Very good movie overall. Reason why I bought the 4k HDR disc instead of downloading the digital? It's all in the audio. You will never get the audio quality from a digital download than you will get with the actual bluray disc from your player through your AVR to your TV in Hi-Res audio. Never. You'll never get True atmos or Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master audio or DTS-X. Those audio forms can't be reproduced by streaming.

This is a great remake of the classic movie and WW II battle for Midway which was the turning point for the war for the US. Great special effects put you into the seat of the dive bombers making runs through a firestorm of enemy anti-aircraft fire making their attacks of Japanese carriers.

Film - I really enjoyed this film when I saw it theaters. I pre-ordered as soon as it was available through best buy. It's definitely not Saving Private Ryan, but works in it's own way. Steelbook packaging - I liked the sleeve they added to this. You normally don't get that and it really adds a cool touch.

This movie is excellent,it shows what happened on both sides and was realistic unlike the 1970s version. The extras were also great as it showed how they made the carrier and planes for use in the movie. If you are into military history ,I highly recommend this movie, it will not disapoint. The 4k is fantastic.

I wish I would have seen this film in the theater but I still thoroughly enjoyed this movie at home. I could not stop watching right from the beginning until the last scene of the movie. It made me want to read more about the Battle of Midway since these heroes were finally brought to my attention.

I was intrigued by this movie based on the fact that a lot of time and effort was spent on getting it "historically accurate". They did an excellent job with that and I also liked how they showed the two different sides (US and Japan). The special effects, especially in 4K, were not quite as good as I had hoped for/expected and, for that, I'm docking it 1 star.

This is a good movie. Could have done with out the redo of Pearl Harbor and the Doolittle raid. Should have spent time on Coral Sea and told you who all the different people were like they did in the original. No F4F Wildcats? So it is missing some things but it doesnt make it not worth watching. Enjoy.

The movie tried to put too much backstory and events so felt rushed when got to the major battle noted in the movie title. I would have liked to see more about the cat and mouse game played by both sides around the battle. The summary of the character's accomplishments at the end were a nice touch.

I'm a movie buff and a History buff. Having said that let me applaud Hollywood for getting it right, this time. This is a great movie. The World War II conflict was dramatic, heroic, romantic a war where men and women. Men and women of various hues gave their last ounce of devotion. I love this movie.

This was a more in depth movie of the original version with Peter Fonda and Charlton Heston. It showed both sides of what the country and military were going thru. Disagreed with the casting of Woody Harrelson in the Admiral role. He still looked too young. Overall it's a instant favorite for me. At times the story seem to jump too fast around. Showed Doolittle bombing of Tokyo and that's it. It's over!! Still a excellent work!!

This was a fairly decent war movie. The main reason i purchased it was for the Dolby Atmos soundtrack which totally rocks. You literally feel the planes flying back and forth in your room along with the bullets and explosions. Great movie if you want to show off your sound system to your buddies. Ready Player One is definitely the king of Atmos mixes. This movie ranks in the top 10

So much of WWII has been made into movies. So many battlegrounds fought, so many dead. War is not good. Left many wives, children, girlfriends, parents void of each one's presence. This is one of many battles fought that made a difference toward ending the war. Well made, well acted.

I really like this movie. It’s always a good thing to learn about the battles and the heroes who fought for our freedom . I thought they did a good job with all the graphics. I used reward‘s certificates to buy this, and also had free shipping. This was such a bargain for me. Thank you best buy !

Based on real people and war events. Midway puts Pearl Harbor movie to shame. If you watch Midway 4K UHD with surround sound system with height channels (Dolby Atmos), your ears and eyes gonna thank you !! Very nice Low Frequencies bass too. Highly recommended and a must see!

Midway is based on real events that took on the battle of midway, a clash between the American fleet and the Imperial Japanese Navy which marked a pivotal turning point in the during WWII there real life events of leaders and soldiers who use there bravery to overcome doing the war.

Yet another awe inspiring war movie that pales in comparison to the real thing (I'd imagine) but with the quality of this 4K release almost makes you feel like you're there, for better or for worse. Amazing quality on this steelbook too! Highly recommend!

A B Movie with a grainy (on purpose, for the era) grayish toned picture , but the soundtrack is a "10." Demo worthy sound. Will blow the roof off your house! I bought this just to hear the sound track. Movie itself was just a popcorn B war movie, but fun and watchable.

Midway is a classic WWII pearl harbor movie without the love story as the most recent movie that came out in the 2000s. Movie is accurate as accurate as a modern movie can do. You will not be disappointed in this film. Great action and acting...Glad to add to my collection!

Long about Charleston Heston did first Midway! This retelling in a much more in depth way let's you really feel intensity of how close things came to being completely different in this world. Alot of action, alot of tears, with a phenomenal cast assembled! Enjoy and let Midway forever change you!

This latest version of Midway is a decent enough but it suffers from a lack of detail and some poor casting choices. Ed Skrein, a British actor, who plays Richard "Dick" Best, one the heroic Dauntless dive bomber pilots who helped to sink four Japanese aircraft carriers just doesn't cut it. His "New Jersey" accent is not convincing and he overacts much of the time. Woody Harrelson as Admiral Chester Nimitz, overall commander of the Pacific Fleet is out of his depth, especially when compared to Henry Fonda's portrayal of Nimitz in the 1976 Midway movie. The technical effects of the bombing runs are good and the Atmos soundtrack is excellent with great use of the bass channel. The Dolby Vision and HDR10 versions are both very good. There is, however, a problem with the Dolby Vision version on some 4K UHD players, especially the Panasonic UB-820 and UB-9000, both superb machines. The movies freezes twice for around 15 seconds between 37 and 39 minutes. There appears to be an issue between these players and the latest Lionsgate release (including Knives Out). it should be noted that when the HDR10 version is played there are no problems so there is an option that avoids the issue. I'll recommend this but conditionally.
