Customers often highlight the extensive gameplay and abundant content as major strengths of Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. Many praise the game's large roster of monsters and the portability of the Switch version, while some mention a challenging difficulty and less streamlined controls compared to more recent entries in the series. The game's classic Monster Hunter formula and variety of weapons are also frequently cited as positive aspects.

After ignoring this franchise for so long, I decided to pick this up based on how much praise Monster Hunter World is getting. MHGU is a definitive port of the Nintendo 3DS game: Monster Hunter generations. This game adds some tweaks and quality of life updates to the game, but it's still not as accessible as Monster Hunter World. This game takes some time to get used to, but once you have a grasp of it it's very rewarding. The game has tons of game play styles, and offers so many different varieties of monsters to hunt that it's hard not to get addicted. If you've never been a fan of this game franchise, I highly recommend picking this up! And it's even more fun with a group of friends (Online compatible with up to 3 other players!)

First off, if you have played Generations on the 3DS, I'd recommend starting fresh. If you wanna rush into G-rank, power to ya, I know I did. However, that's leaving 2/3 of a 60$ game unplayed. Now then, Monster Hunter as a whole is a bit difficult to learn, tutorials are present but not as helpful, and there's almost no information about monsters' weakness and your skills. The game takes a bit to learn about but once you've learned it, you got it, and then it's off to the races. Secondly, this is NOT Monster Hunter World. It's a pre-World remake, it's not comparable to World, it's the tryhard strategy game to World's adventure game. Sick of hearing that. Anyway, grab the game, and you'll be loathing the Valstrax in no time.

This game is filled to the brim with content. You can easily have hundreds of hours into the game and still feel there’s more to do.
In addition to the content there are multiple ways of playing as well.

For anyone returning to MH from the games on the 3DS this is a welcomed upgrade. Graphics look great, gameplay is still awesome and the added content increases the playability. People who have only played Monster Hunter World may have a bit of a shock, but once invested, I think they'll enjoy it too.

If you like World over the older games, than skip this, but if you still like the older style, this is a must buy. Improved graphics, though not modern, it's great in portable mode still too.

Great game if you are ok with grinding. Like all monster hunter games, the goal is collecting weapons and armor to fight even harder monsters. This game has hundreds if not thousands of hours of content to complete.
I imported my saved file from Monster Hunter Generations so that I didn't have to start from low rank again. I've already put 50 hours into the game and I've enjoyed every second of it. I highly recommend getting a Nintendo Switch Online subscription as well, since hunting alone can be lonely at times.
The game itself was delayed twice due to bad weather. Other than this, everything was satisfactory.

The graphics are slightly dated, though still pretty, but what this game lacks in graphical power it more than makes up for in sheer content. Craft weapons and armor, train pets, hunt lots and lots and lots of monsters using lots of different weapons, styles, and arts.

If you've played any of what would now be called "Classic" Monster Hunter, you know roughly what you're getting into with Generations Ultimate's main gameplay loop. A solid action game with a highly satisfying combat system that circles into a Diablo-esque loot "grind". If you've never played a Monster Hunter, I am a tad hesitant to recommend this as your first. I would say to try World if you have a PS4/XBox/PC, or 4 Ultimate if you have a 3DS. Generations and Generations Ultimate don't do too well to explain everything, and a new player could easily be overwhelmed.
Generations Ultimate is the final game (as of now) in the classic Monster Hunter formula, and it knows it as it brings more Monsters into one game than ever before. Monsters, Locations, Weapons, Armor, and more from across the entire series have returned for one of the most content-packed releases Capcom have ever put out.
Though it may seem funny to others, one of the largest additions for me personally is the ability to "transmog" armor. That is to say, wear a piece of armor for skills, but have it look like another piece you like the looks of more. No clown suits just to have your favorite skills!
The game plays wonderfully on TV and in Handheld.
All-in-all, Generations Ultimate is well worth the price.

The return of Hunter Arts and Hunter Styles lead to more combat options and variations, a ridiculously huge amount of content, however it is graphically subpar, stiffer controls, segmented maps, poor camera, lacks QOL polish and can be daunting for a newcomer

This game is just as good as the previous monster hunter titles I have played. Now I can play on the big screen or like before wander around with it in hand-held form. It's a bit tricky to master at first but the tutorials are a great help in learning the rhythm of the game and learning what weapon you're best at. I haven't played since 3 Ultimate but it feels like riding a bike. You never really forget and the combos still work! A great find for any monster hunter fan or for someone looking to go carve up some crazy monsters and have fun while doing it!

My grandsons are very particular about the games they want to play. They study game reviews, and have a number of devices for gaming. After considerable study, they chose this Monster Hunter game for the Nintendo Switch. Monster Hunter has not disappointed!!! They have been thrilled with their new game.Although they spend most of their free time enjoying activities with the entire family, when they get into game mode, we let them play. Now they want to spend every extra moment playing Monster Hunter!!! I would recommend this came for any kid, especially those in their teens!

This game is the perfect extension to Monster Hunter Generations if you played it on 3DS and the save files even transfer too. There's 15 different weapon types each with a deep and varied moveset plus there's four different styles and hunter arts to mix in too so an absurd amount of gameplay variety. This game also has the largest amount of monsters out of any Monster Hunter game too.
Playing through the regular story could easily reach 100+ hours plus several times more content after that, and loads of quests for both solo and multiplayer options.
