    Best phone I've ever had!

This is a great phone. I have been using it for a couple of weeks and have been very pleased. I do not plan on upgrading for the next 5 years because of how amazing this phone is. It is a great investment if you're looking for an upgrade in hardware with a moto phone. Honestly this phone kind of feels like an iphone and it looks bougee, but the os is android. I like the freedom that android devices have (can use any app store, not locked to just apps you have to spend ludicrous amounts of money on). This phone is also unlocked so you can use any provider that you see fit. I honestly don't know why more people in America haven't switched to using Motorola. Pros: 1. Connection: can use 5g data, and with my data plan I have good cell reception. Bluetooth is very snappy since this phone uses the newest Bluetooth 5.3. It also uses the latest Wi-Fi 7, and I think it's backwards compatible with older versions too. 2. Touch screen and UI: screen is curved, gives a modern look though I personally could care less. Touch screen haptics are incredible. The UI is breath-taking and very responsive and easy to use. Again, very reminiscent of an iPhone. The UI is highly customizable, you can even have settings for accessibility like having color-blind options or increasing the font size. You have the freedom to change how many apps display on one page, and can change the shape all of your apps have (circle, square, round-edged). This phone also has many options with widgets. I have a page where I have some of my favorite contacts as a widget so it's quick to access them. You can even have widgets for google maps, google calendar, etc. so that you can view things in that app without having to open it. Also looks way cooler. 3. The finger print scanner is built into the bottom of the touch screen. This is great! It is truly an improvement and should not be overlooked. It is also much easier to scan your finger compared to previous designs with earlier moto phones. I have had poor experiences with previous moto phones because my other phones had the finger print scanner built into the power button on the side of the phone. This was inconvenient, and after years of use it got gunky and wouldn't reliably scan even if you cleaned it. 4. Camera: the camera is absolutely incredible, and probably one of the main draws to this phone for me personally. Previous moto phones don't even compare. Uses AI to adjust things like white balance to make pictures look good without having any photography know-how. It has amazing zoom, common photo resolutions like 9:16, and lots of options like portrait modes, slow motion video, and improved night vision. It also has a 'manual' photo taking mode if you like to have more control over the camera settings. A notable improvement is the reduced file size for pictures even when they are the ultra-res pictures. They take up less space when compared to earlier moto phones, while having a truly incredible and professional quality. This would be great for social media people, small businesses, or anyone that wants easy professional-quality pictures. 5. Battery: as with most moto phones the battery life is amazing. Can go about 2.5 days without charging with minimal use (no streaming, YouTube, screen off most of the day). Charges freakishly fast with the charger included when you buy the phone. Fully charges in less than 2 hrs. The charger is a usb c port so you have more options for charging, and have the added benefit of using the usb c cable for file transfer or downloading custom apps. This is a great feature for app developers. 6. Design: the back is some sort of carbon fiber or metal material. I LOVE this. I avoid phones that have back glass. In my not very humble opinion it is a flawed design to have glass as the backing, and those types of phones are guaranteed to break eventually. As an outdoorsy person I like a phone that is more hardcore and durable. 7. The built-in speakers are actually pretty good. The phone uses dolby atmos drivers, and it shows. One day I forgot my Bluetooth speaker, so I just blasted music in my kitchen from my phone speakers and both the volume and quality were surprisingly good. Cons: 1. No aux cable port. Very inconvenient if you car doesn't have Bluetooth, or if you don't have Bluetooth earbuds. This does force you to upgrade other tech you have, if you want to listen to music or use a mic for voice commands and hands free access during driving. 2. No micro SD card slot. (This is made up for with a large internal storage, but I personally like to have options) 3. At the time of writing this, there are not a lot of options for a phone cases or screen protectors. I saw that there was an otter box phone case for the edge 2022, so I am hopeful that will eventually come out for this phone too.

