Overseen by the original creator this new entry in the franchise will make long time fans extremely happy. With a great animated art style and tons of retro like challenge, you'll have hours of fun with this game.

Monster Boy is the Spiritual successor to the Wonder Boy games that many older gamers played when they were kids. While this isn't an officially sequel it is heavily influenced. The game play is fun, hard, but fair.

Monster Boy and the cursed kingdom has a wonderful art style it’s like playing a cartoon.There is a demo in the eshop, it’s worth trying out. This is a great addition to the switch library.

If you're a fan of side scrollers with some challenge than this is a must get. Different characters with different abilities really keeps this game fresh. Physical copy has a manual which is a really nice touch

I always loved the Wonder Boy games, especially The Dragon's Trap. After enjoying the remake of The Dragon's Trap last year, I was looking forward to this new addition to the series, and it certainly delivers!

I didn't expect a game that looked so simple but played so easily at first to skyrocket in complexity later on. Fun game, shows its oldschool roots while doing some fun new things, highly recommended.

If you’ve like Wonderboy then you’ll love Monster boy. If you haven’t played either I’d highly recommend them. Best 2D platformer on Switch. Instantly they are both in my top 5 games on the system.

This game is great! I have played some of the games on older consoles so I was very excited that this game came out. If you like cool platforming action games then definitely get this game.

Monster Boy brings back the classic side scrolling adventure that we have all come to love adding extra elements that make it a truly memorable experience. Would love to see a sequel soon!

This modern revival of the Wonder Boy series was a nice surprise. I would like to call it a Metroidvania style game, but I think the series (and the game this one is most closely based on, Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap) pre-dates that term! In this game you switch between animal forms to use different abilities that let you unlock more of the world, with your goal being to solve the mystery at hand. The visuals are what first caught my eye, and it's like playing a cartoon. The sound is great too, and the gameplay is tight. This is not a short game either - you will be busy for a good while, especially if you're trying to collect all the equipment, songs scrolls, treasure chests, and get 100% exploration on your map. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the game gets old-school hard at times (you will die a lot), esp early on when you are not very strong and later in certain areas when you don't yet have the ideal armor. Some of the puzzles were pretty obscure too (an optional one in the main town was ridiculous) and I had to look online for some help, which I never do.

This game is a great platformer. I'm not big on indie Metroid-Vania style games, but this one stands out from the rest with it's charming visuals and exciting game play. Highly recommend!

Picked this up because I downloaded the remake of the original game and was pleasantly surprised how well it played and looked so if you enjoyed the remake I can def recommend this sequel

I have really been missing out by playing this game sooo late. I like it. The platforming is a little similar to Donkey Kong on the Super Nintendo, but not as difficult.

Action adventure role playing 2d metroidvania with beautiful hand drawn graphics. They say it's a 15-20+ hour game and the gameplay is great. This is the sleeper hit of 2018! Buy it!

Great game, built and designed so you can explore every single nook and cranny without missing anything whatsoever. Gorgeous art and music also. A near perfect platformer.

I only bought this game on a whim and I have to say it is a surprisingly good game. It is basically a retro game that has been given a new lease on life on modern consoles.

If you are are a fan of old school great platformers, this is for you. Between this and Monster Boy, this is a great time for gaming. This game will not disappoint.

FDG made an amazing game! This is a 2D platformer and plays like a dream. It is incredibly challenging and fun. The powers are great to use and the game looks beautiful.

I loved this game's adorable artwork and catchy music. Exploring the world and using all the different powerups was a lot of fun.

It's not often we get a great platformer like this game. The graphical style and the character design are fantastic and the game is fun and challenging to play.
