I really enjoyed this. Loved the story and music on this. It was very well done, and Sam Rockwell did a excellent job on this.

I saw this movie a few years ago and when I was at Best Buy last week it was on sale so I grabbed it.
This is one of those sci-fi movies that one can watch over and over. There virtually are no actions in it – no shooting, no aliens, and nothing crashes onto any planet or buildings.
Earth has run out of the materials they can use for energy. The movie didn't go into the detail, but I assume all oil, gas, and all that were exhausted. However helium-3, the substance on the moon, can be used to replace all that.
There are only two major actors in this movie. Sam, the sole human station at a small base on the moon who looks after the automated mining machines and he is counting the days he can return to earth. His assignment is three years and the only thing that keeps him company is a legless robot whose voice was played by Kevin Spacey.
The robot has to free rein of the entire place guided by the track on the ceiling (instead of on the floor, thus legless.) The relationship is cordial enough - something like from the movie Stanley Kubrick's 2001. Sam is very lonely and is looking forward to returning home to be with his wife and his young daughter. However, there are plot twists at the later part of the movie that made it very interesting.
I don't want to give away the plot but I have seen it so many times already and have enjoyed Sam Rockwell (the main actor)'s performance.
This movie is not scary and I think teenagers may find it interesting and fun to watch. Younger viewers may find it boring because there really are no actions in it.
It was a good buy!

I really love Moon.. I have seen it a couple of times, and now I am glad that I own it! I wouldn't want to give the plot away, so I will keep it to the point. This is pure Sci Fi mixed with some mystery. This is not an action movie, and you are expected to watch without distractions as the events unfold. I think is as a bit of a Twilight Zone feel to it. Great movie!

"Moon" is one of the best sci-fi films I have seen in the past decade. I first saw it at an arthouse cinema, and my wife went crazy over it. She had been clamoring for the DVD version and I found it on sale at an excellent price at Best Buy. Must say that I have seen this film three times now and it never gets old, always leaving me guessing about what the real story is.

Although it is relatively unknown, in my opinion this is one of the best space sci-fi movies ever produced. The story line is quite compelling and there are a number of plot twists. Sam Rockwell is an incredible actor who disappears into every role he plays - and this film is no exception. If you are a fan of sci-fi and you haven't yet seen this film, be sure to put it on your 'to watch' list.

I didn't hear much about this when it was released, but it was recommended to me. I saw it on cable first and really enjoyed it. It's not as flashy as a Star Wars or Star Trek film, there aren't any big space battles or anything. It's more of a mystery story. I recommend it for someone looking for a change of pace in Science Fiction movies.

Job Opportunity: Alone on the Moon for Three Years

Sam Rockwell stars in a virtual one-man show as Sam Bell, the lone employee at a lunar mining operation just shy of the far side of the Moon. From this location the Earth hangs permanently in the sky just barely above the Lunar horizon. He is not on the dark side of the moon, since there is no such place. The Moon has day and night like Earth, except Moon's full day-night cycle is a month long rather than 24 hours. Like a rocket launch to a distant star, the story starts out slowly, accelerating constantly until toward the end you wonder how they are going to be able to wrap it up in the time remaining. It is an intriguing character study despite its limited cast, with great acting performances. Moon has some echoes of Soylent Green, featuring a corporation that has devised an innovative way of managing personnel; of 2001 Space Odyssey, with an enigmatic robot co-worker; of Total Recall, with memories called into question; and Monsters Inc., with "scream cans" of energy.
The Blu-ray offers great clarity of fine details like the lunar dust and rocks flying from the mining machinery, very believable moonscapes, intricate interiors of vehicles and the lunar base, and realistic physical decline of the astronaut/miner. Audio is understated but very effective, with a minimalist musical score that suits the claustrophobic environment.
How unrealistic, I initially thought, that this massive industrial operation on the Moon would have only one employee. But that's the lynchpin of Lunar Industries' brilliant staffing plan. Sam Bell is at the end of his three-year contract, and will be returning to Earth in two weeks. The storyline is simple but intense, and to tell more would lessen the finely tuned suspense. Well worth an evening's viewing. In fact, I watched it two nights in a row.

MOON is an exciting film full of surprises. Sam Rockwell's performance is masterful.
The clever plot line never disappoints. There are adventures around every corner of this character's survival.
A treasure to own in 4K.

This movie is not well known, and that's a shame. It would be classified as a Science fiction movie, but it has much to say. Sam Rockwell's performance in this movie is amazing, a truly great actor, and a really great movie.

This is an obscure, underappreciated film.
It has the feel of a late '70's SciFi movie.
Great story. Great acting.
If you are a fan of Alien, 2000, The Black Hole or Silent Running, you need to see this!

So I am a big Sam rockwell fan and am always impressed with his performances but this one is next level. Modern classic Sci Fi with one of Rockwells best performances and also a cameo from Matt Berry.

I was ecstatic when I saw this at my local Best Buy. Sci-fi but not outrageously fictional, Moon can be confusing to follow at first but an engrossing mystery ultimately that keeps you coming back for more.