Motorola edge plusV2023 vs. Samsung S23 FE

My wife has Samsung Galaxy 23 FE and I decided against it as I needed more memory. I will be the first to say I'm glad I did. I will compare a few points I've noticed in using both phones. First the build on both are very durable and and quality is evident in both designs. Both are IP68 water and dust resistant. Although Edge+ uses victus and I'm more confident of it's durability than the Fe which employs Gorilla Glass 5. Edge+ also has a better feeling while holding and using as the FE is heavier and the shard corners start to aggravate after sustained periods of use. The Edge+ comes out on top with the memory at an amazing 512GB where FE only harbors 128GB. Both boast 8GB RAM although as a content creator would love to have seen 12GB RAM, BUT I've yet to run into problems while editing videos. Yet again Edge+ takes it with running on the Snapdragon gen 2 chip and the FE on gen 1 which the FE does heat up very quickly and I've had problems with editing on it. The cameras well both are great, both have the ability to use duel record although the Edge+ seams to have better quality with normal pictures within certain light conditions and the FE surprisingly has better low light pictures. Edge+ takes another win on battery and charging I think this is a given as the Edge+ comes with a 68W quick charger and comes with a 5100 mAh battery compared with the FE 4800 mAh. Again this is a very notable difference especially when making and editing video's. Now the final nail in the coffin for me was the screen the Edge+ has a 6.7 in screen compared to the FE 6.4 in. I'll add that the Edge+ has a brighter screen with a clearer display, please consider it's a curved glass which is harder to protect but the curve isn't as drastic as on my old S10+ and I haven't encountered as many accidental screen touches, although there's been a few. In conclusion is it perfect NO I would love to had 12GB RAM, it's not offered at major carriers which limits getting cases easily in your local area. Unfortunately as beautiful as the reverse glass is with the frosted look it's black or nothing, no color in this world. This last complaint isn't even mine as I'm not a Netflix fan, BUT many have complained that it doesn't support HDR on Netflix. There's so much more I could say about what I love with this phone and very little of my dislikes. I'm going to end on a FE win as the Edge+ dominates almost every other aspect the FE has 1 yr less support than Samsung, although with 3 UI and 4year security updates I should have this phone for quite some time before worrying about buying another. In closing my wife is thinking about switching to Motorola and as of this review the only other phones I would consider over this one would be S23 Ultra and Pixel 8 pro for a android phone. But when comparing price against what is offered the Edge+ wins every time. Pictures took with a Samsung S23 FE

I've had this phone for a few weeks now and am greatly enjoying it. I am switching from a Galaxy S23U and aside from a camera downgrade, this device exceeds it in almost every way. 1. Battery life is exceptional, I can always get a full day out of it without issue, and if I'm a bit nicer I can stretch it into two days. 2. Performance is very strong thanks to the flagship CPU. Operation is fluid, there is no stutter, and apps/games run without issues. 3. Display is also very good. 1080p is totally fine for this screen size and the 165hz refresh rate keeps everything looking very smooth. 4. Eye Sensitivity options are great. Flicker free option is a life saver and the display itself is much kinder to the eyes for those with PWM sensitivity. 5. UI is very minimalist and Motorola's extras are very nice. twist to open camera and chop for flashlight are very useful. Personally I still prefer the customization afforded by samsung but Motorola is providing valuable customization that help bridge the gap. 6. Camera is pretty good in strong light scenarios and pretty decent at night, but its closer to something like an S21/21 or an iphone 13 than anything current gen. 7. 512gb storage as standard is very convenient. Great device and excellent value for the price.

This phone is worth 5 stars at it's discounted price! Still a decent value at full price, but practically unbeatable at half off. Been using it about a month and came from an iPhone 12. Display is beautiful and bright and battery gets me through over a full day. The fact the 68W wall brick is included is the cherry on top! It's Snapdragon processor and auto-refresh rate of up to 165 makes everything seamless with no lag swtiching and running multiple apps. The camera can't compete with higher end phones, but it is more than serviceable for most non-photograhers. Only phone in the $400 range with better shots is proably the Pixel 8A. I highly reccomend this for anyone looking for an almost stock-Android experience with higfh-end specs but at a mid-range price.

