My wife had her Galaxy S5 stolen recently, and we were going to upgrade her to the LG Nexus 5x when it came out anyway. So to bridge the gap between having her phone stolen and the Nexus 5x release, I purchased her the 2015 Moto G. I keep up with mobile tech and Android, and knew the Moto G was highly touted when you compare specs to the price. After a week, she decided she didn't want the Nexus 5x any longer, and wanted to stick with her Moto G because it suited her needs perfectly and she didn't feel like she was missing anything from her Galaxy S5 or that she was expecting from the Nexus 5x. As for me, I played with it for a bit, and it is impressive. I buy Nexus devices, because stock android is the best. Touchwiz/Sense/etc, all the bloated skins OEM's put on their phones are garbage. Moto does an absolutely brilliant job with taking vanilla Android and adding a few features and done. It just runs smooth. She gets great battery life, I'm actually jealous. The features are good, it feels like a solid build quality, takes pretty good photos and should be updated to Marshmallow pretty soon. I seriously considered upgrading to one myself, but the lack of NFC is a definite deal breaker for me. I would miss wireless charging as well. But all and all, if you aren't a power user pushing your phone to it's limits, the 2015 Moto G just simply can not be beaten.

Went to BB and just picked up this unlocked phone as my Samsung Galaxy 4S got water damaged. It's been 2 months using this phone and I am very happy with it. Comparing to 600-700$ + phones, this phone does everything exactly with just 160$ cost ! Phone performance speed : no issues, excellent. Usability: latest android version works awesome Durability: love the gorila glass and mat finished back cover. Dropped multiple times no issues, Glass is super cool I am not even using any cover, no scratches/issues so far even with very rough usage. Battery Life : still keeps wondering me, 2 full days without recharge !! Samsung S4 battery hardly worked for full single day! Camera: excellent result with both front/rear facing camera Only thing i faced is 8GB space, wish I had bought 16gb. Which keeps limited space for # of apps to be installed. Though I have 64gb SD card so no concerns or regrets storing my data. Highly recommended ,best value for $$$. I am not buying 600$ phone anymore ! Oh yes, this is water damage resistant phone ! washed it ones in sink no issues :) my wife wants to switch her phone with mine :)

Perfect Mid-Range Device For A Very Great Price

Went to best buy to buy a cheap low priced prepaid device for a temporary replacement until my upgrade next month. This phone is an Extremely good device for the price. It is GSM UNLOCKED, in other words you can use this device on absolutely any carrier on GSM NETWORKS i.e AT&T, T-Mobile, ETC. It can be used on Post-paid or prepaid service. I purchased the 8gb model with 1gb of ram with support for an additional 32gb of sd storage. The Phone build quality was much better than expected. Display is nice and it has an ipx7 water resistance rating and should be able to withstand full submersion in 1 meter of water for about 30min according to Motorola (Make Sure to always snap all the edges on the phones back panel when taking it on or off and be sure to press the edges near the camera, you should hear light popping noises as it snaps in place.) The main camera located on the rear of the device has a 13mp camera with Two Separate Flash Mechanisms for two tone color correcting the photo when it takes the picture, which ensures great photos. The Front facing (selfie camera) takes 5mp photos that are crisp and clear. The screen is a 5" Sharp HD Display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The touch screen is really responsive, which is nice. The back of the phone feels fantastic it is made of some type of textured back that feels amazingly soft yet very durable. The ABSOLUTE BEST Part about the device is it comes with no additional apps or software and runs complete aosp, with the acception of moto assist, the moto camera/gallery, which are absolutely great. Moto Assis provides features like make a chopping motion twice to turn on or off the camera flash as a flash light, or twisting your wrist twice to turn on the camera app. It Came With android 5.1 and will be updated to android marshmellow. Additionally for those who enjoy android development or like to mess with custom roms (Custom Operating Systems) and Mods, the phone is bootloader unlockable using motorolas bootloader unlock tool on their website) Ive owned ALOT of smartphones in the last few years -Samsung Galaxy S5 -Samsung Galaxy S4 Note -Sprint and Verizon HTC ONE m8 -HTC One M7 -Samsung galaxy Note 3 -IPhone 4s -Ihone 5s -Droid RAZR HD -Droid RAZR MAXX HD -HTC DESIRE 626 -LG THRILL -HTC EVO 3D -The 1st MOTO X Even With everyone of those devices costing much much more this might be my favorite phone to date. Really brings my hope up for the future of Motorola mobility now a LENOVO COMPANY.

