Midsommar takes place in a remote Swedish village, but has a bizarre twist that has shades of Deliverance. It won't boost tourism for Sweden, but it is a gripping story.

hereditary was better, and I appreciate some of the things that were done here, but it was a slow build towards nothing. this felt more of a cerebral horror film than anything. special features were interesting but didn't bring anything insightful.

Not a movie for kids by any means; even a bit uncomfortable watching it with my 18 year old son and his girlfriend. Odd story line.

this is an amazing movie! and like the other reviewer said, it is an artsy movie! this movie is very long and it takes a while for it to do something interesting that'll stick you to your seat. To me this movie is perfect the way it is and i wouldn't change anything about it, its builds itself up but others don't have the patience to wait for that.Please don't trash this movie, don't go in wanting to see something crazy right away, it takes time just be patient. If you liked Asters other movie Hereditary they you're going to like this one as well. it is disturbing and some images are shocking. This talks about the relationship of a guy and his girlfriend who's going through a lot after his parents and sister were in a macabre death (you'll see what i mean). she decides to join her man and his friends to a trip to clear her mind. This is where all the cult stuff start kicking in. everything spirals out of control every day they stay there. i don't want to say anymore because it'll just be a bunch of spoilers. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone that loves horror movies and doesnt mind a slow movie. but it is interesting though. The ONLY two things i have to complain about this is 1. why in the world wasn't this released in 4k?? mostly everything else coming out this including its counterpart hereditary. 2. and this one is mostly asked.... why in the world didn't they release the extended directors cut??? seriously why???? i did see however that the extended version (which is 27 mins longer taking the movie mostly to 3 hours) is an exclusive to iTunes. don't let those two things put you off, give this a shot, it'll send a chill down your spine