Amazing phone, especially for the price. It is a shame most people only look at Samsung or Apple in the US since other brands such as Motorola are making great phones. This phone offers 90% of the functionality of a flagship 2x the price. Pros -Slim design -Battery life -Great display -Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 -65W fast charging Cons -Speaker quality (lacks bass) -Cameras are average -Curved screen is hit or miss The phone is fast! It uses a mainly stock version of Android 13 (14 updates coming in 2024) with minimal bloatware, just some Motorola apps. The processor is flagship as is the storage speed. It has only 8GB of RAM if that matters to you but with 512GB of storage built in you can allocate 8GB extra with RAM Plus to add SWAP space. Charging and battery are amazing, you will easily get 1-2 days of use out of this phone or an all-day photo/gaming experience. Charging will go for 0-100% extremely quickly. The display is crisp at 1080P with up to 165hz, normally it is set to AUTO up to 120hz. The colors on the screen are great but I prefer it in the natural mode for more accuracy. Speakers are meh as they lack bass but they are plenty loud. If you like to listen to podcasts and music, they will do but I recommend you get some headphones. The camera matters to me on a phone and this one isn't bad, just not great. It is best geared toward portraits and struggles in low light unless you know what you are doing. It does support RAW so I suggest you use that or Gcam unless you want desaturated photos and lots of noise. As stated, you can get around that if you can not tolerate it. For most users, this camera will be perfectly fine and it is great for portrait photos with lenses that are equivalent to 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm (.5 UW, W, and Tele 2x). Macro mode works ok but any closer than about 1" it tends to blur.

I only bought this because the sale price was good. I had my sights set on a S25 Ultra but decided on less debt. All I really need is a solid performer to run mapping apps and a good camera. And this phone delivers Solid performance. Comparable to the S24+. Fastest in class charging with the right charger and cables. I understand and have experienced that you need to have Motorola chargers and their cables to take full advantage of their proprietary Turbo Charging protocol. Nice that they include both a charger and cable! I bought the silicon 6' cable and I like it better than the short 3' that they include. The silicon cables are more flexible. This thing has Great audio... way better than my old Samsung S24+. Streaming Youtube and such sounds much better and I like that. My old Samsungs were tinny sounding. The only downfall is that these don't get plentiful updates like Samsungs do. They're not very future proof. May 2027 is when they call it quits on security updates for this phone. Motorola needs to re-evaluate this if they want to remain competitive. Samsung kills them in update offerings and let's face it, software is what keeps these running fast and smooth. I hope this doesn't start running like junk as my Motorola G Power 2022 (Backup phone) already does. That phone had inferior hardware but used to run great and now it runs like a dog after just three years. Shame on Motorola for being cheap on software updates. If this Edge Plus starts running like garbage inside of the guaranteed update period, this will be my last Motorola phone. I debated going back to Samsung as this won't work with my Samsung Ultra Watch for the Health Monitor (EKG and Sleep Apnea Detection) app. It works for Samsung Health for tracking workouts and such, but that's all. I decided to keep this phone for the better audio. Hopefully Motorola comes out with a watch with health monitoring features as found on the Samsung Ultra Watch. All in all, it's a great phone. The extended edge design does make them susceptible to damage even when in a case so keep that in mind. Screen protectors available are mostly all TPU plastic, which is fine, but they aren't as hard and durable as glass which I couldn't find... with the exception of some offered by an off-brand company. Motorola needs to have curved glass screen protectors and more rugged cases available. The Motorola Branded cases look too slick for my liking. Aftermarket case offerings are minimal. I went with one from Poetic Revolution and it's pretty good but was barely compatible with my supershieldz screen protector. I had to perfectly align the screen protector as if it touched the case edge, it makes it peel up. Being an edge to edge screen that is susceptible to damage, I wish Motorola had their own otter box style case solution. Here's a copy/ paste from Motorola's website on the status of updates that come with this phone: Currently receiving regular security updates. Device launched on May, 2023 Security updates will stop on May, 2027 Launched On: Android 13 Upgraded To: Android 14 Next OS: Android 15 *This device will receive at least bi-monthly SMRs updates

Overall great phone so far! I have had this phone for a month now and purchased it to replace a phone that's screen no longer worked. This phone is fast, has lots of storage and great visual display. The only issue I have found with the phone is more than likely an issue with my size. I'm a very petite woman and have very small hands. When trying to take a picture it is difficult to grip the phone and push the snap with one hand. That's not a problem for most pictures I would take but is an issue trying to take pictures for example if trying to picture a hard to see area when assessing something needing repair. I'm sure that there is a way around this I just don't know what it is yet. Outside of that I have no complaints with the phone and would highly recommend it to anyone, unless it's a photographer with very small hands lol!