I bought 4 of them, 2 online and 2 in one BestBuy Mobile for different friends and family. Couldn't be better and couldn't be happier. The cell phone has awesome characteristics that can be found in higher end phones. Dual led flash, 13MP camera with outstanding quality (of course, always taking into account the price of the phone), 4G and excellent performance. I just regret not having bought the 16GB version, with Marshmallow coming now and taking considerable space. I would recommend it to anybody that doesn't want to expend much more on a higher end cell phone. For day to day use and the eventual "selfie" and photos, it's perfect. The duration of the battery, even using 4G, is quite acceptable, but battery duration is something we have to deal everyday. 4G works awesome. Really, no cons since the price for this phone makes it of superb quality (don't forget it also has IPX7 to protect the phone from the accidental "toilet" accident and stuff). Really great. I don't have the time to elaborate on this baby. Get one if you look for a high end cheap phone.

This phone gives you a solid performance for the price bracket that it is in ($179 at time of purchase). Here are some things that came to my attention. The 13MP camera is good, not Galaxy S5/6 level but it will give other phones in the similar price a run for their money, videos are good at full HD (1080p) and the front cam takes good pics, FAR better than the Galaxy S5 in this part. It employs a dual-LED flash, neat. Screen is of the 720p variety and while not as sharp say the flagships, you will be hard pressed to see much difference, I found the screen to be impressively sharp and colors bright and accurate. Battery is above average, the hardware and the battery paired with it seem to go well together, a complaint is the charger is not a charger and USB cable but the charger is just that, the cable does not come out to be a data cable, just so you know. User interface, this took some getting used to, it is pretty stock Android so it can be good or bad for you, it does help the phone run smoother and the Moto G's tend to get their updates quickly, I think this is an overall pro than a con, tastes can differ on that though. Handling/build is very good,it does not feel like a cheap phone and the textured back can help it from slipping, the back can be customized with different colors later if you want. There is no notification light, not a major problem on my end but noticed it's absence. Overall, I have no complaints. Camera, GPS, phone and reception all seems good, highly recommend it, more so at this price and unlocked...no carrier junk software on it! I use this on the T-Mobile network and get 30'ish mbs on LTE in the Perrysburg Ohio area.

This was my first smartphone, and so far, I've been quite pleased with it. I was switching to MetroPCS, and wanted an unlocked phone. I went shopping around, and was originally going to purchase a $60 Nokia Lumia 635, but ultimately, I went with the Moto G 3rd generation, based on the decent reviews I was reading on it, and on my needs (Windows Phone can be limited in apps, and as a college student, I needed to be able to use Blackboard Learn, among other apps). I am quite satisfied with it, although I would recommend purchasing the 16GB version. My 8GB is quite powerful, and can work pretty smoothly, but sometimes it can get "stuck", if you are running an app like Spotify at the same time as some other apps, or while you are browsing a high-graphic website. It's not extreme/force stop inducing or anything; generally, if you close one of the apps and reopen it, you're good to go. I may still get a 16GB later, but regardless, it's a solid phone, and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't want a contract, nor wants to drop $500+ (Samsung and Apple, I'm looking at you).

Excellent smart phone for the price. Easy to setup and start using. I have T-Mobile and when I put the sim in it connected right off. I need to get more acquainted with Android as I had a Windows phone before. Love the way Android works compared to Windows. Only problem is no NFC otherwise very good battery life.

I've been interested in the Android interface for quite a while now. I jumped ship from an iPhone 4S to the Moto G unsure of what to expect. As a more advanced user of computers and games, the Moto G feels absolutely great to use as I can add more customization options than I ever could with iOS. Additionally, I'm able to better manage my files and what goes into the phone's storage than iTunes would allow me. Nothing feels watered down. Being able to add extra storage is also a huge plus as I can carry around more music with me. Apps and games seem to run well as I tested a few 3D games and played (and beat) the remastered Sonic 2. As a cheaper phone, this is great choice to use. HOWEVER, when I saw 8GB of storage, I expected at least 6GB to be available to use. Sadly the storage comes down to less than 5GB. Even adding a 32GB microSD doesn't help for downloading apps as apps will still take up room on the internal storage, even after moving the app to the SD card. Also there's the possibility of having the battery completely drain and then not being able to turn the device back on after charging (this was eventually fixed by holding down the power button for 20 seconds; but it required an internet search to figure out). If I had my way, I'd go for the 16GB model with 2GB of RAM as it's not that much more expensive and it would help alleviate the few problems I have with the 8GB model.

