This game has endless hours of fun. It has a solid story mode and has the towers which is like an arcade mode. The towers vary and have different difficulties for the hardcore fans that want to get a challenge. Offline mode offers a ton of game modes. If you aren't playing story, you can play versus, versus with cool stipulations that test your luck, Tower mode for arcade endings, and a faction war to earn points towards your selected faction. The gameplay, controls, and especially the graphics. MKX gives you all the gruesome fatalities we loved growing up.

I played the original Mortal Kombat in the arcades and have been a fan since. Although, I don't feel the game is as solid as the Street Fighter series, MK has it's own strengths. If you're a Street Fighter player, the inputs in Mortal Kombat take some time getting used to.( i.e. you have to press a button to block.) This latest installment has the best visuals. Fatalities and Brutalities are gruesome in HD. The game has many unlockables in the Krypt and has you hooked on trying to unlock everything by earning coins for playing matches. There is a decent number of characters to choose from currently but it's exciting to know more will be released with future DLC. A PSN Plus account is necessary to play online so I have not been able to try any ranked matches to test out the lag. If you're a fighting game fan, this is a game you should definitely consider.

Four years after the last installment, NetherRealm and Mortal Kombat return bigger and badder than ever. Continuing with the story of the reboot (MK 2011 retold the events of the 1990s MK1, MK2, and MK3) this story also stretches 25 years over introducing some new faces. The game is a lot more technical now and tons of fun. With three variations to choose from, you can start off with one, but then you end up playing with another because it suits your style. The story is probably one of the best told in the Mortal Kombat franchise. I'm excited to see what comes next.

Netherrealm Studios has taken the challenge of following up the excellent MK (2011) and their hard work has paid off with MKX. The cast, half composed of new characters, succeeds where past Mortal Kombat games have failed by making everyone seem important to the story and well thought out.The new variations are a welcome way to diversify how you play each character. My only qualms are the spotty faction wars/online play and a story that is decidedly less epic than the previous game's. However, these issues don't prevent enjoyment and I highly recommend MKX.

X is by far the best Mortal Kombat game in the series. It's smooth, easy to play, and has great new characters. There are two somewhat important downsides that may be more important to others, but one is the price of bonus content. $30 for 4 extra characters is too much. And I like the diverse roster, but some of the loved original characters are missing, like Sindel and Baraka. I'm all for including them as DLC, but that's another cost to think about. At any rate, MKX is fantastic and I really enjoy it. The build from Injustice has been amazing.

I have loved mortal kombat since the 90s arcade versions, and this was definitely one of the best entries. The graphics are phenomenal, although if you do not like blood or gore, you should definitely stay clear of this game. There are so many modes to play, the story modes, the daily and hourly towers, online with other people, the traditional towers, it is awesome! My only complain is that some games online can have lag and make it difficult to fight others. However, this doesn't happen too often. If you like Mortal Kombat, get this game!

Best Mortal Kombat I've played since I was a kid

This Mortal Kombat is the best one I've played since I played Mortal Kombat as a kid. It brings back a lot of originals such as the favorites Scorpion and Sub Zero, but also offers some new blood like Cassie Cage, Jacqui Briggs and others. This game plays as well as the old ones. The moves are pretty easy to pull off, same as before. I like the new variations they added to this one. Now I can switch fighting styles which adds different moves and strategy for each fighter. Overall this game is a home run that I'll be playing for awhile.

First, this is an excellent fighting game. The characters are a good mix of new and old, and the ability to choose from 3 different styles for each fighter makes a difference. The visuals look great, the audio can be customized for your sound system, and the fighting is slick. Learning to use Special Moves is easy, but mastering how to use them effectively is the challenge. The online aspect and the Challenge Towers add great value and provide fresh challenges. The Fatalities are ridiculous, as always. I am enjoying this game!

Bought this game for my 16 year old son, wanted to pass the game which I loved playing as a youth myself. The game strategy and overall game play has not changed much, but graphics, characters as well as overall settings have been greatly improved. Because this is an MA rating, I would refrain from providing to a youth who may not show too much maturity, although you can change the settings. The settings change would remove the gruesome "finish" sequences but it would still allow the fighting without the blood and guts.

This game is awesome all though there are some micro-transactions that I don't agree with, but it's still a great game overall. The graphics are amazing and the frame rate is smooth even when playing multi-player. I have not experienced any lag time so far. There is a new mechanic introduced in MKX that gives each character 3 different fighting styles that give the game a bit more depth. The fatalities remain creatively disgusting and brutalities make a come back that was not in MK9.

I've played just about every MK game there is, and this one is by far my favorite. The story mode is fun, and it goes by really quick, and there are plenty of game modes to choose from. I also am liking the new characters. The only downer is they are lacking a lot of the classic characters. You can buy the expansion pack for when they add them, but that will run you an extra $25 on top of the $60 for the game. That being said, I would highly recommend this game to any MK fan.

    Most accessible Mortal Kombat yet

MKX is easily the most fun and accessible of the Mortal Kombat games. The story is shorter than before, but is more focused and action-packed. The new characters are refreshing and bring more attitude to the MK universe. The game doesn't take itself too seriously, as the signature violence is over-the-top ridiculous. Most importantly, though, the gameplay is satisfying. It's snappy, taut, and more fun than any of the previous games. Highly recommended for fighting game fans.

The fights are technically impressive, the graphics are beautiful and of course the fatalities (the reason we actually buy this game) are gory and completely over the top. The game is a great follow-on to the previous entry Mortal Kombat (MK9). it has a good story mode and provides ample opportunity for single player challenges. Multiplayer is also a joy my only complaint and the reason it gets 4 instead of 5 stars is the Krypt (where you unlock the extra skins and stages etc) now takes the form of an adventure game complete with it's own monsters. Most might enjoy it but I'd welcome a simpler way to unlock the wealth of hidden extras for a more fulfilled multiplayer experience.

Mortal Kombat has made its bread and butter on the fact that it uses over the top kills blood and gore. Mortal Kombat X brings it to a new level. All the fatality's...Check. All the blood....Check. Having to re-watch something cause you really didn't believe it the first time....yep you saw it correct the first time. Lots of online stuff for you get buried in. If you liked any of the previous versions of Mortal Kombat. You'll certainly enjoy this.

We've come a long way since the days of arcades and SNES/Genesis ports. Today's Mortal Kombat not only harnesses the power of today's consoles to provide an increasingly visceral experience, but also provides the player with even more modes to keep you playing in the coming months. From story mode and arcade mode to online multiplayer and living towers, there's something for every fighting fan. For parents, keep in mind that this is a mature rated game, and the signature violence that the series is known for is on display and quite graphic. Otherwise, sit down and get ready for one of the better fighting games in recent memory!

Mortal Kombat for the PS3 was the best fighting game ever. That was true until the newer PS4 version hit in 2015. It is even better! Better looking graphics, a faster engine, new characters, old faces, familiar game play on a way better level. This is a must have, even if you have the older versions. More characters are available via DLC; unfortunately for more $$. But, it keeps getting better. and better. and. better.

This game lives up to the next generation counsels and has great new features as well as the same fighting fans will always enjoy. The fighters have different styles that can be changed to suit the players preference. Enough new characters to make the game interesting but old favorites are still present to enjoy. New fatalities and the faction system makes it highlyeyes replay able this game is worth the purchase