For the price, this phone has a lot to offer from the excellent battery life, to a clean android software experience, the cameras are good not great but very serviceable, the 512gb of storage gives me a lot to work with. The phone has 165hz refresh and with the all battery it feels so smooth and crisp when viewing videos or playing games. The screen is 1080p+ (2400x1080) and for what it is it looks remarkable close to 1440p. It has been a joy viewing videos, playing games on it. The screen is curved thus finding screen protectors are a problem but I found some on Amazon for less than $10 USD that have been very serviceable and easy to apply. I come from a long time usage of Samsung phones, and to be frank and honest I really love the near stock android UI this phone runs. I hate how Samsung has double of all android apps; two stores, two text message apps, two phones, etc... This Motorola doesn't have those issues and what little extras Motorola added on are fine. There were some bloatware apps like Facebook being preinstalled but they were easy to remove. If you are coming from an apple device I would recommend having a USB-c to lighting cable handy to transfer over your stuff or if coming from another android device a standard USB-c to USB-c cable to make the transfers easier. Some cons I have with the phone is the scarcity of screen protectors options, only 3 years of software updates, and no expandable storage. But for an unlocked phone it works great on ATT I have no issues with Wi-Fi calling and my signal strength has been strong, unlike my unlocked iPhone 12 Pro which had horrible service and signal strength on ATT. Overall for the three weeks I had this phone it has exceeded my expectations. It is far better than any Samsung phone I had & better than my iPhone 12 pro. I would highly recommend this product. In regards to the screen protector the Supershieldz HD Clear screen protectors (2pack) on Amazon is the only I could find and it cost me $8 for a 2 screen protectors. Very easy to install just follow the instructions good value too. And for the phone case I have the one from Motorola the Motorola Edge+ (2023) / Edge 40 Pro Soft Protective Case with Microfiber Interior Lining in black good case has keep it safe and protected from a drop off my desk.

I upgraded from a Huawei Mate 20 Pro as its battery performance was now below par for its age. It was my true workhorse. I chose the Motorola becuase of the large storage capacity and battery life primarily, as well as the awesome screen and camera. The Edge Plus 2023 is literaly flagship level performance at a good deal. Andoird 13 is also simple and easy to use, unlike the EMUI from my older Huawei phone. What turned out to be a big surprise for me was that it has an almost identical feel in the hand with the curved screen endges. It became instantly familiar to hold and operate too with the buttons located in the same place as my previous phone. That was something I didn't expect. I particularly liked the black textured rear and feels really premium. I have been using the camera for videos and stills throughout my on-going vacation and it has not disappointed thus far. The camera is very good, just not on the same lavel as a top-level iPhone Pro Max , Galaxy or Huawei flagship phone. However, it will hold its own and produce wonderful photos and videos. Believe me. If you are second guessing yourself, go have a look in person and it may just change your mind. *Bought in store early December (Burbank CA).

Been a fan of Motorola's budget and midgrade phones since the Moto X, but I'm loving them creeping into flagship phone competition with some of the big boys. This phone is great! Super lightweight - after carrying the S23 Ultra around for a few months, I sometimes panic that I may have left this phone behind because I can't even tell it's in my pocket. Amazing battery life - I don't even know what my battery percentage is at night because I don't even think about battery life anymore. Two full days easy! Beautiful screen and almost stock Android. Just the simple enhancements we've come to love from Moto - hatchet flashlight!!! Speedy - top of the line processor and plenty of ram. Nice! The cameras are the only place Moto is still lagging behind... I'm no expert, but I think this is more of software issue than hardware? Bad/missing computational processing? Slow shutter speed. Grainy night photos. If cameras and photography are your jam, the Pixel 7, S23 or OnePlus 11 might be better bets in the same price range.

