This game is absolutely incredible. It has an amazing mix of gameplay styles - Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell, Arkham Asylum - and the story is great. It has excellent replay value (I've beaten the main mission, but am attempting to 100% unlock everything), and the nemesis system is one of a kind. Amazing game.

I love how they made this an open world game and branched off into a new story. It's holds true to the storyline and lotr feel while exploring a new chapter.

If you enjoy batman type fighting style than this is for you. It's also has an assassins creed open world feel to it. Great graphics and amazing store.

Shadow Of Mordor is a really awesome game! I had some reservations initially before purchasing this game based on past LOTR games. I took a chance based on my love for the books and entire Middle Earth lore. It was the best decision I made once I started playing this innovative game for the PS4. It feels familiar to Assassin's Creed type games yet different because of the terrain and characters. And the nemesis system for the enemies is a feature not seen in any games I've played. For this sole reason it makes this game very addicting to play especially if you get knocked out during a fight. Revenge is what will drive you to play better and take out your enemies on this game because of the nemesis system incorporated into this game. Despite all this it is a very fun expansive game yet smaller compared to a Skyrim or Dragons Age Inquisition. Yet it is fun to play for hours and hours and you will not be disappointed, I surely wasn't and would recommend it if you're looking for a fun adventure in Middle Earth or shall we say Mordor!

If you like stalking uruks, hacking and slashing them, and doing crazy LOTR sword moves, then this game is for you. The nemesis system is cool too.

The open world gameplay and combat are great on their own, but what really makes the game shine is the new Nemesis system and the rivalry you create with the Orcs you are tasked with hunting.

Very fun game with an entertaining story line. Gameplay is very similar to the Batman Arkham and Assassin's Creed games. Plenty of things to do.

Quite a surprising game last year. Great take on the Batman style combat and stealth. Good story. Just an all around amazing game to play.

At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like this game. After having been ambushed and killed by the same orc commander a few times I was frustrated, but that only made it that much more satisfying when I eventually killed him. Later on in the game, after I was able to brand orcs, it was a lot of fun turning them against one-another. The story line was fun, but I can see myself playing this game long after the main story is over. Turning a warchiefs own guards against him and then springing the trap is endless entertainment.

I waited until this game was on sale for$20 and have no regrets. As a fan of assassins creed and batman arkham games and a huge fan of lord of the rings, I was bound to like it. The game is well worth $20. It gave me a good 20 hours of gaming that I really enjoyed. However, after playing the story, there doesn't feel like much reason to go back except to mess around with Orcs minds. I forgot to mention, the abilities you gain throughout the game quickly leave the game pretty challenge-less; however it's still a fun ride

Yes, Shadow of Mordor does borrow some gaming cues from a few other popular titles. The combat system will feel very familiar and intuitive. Side missions are abundant. The general modus operandi of open world gaming and storyline advancement aren't either new or groundbreaking. However, that being said, this game is going to keep your butt in a seat with a controller in your hands for hours. The hunting of Orc has never been more fun. Repeat after me....If blood is the price of victory, my enemies shall pay in full!

I love the orcs the battles and the combat. This game tells a good story and the gameplay is great. Love taking down those orcs.

Very good game. Best game based on LOTR to date. Story takes place in-beween The Hobbit and LOTR. If you liked the combat in the Batman Arkham games, you'll like this too.

Lately video game developers have been bringing concepts from other games and incorporating them into their game with disastrous results, nothing could more from the truth concerning Shadow of Mordor (SOM). SOM combines the action stealth of Assassins Creed, the newer Batman games with traditional RPG elements all with incredible success. If you are looking for a great action game with elements of exploration, leveling up, and enemies that will certainly give you a challenge look no further than SOM.

I am not a hard-core gamer and don't buy very many games (console or otherwise) but when I saw the walkthrough videos a few days before Shadow of Mordor became available, I knew I had to have it. Those who have played any of the Assassin's Creed games, this will feel very familiar. The "assassinations", "eagle vision" and "finishers" are all there. But this is not a bad thing! SoM takes these concepts a bit further, polishes the graphics and the control system, and makes it very, very enjoyable. The first mission walks through various moves and how to accomplish them. The second mission introduces you to the Nemesis System which makes the game take life. No two play throughs will ever be the same. Even the character names will change from player to player. Learn the social interactions of the various Orc Captains and use them to take down the War-chiefs. I am easily ten hours into the game and have barely scratched the surface. I have died. A lot. Like dozens of time. But that's all right! Every time Tailion is revived, time has passed and the Orc hierarchy has changed: shuffling Captains around, promoting some and killing others. Buy SoM. You will not regret it.

This game is a lot of fun. It has action, stealth, and a great story with a unique system with orc captains and warchiefs.
