Bought it for my nephew...besides, I'm a big fan of mortal kombat

There was a lot of action, and it was a very entertaining game.

I don't usually play video games but I bought this so I would have something to play with my fiancé, it's fun but he beat it in one day and I actually thought it was boring

Just picked this up a few days ago because "Mortal Kombat" was one of the first video games my son and I played years ago on an old Sega system. I was hesitant because games have changed so much, I wasn't sure how similar it would be to the old games.... Well, the graphics are incredible, the special moves are still there. You can actually choose to play with the MK characters only, the DC characters only, or a mix of both. I didn't notice any bad language, and the violence is toned down a bit (a good thing in my book), making it something I felt comfortable letting my 12 year old nephew play (especially with "Blood" option turned to off).

This is truly one of the best Mortal Kombat games ever. The classic characters like Scorpion, Liu Kang, and Sub-Zero look as realistic as ever. I really like the special moves for each character, especially the Pro Moves, which link special moves together for extra damage. Obviously, I am a much bigger fan of the MK characters because A) I am more used to them and B) you can do combos with them more easily. Nevertheless, the DC characters have very nice styles as well that really bring out each one's persona. I also like the story modes. You fight on either the DC or the MK side, but you actually go through several characters throughout the story. Therefore, it really challenges you to learn the moves of all the characters. There was only one thing I found disappointing. If you are looking for more blood, think again. Since the game is rated T, the violence has been tapered down a bit. I also heard that the DC people did not want their characters to have fatalities. Some of them do, and others have "Heroic Brutalities". Go figure. Overall, this game is extremely fun and brings fresh energy into the MK series. The graphics are spectacular and the gameplay is simple, yet sweet. Now if only they put the folks at Midway put MK Armageddon on the PS3...

This is the first mortal kombat game to come out on ps3. It is easily the best fighting game on the ps3 right now. I've played virtua fighter and other fighting games and this is way better. However, this game is not without its flaws. There are only 20 characters in the game and 2 unlockable ones (darkseid, shao kahn). Another thing I noticed when I played the game is the watered down fatalities. I guess Mortal Kombat wants to appeal to a younger audience now. Other than those two things everything else about this game is solid. The story mode is fun because you get to fight characters from both dc and mk, and the graphics are spectacular. The arcade mode is also fun. The moves are easy to learn. Overall this game will keep entertained for a long time. If you like fighting games then this game is for you.
