I bought one and it could not find or connect to wifi. Im not sure what constitutes excellent condition, But this unit was not properly tested before it was sold. I gave it 2 stars because customer service was able to refund me the same day.

Sorry excuse for an upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If my Xbone hadn't been dying and so many games now being "optimized" for the X/S I wouldn't have bothered. The 1 TB of internal storage is a joke for how over bloated and the limited storage expansion options are a joke. Still I will give credit where it's due. The game do a bit look better and play a bit better. The control is an Xbox control so like all of them it works good and feels good in my hands.

I'm the dummy that keeps buying their stuff
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Took over a year to get one with my Best Buy gift cards. Overheated and shut down after being on for a couple hours the very first day. Not a noticeable difference from my One X. Almost made it two years before I was back playing my One X while waiting for them to fix (for $300) my series X and ship it back to me. Oh yeah, the $250 controller I bought to go with it had stick drift after a week.

Game pass is the only reason.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only good thing about getting an Xbox is game pass, other than that not much exclusives, you still have your first person shooters but that can get stale after a while, still don’t know why we still have to buy battery chargers for the controller, I know other console have issues too, but no exclusives doesn’t help.

Save your money
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A great xbox if you got a tv that supports 120hz. If not gameplay will be no different than playing on an xbox one from 2013. The controller is a bit depressing compared to the ps5 controller. The one good thing is you can pair to your pc or iPad without a dongle. Best Buy did a great job providing the product its not their fault. The UI is the same as the xbox one you really can't tell a difference unless you have the right tv. Even so I'd recommend the ps5 unless they release a better controller.

Lots of Fun But PS5 is Better
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s a great console but I will always contend that PS5 is better. PS5 runs more smoothly and graphically looks better. The Dualsense controllers are a revolution in gaming. The XBOX controller feels cheap by comparison. XBOX does offer game pass which is great, if you wanna replay old games or new games that aren’t great. I don’t know, I’m just not impressed by it.

Best Buy is a joke
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The fact that I’m forced to buy a game bundle when I just want the console is ridiculous. Further, the delivery agent shows up to my house in street clothes and forgets to take photos of the packages and knocks on the door, unannounced to ask me to retrieve the now opened boxes so she can take photos of them Console works as expected.

CONSOLE SHUTTING ITSELF DOWN
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was loving it up until it started shutting down on its own dont know if its overheating or just defective its in an open space with room all around the system doesnt seem too hot but still shut itself off 3x today and there was no error message when turning it back on. pretty disappointed seeing as theyre sold out everywhere so HIGHLY doubt Ill get a replacement and definitely not sending a BRAND NEW console to be fixed and refurbished by Microsoft that I just paid over $500 for NEW

Complicated Setup for New Users But Fun Once Done
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've never had an Xbox before. I've had Playstations and was looking to buy a PS5 but couldn't ever find one. BB had an Xbox series X so I decided to snag it. I was very frustrated at how difficult it was to get it set up. It took me many hours over several days to get it figured out. Unbelievable how there's nothing user friendly engineered into these things. Once I finally got it set up and mostly figured out the madness that's involved to get my kids to both be able to play at the same time, its working pretty well. I learned in my hours of research that I could get up to 3 years of game pass ultimate by buying 3 years of Xbox Live Gold BEFORE signing up for the free two weeks of game pass ultimate... if you sign up first the Live is converted to half the time or whatever. For $1 you convert all the Live to GPU as long as it's a new account. Still cost me $181 for 3 years of GPU, but I figured it was worth it. The kids do love it. If it wasn't for wasting SO MUCH of my time because of unclear and unknown setup I'd give it more stars. If you've had Xbox I'm sure it's easy to set it up.

Nothing Special (Yet?)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is for anyone stressing about finding one & is upgrading from the previous generation: I honestly haven't touched it since setup/transfer. Not saying it's bad or doesn't deliver on what is advertised (it does what it says). But you will get exactly as much use out of this AT THE MOMENT as you do your Xbox One (or One X or whatever); it'll all just run faster. For me, there is no truly next-gen offering right now that makes this a necessity. Sure, that will change in the fall - highly anticipating the next Battlefield & Forza for instance - but until then, it's just visually updated games you probably already have. The interface is also exactly the same which is fine except that every time you boot it up it just underscores the fact that there really isn't THAT big a difference at the moment. TL;DR there's no rush. If you stumble upon one, go for it! But there is no need to scour the web, set up alerts, hammer the refresh button, etc. right now.

Deceived
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So this was a drop deal that came with a controller and three free bonus games. I waited two weeks for the deal to become available. The second it was available I attempted to purchase it and a pop up would appear stating all items in your cart are unavailable. I tried for over two hours and it finally allowed me to check out . It appears one of the free games were unavailable. So instead of pulling the unavailable game from the deal and replacing it with another , they apparently pulled all three!! I asked about my free games when I picked it up from my local store and the girl told me they weee already preloaded in the console . She obviously didn’t know what she was talking about but this was a Christmas gift and I needed it so I took it. Just sucks that the three games were part of the deal then you get told a lie and you leave with just part of the transaction you paid for. I tried contacting Best Buy customer service but they were useless. Like most companies these days , it appears they contracted customer service to a foreign country and they read from cue cards. I can only provide a score on my experience, not the console itself , as I didn’t play with it . As stated it was a gift to my son.

Pretty buggy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Started out really fast and smooth operating. Now it's gotten a little buggy. The controller has connection problems almost constantly but the graphics and gameplay are what you would expect.

Good Hardware - Poor Account Support
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything hardware related to this system is Great. I have a few issues related to game liscenses and account linking. I have one xbox account from 10+ years ago that is linked to an unknown EA account. The account is basically locked out of all EA games. I game share with another Xbox account, but every couple of days, games won't launch. Not sure why the games crash immediately after opening, not even an error message. Other people have these issues, but Microsoft simply does not care about it.

Frequent disconnects and crashes
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own every xbox console made. This one is ridiculously quiet and looks great. Never had any issues [well other than red rings with the earliest consoles] and my xbox series s and series x had constant controller disconnects. This hapoens with brand new controllers. Frustrating as CoD Vanguard and Forza Horizon 5 are challenging to win online when you controllers malfunction. Also have experienced crashes back to home screen way more than prior consoles. 4k 120hz via hdmi 2.1 is slick when things arent crashing or disconnecting. You might skip this covid console generation. Our gaming pc has literally no issues and if you can get a geforce 3070 youll be happier there.

Many Technical Issues- Constantly Reboots Itself
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The system has many bugs. Some of the initial issues seen is that it periodically reboots, sometimes it shuts itself down in the middle of a game, when first starting the console it doesn't allow the controller to connect, on occasion it disconnects its connection to WiFi and then wont reconnect. To resolve all of these issues, I have had to do a hard restart by physically unplugging the unit. Sometimes it has had to be done multiple times throughout a single gaming session. Very Frustrating to say the least.