Overall a very good phone. For the Price, you cannot beat it. OLED screen quality is excellent and does not give PWM headaches like other vendors (and the reason I purchased this device). The Processor and internal storage work great as the handset is fast and responsive. Battery life is long as well. Motorola's Android UI is very clean and easy to operate. Fingerprint reader and Facial recognition also make unlocking a breeze. Using on AT&T and have achieved fast downloads The two reasons for the four star rating 1) The camera could be better. This may be something as basic as software upgrades but images taken are not as good as photos taken on my previous handset (Samsung) 2) Will sometimes reset itself while adjacent to another handset. I carry two devices (One for work, one for personal use). When holding both devices in the same hand, it appears the NFC between the two handsets will trigger a restart. This may be a security design, but it can be annoying. Would I buy again. Depends. I really loved my previous Fold but the headaches became too much. After a month of use, they are no longer an issue. Recommendation... Buy a case or something to help with the grip as it is slick and can easily be dropped. If Motorola were to release a larger folding phone (Not the new Razr) similar to the Pixel Fold Or Samsung Fold, I would likely be upgrading to that device.

The good of Pixle without the Google-ness

This is the fist time I've bought a 'flagship' phone. previously I had a google pixle 6a, which was good but sorely lacking in many ways. moto proves itself by leveraging everything nice about android while adding some cool stuff like moto actions. Also, this camera will make you notice how nice your phone really is, especially when youre used to 12megapixel, and not 50. Kinda hard to get a picture of a phone on the phone, so youre getting a frog. I dont make the rules, but I sure will benefit from them.

Hi Gabriel, thank you for your awesome feedback. It’s great to hear you're enjoying your first flagship experience with Motorola. Coming from the Pixel 6a, the jump to a 50MP camera and Moto’s thoughtful features like Moto Actions can definitely feel like a big upgrade. Motorola has a way of adding just the right enhancements without overcomplicating things. I was exited when i ordered this phone for my business and I don’t regret buying it. The price was good and the phone hasn’t failed me yet. The camera quality is chef’s kiss I really love it, Also I love the edge lighting that it has when you receive a notification. The battery life is awesome I can use it all day without having to charge it till I get home from work late at night.

I usually don't post reviews but this phone sure does deserve it, the display, the battery life, the cameras, the build quality, all of this phone is amazing. Motorola has really stepped it up this year, can't wait to see what's next for them.

In full disclosure, I've always had a soft spot for Motorola products going back to the original Razr, Moto Mods, the ones with wooden backs, etc. I even bought the 2022 Edge, which I wanted to love but just couldn't. I have other phones, an Apple 13 Pro and I was using a Pixel 7 (which I also wanted to love but couldn't...so I traded the Pixel 7 when I bought the Edge + 2023. I love everything about the new Edge + and especially (drum rolllllll) the CAMERAS!!! Build quality is top shelf and it's surprisingly thin. If you've ever wanted to love a Motorola phone but just knew it wouldn't work out because it never quite has...you should really look closely at the new Edge +. Plus, I had $75 in loyalty cash for using the BestBuy credit card and got $225 for the Pixel. Great deal, great phone. Now, about that NEW Motorola folding/flip phone. I might be in trouble!

I got this phone to replace my Samsung, and I absolutely love it. The screen is super smooth, the battery life is amazing, and the performance is smooth as butter. Best phone I've ever bought.

I upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy S20 (3 year old phone) to this. The internal storage upgrade from 128 to 512 GB is massive for mobile devices, especially if you play mobile games. One thing I've noticed is that when using speaker phone, my recipients tend to say I'm cutting out. When I disable speaker phone, they can hear me fine. I am going to look into the settings to see if there is a way to fix this. For games, this thing runs Genshin on max settings with no issue, you just need to set the phone to high performance mode using Motorola Gametime (pre-installed on phone). It can play Star Rail on very high settings without high performance mode, so Genshin is a little more demanding is all. Very long lasting battery - I use a wireless charger to preserve the physical charging port on the device. Got this on sale at best buy for $599.99, minus trade in, etc. Very good deal and competitive pricing against Samsung Galaxy phones.

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback, EricL. We're glad to hear that the internal storage upgrade from 128GB to 512GB has made a significant difference, especially for mobile gaming. It's impressive to hear that the phone runs Genshin on max settings smoothly and that the battery life is very long-lasting. Utilizing a wireless charger to preserve the charging port is a smart choice. We're thrilled that you found a great deal at Best Buy, making the purchase a very good deal with competitive pricing.
