You ever did LSD? I haven’t but if you’ve ever imagined what it would be like, this movies for you. Ari Aster’s sophomore follow up to Hereditary proves you don’t have to have a dark setting or jump scares to be a truly terrifying film. From the gut wrenching intro to the twisted ending, Midsommar weaves a tale of one of the most insane break-up movies you will watch. Don’t watch with the kids.

It was so wrong in so many ways but it is so good and just, creepy. The lead actress, Florence Pugh, is absolutely awesome. She was such a vulnerable character in the beginning then just twisted that all up into a pretty memorable performance. The subject matter was a bit too harshly played out, but it is what made the movie so different.

If you're a fan of Wicker Man this might be for you. It's just another sun filled nightmare in Sweden for American collegiates. Too bad it's not available in 4K for all the color and swarming sound. I also attended the director's cut in the theater which I hope will be released someday. Recommend this to a friend only if you know them well.

After Hereditary I had high hopes for this movie and while it didn't quite live up to it it's still a great movie just wasn't what I was expecting. A different type of horror/suspense/thrill but that's why I still call it a great movie. Also disturbing but in a really good way. Worth the watch

If you liked Hereditary, you’ll like this. If you didn’t, you probably won’t. While they are vastly different movies they still have a lot of similarities. Midsummer isn’t really that scary but there are a lot of disturbing and unsettling moments. It can seem a little slow at times but the payoff is worth it.

Excellent Movie. 10/10. It Was Creepy And Weird At First, But That’s Why I Had To Own It And Watch It Again To Actually Understand It. Cult’s And Stuff Like That Are Real In This World. The Director Is A Genius On Making This Movie. Hope To See More Movies Like That In The Future

I wanted to see this because of Jack Reynor. I really enjoy his work in multiple movies, and especially in Strange Angel. The story is well done with surprising twists and turns. Shocking would be an understatement. Careful who you visit.
I waited for it to go on sale. Thanks, Best Buy.

Midsommar is not at all the movie you expect it to be. A film with so many twist and turns and secrets that lead up to one heck of an ending. Sprinkling little hints along the way. Midsommar is one of the most disturbing films I’ve ever seen and it’s still one of my favorites.

Director Ari Aster keeps the same feel in this film as "Hereditary", which sets his movies apart; giving them a unique feel in the horror genre. Cultural differences are used for shock value as the young American travelers are caught off guard at a Swedish summer festival. The story reaches a bit in the ending and becomes somewhat implausible, but overall has an unsettling if not nightmarish affect to the audience. It is also quite sexually explicit. I would recommend this if you liked "Hereditary"....but if you were not entertained by that film, Midsommar may not be for you either.

I absolutely loved it! If you’re a fan of Ari Aster’s work (Hereditary), you too will love it! It’s a very disturbing movie at times but hey that’s what I signed up for with Ari’s movies. Definitely recommend for your collection, you’ll want to watch more than once.

This film is an absolutely wonderful horror flick... though it is not a "jump scare" film. This is more along the lines of The Witch - the horror is not in what the protagonist encounters on her journey, but what she learns about the world she comes from instead.

***Disclaimer: Not for everyone
It truly is a great film. BEAUTIFUL cinematography. Great dialogue. Suspenseful and mysterious in all the right ways. Where people disconnect with this is how macabre and unsettling things begin to get towards the last two acts.

I’m a big fan of the movie, it is very original and interesting with some great acting from Florence Pugh. The blu ray is pretty standard, it looks good to great and the sound is also solid as well for those with the surround sound set up

You will either love or hate this movie. It is gorgeous to look at. The story unfolds very slowly and fills you with dread. Ari Aster is a genius at this. If you did not enjoy Hereditary, do not bother with this one.

The movie is beautiful and a trip to watch. Its creepy to watch these nice group of villagers turn out to be a crazy cult. The horrible relationship that the main girl and her boyfriend are in is relatable.

When I watched this in the theaters, I knew I had to get a blu-ray copy. Midsommar has to be one of the best horror movies to come out in the past couple of years. Great suspense and drama that will keep tense throughout the whole runtime.

This will divide viewers. It is a very slow paced movie but is beautiful to look at all the way through. The movie was shot beautifully, but casual movie watchers will get bored I feel like. Hopefully im wrong.
