Even though this is going to be more of a niche title, Monster Boy is great. Anyone who loved Wonder Boy 3, either back in the day or recently through the new remake, will love this game. If you're considering this game you probably already fall into this camp, so my job is really just to assure you it's as good as you're hoping. Play it!

I remember playing the wonder boy/monster boy series as a little kid and now playing this as an adult brings back such fond memories. It’s a great game with beautiful hand drawn animations and vibrant colors. The gameplay is simple yet deep and it’s fun to boot. Any platformer fan would be satisfied with this great game.

I'm relatively new to the confusing Wonder Boy series, but this game is really scratching that classic gaming itch. An action RPG built on a seamless world of exploration, this game is really just tongs of fun to play. If you want something that feels classic with all the modern amenities and some gorgeous graphics check this one out!

Having played Wonder Boy in Monster World a lot while growing up, I was super excited to hear about Monster Boy. I was a little worried it might not turn out as good, but those fears were totally unfounded and I've been enjoying every minute of this. Perfect if you like Metroidvanias, Mega Man, or previous Wonder Boy titles.

The game is great for switch beginner and retro players. Music and visual are appealing to any person at any age. It does not have multiplayer; otherwise, I would have given 5 stars.

Game starts out a little slow, but once you unlock more characters it picks up quickly. The game is absolutely gorgeous and exploring its world was so much fun! If you are trying to 100% it, you should get about 25-30 hours of gameplay. After that there's really no replay value, but it's well worth the price tag.

Play this game. Wish this game didn't come out the same day as Smash. It is fantastic, it was made by a group of devs that really love the genre. Music and art are awesome. It is so much fun to play, one of my favorite games of 2018.

This is like the 7th game in the series, which last appeared on the sega genesis. Despite the weird naming history (look it up), this feels very true to the original series, and is just fun to run around, explore, and enjoy the world. Fun action platformer in an age when those are rare.

If you’re a fan of Wonderboy III then you will like Monster Boy. It plays like its predecessor, but expands upon it greatly with a lot more content, trickier puzzles, and more interesting uses of the different forms for the character. The only issue I have with the game is it takes a while to feel fun. I didn’t have the best time playing as the pig form, due to how tough the game felt. Since this was the first form, I wish the game were a little more forgiving at this point. After I achieved the second form the fun factor greatly improved.

This game is everything you want in a retro title with the new style graphics. Some parts you’ll get stuck and and when you realize what to do you’ll smack your forehead like “of course!” Those “why didn’t I think of that” type moments. Get this game!

I bought this game cause I miss the 2D style gameplay of the past. Monster Boy takes classic game design & adds modern graphics, great soundtrack & great character design. This game is definitely recommended for new & old school gamers alike.

I wasn’t sure about this game at first but I got it because I’m old and I love games that remind me of my childhood this game took a couple of hours to get into but hang in there it’s well worth it my favorite platformer so far of 2019. Must buy

I guess this game surprised me. Really brought me back to the good old 8bit / 16bit era side scrolling adventure games. And the hand drawn graphics is just a great touch and the game is well designed. Highly recommended.

So far I’m enjoying it after completing 1/2 genie hero. The difficulty is a little tricky at times but I’m enjoying the animal transformations that have a bit of a shantae feel. Very sega master system inspired with a new feel.

Another Sega classics finds a new life on modern platforms. This is great game and updates only make it better. If you enjoyed the Dragon's Trap you'll like this one too. Check.it out if you get a chance.
