It's better to have this than the long cord to power the firestick

i bought at same time as the firestick. my tv does have usb port but this would not work to charge the fire stick

I tried this on several tv's and it would not power a Fire Stick on any of them.

Does not keep the stick powered on. It keeps shutting down.

Does not work save your time and money.. worked for one day then Fire stick continuous bootup loop..tried two different Firestick, TVs and Mission power cables. TV's are less than a year old and have the correct USB voltage.

It isn't working. I bought one from Amazon and it works great. I need to return the one I bought from Best Buy. I'd recommend it to a friend if it worked

This is an unneeded accessory and unless the back of your set is a small enough space, this accessory is cumbersome.

Can't say much about how much I have save on power surge strip outlet....haha This thing is fairly simple and easy to use. A straight plug and play thing. I don't know how you can go wrong with it. Unless you have a defective one. I have many boxes that take up too much power strip outlet...This greatly minimize that woes! I would definitely recommend getting one of these if you want to have a nice clean looking TV.

The Mission MC9 Power USB Cable is a unique device that claims to power your Fire TV Stick using the TV's 500ma USB port as opposed to a 110, 220, 240vac to 5vdc adapter, thus saving an AC receptacle. The adapter is 10-3/4" in length, sufficient distance between the USB and HDMI ports on most TV's. I used an old Olympia 32" LCD HDTV as my test bed. My first throughts were "do I really need this adapter?" To answer this question, I connected a very short USB to micro USB connector between my TV's USB port and the Fire TV Stick. The USB port obviously did not provide enough power to support the Fire TV Stick. The Fire TV Stick would continuously start to launch, proceeding as far as the flash screen and then crash. I next replaced the USB adapter cable with the Mission MC9 Power USB Cable. The Fire TV Stick launched successfully on the first attempt. I ran this device through it's paces for about 6 hours, watching 1080P content specifically. Streams were smooth without any signs of hesitation or pixellation. I also tried several cold boots without incident. It provided consistent sufficient power throughout the test period. The MC9 does exactly what it was designed to do. Out of curiosity, I tested it with a Chromecast device that I no longer use. The Mission Power USB Cable worked just as effectively with that device as well. I'm thinking that it should work fine with any streaming stick that has the same power configuration as the Fire TV Stick and should be marketed as such. For $12, it tidies up the entertainment system wiring while freeing up, in my case, a 110vac receptacle. Best of all, it works. It actually works. Well worth the cost.

There is a USB port on the back of your TV, but it doesn't have enough "oomph" to power a FireTV Stick when it does things like storing your WiWf network and password and your Amazon username and password. Amazon gives you an adapter to get the opwer from 110VAC, but it6's a big cune that crowds out plugging anything into the next sockets - and you end up with yet another ugly cord running down the wall. This cable, by some sort of magic, gets enough power from your TV's low power USB port to do the trick. Hey, it's not "Peace on Earth", but if Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. I'm happy to have "Peace in My Bedroom" (You're free to put your Fire TV anywhere you like, but I want to be comfortable when it's "Prime Video And Chill" night!

I love the fact that this cable makes setting up Fire TV Stick so simple. I didn't have to find another AC outlet near my TV. Instead I just simply connected Fire TV Stick to my TV's USB port and it powered right up.

I got this cable to replace the long power cable for my Amazon Fire Stick. My TV is wall mounted and that was the only cable that had to hang down to plug in. Swapped it out and it works and looks great! I've got a somewhat older Toshiba TV.