Overall I'm happy with the phone. Long lasting batter time. Very user friendly, perfect for people who are not very tech savvy (like me). I had T-mobile Prism android phone and even though the Moto G is also an android, it's very different than my old one in terms of the everyday functions. The thing I'm not happy with is the Text Messaging function. To send a text to various contacts in my old one I could select the contacts I wanted directly from my contacts list. With Moto G you have to start typing the letter for the contact you want and then it gives you a list for only the contacts starting with the same letter. It does not bring up the full list. Also, with my old one I could select the texts I wanted to delete from a specific contact. With Moto G you need to delete only one at a time or you can "Delete Thread". It does not let you select only the texts you want to delete. Another thing to note is that the phone does not have a Note Pad. But you can download a Note Pad application and problem solved. Regarding storage management, I like that it tells you how the phone memory and the SIM memory are allocated (with a bar using colors for each type of data, e.g. pictures, apps, etc.) and how much memory you have left on each, all in the same place. There is a function that asks you if you want to transfer your pictures and/or videos from your phone to the SIM card to free up space. My old phone also had these function but not with a color coded bar. The camera is good. Pictures are clear and of good quality. Overall the phone is good. I would recommend to a friend.

I bought this phone for my wife to replace her Samsung Galaxy 3. She was tired of her old phone always dying on her. She wasn't familiar with Motorola phones, but she said she would give it a try. After using the phone for the past 3 months, I can honestly say she loves it. I bought another phone for myself and another one for my son. I really like how long the battery charges lasts. My wife can get about 2-3 days on a single charge. I don't use my phone a lot so I can get more than 7 days on a single charge. My son is happy he finally has a phone that can keep up with all the social media features/apps he throws at it. I would definitely recommend this phone to anybody who wants a great phone, awesome battery life and still spend less than $200.

I've been using the 2nd gen moto g for a year before switching to the 3rd gen. With Lollipop and the updated camera software, this phone runs smooth, apps respond well, and the battery lasts all day. It only has 8Gb of memory, I sync the pics with a PC so i can free up memory. There is no bloatware, only some motorola apps. I highly recommend this phone

My contract with AT&T had just expired and I was looking to replace my iPhone4. I was really interested in the new iPhone6s, but had a really hard time convincing myself that $700 for a phone was a reasonable investment. I looked around at a lot of different options before being recommended the Moto G (3rd Gen). When I arrived at Best Buy, I was shocked to find that the price for this brand new phone was about 1/4 the cost of the iPhone without much difference in power or features. The camera works great, the interface is easy to use, and the 4G LTE is super fast. I couldn't be happier. This is a great phone at a great price. I doubt I'll ever go back to the iPhone.

The phone is manufactured in both a 1G/8G model and a 2G/16G model. Best Buy only sells the 1G/8G model, which is what I purchased. The phone seems to operate great, has strong/clear audio, crisp display, and a good camera. A quirk that I have is 'unlocking it' ....I obviously haven't learned the correct swipe - or tap - or wrist twist to be be consistant. (This is probaly a user error - not phone glitch). The phone came with a charge which lasted a 24 hr day+. After I charged it, it lasted for 4+ days.

My daughter owned the 2nd generation Moto G and absolutely loved it, so we were very excited for the 3rd generation model with 4G, which was her only complaint about the previous model. This phone exceeds expectations, especially at its astonishingly low price point. The camera takes excellent photos, and it is far better than the camera on my LG G Stylo even though both cameras are 13 megapixels, and the Stylo is about $150 to $200 more than the Moto G. The display is vibrant, and the speed and performance are solid. If you are tired of paying $600 or more for flagship phones, the Moto G is a comfortable alternative at a modest price.

My previous phone was a Samsung Note 4. This Moto G is a fill-in until the Note 6 is available. So far I'm very impressed with the Moto G. The interface is very intuitive. I purposely got the 8gb version as I planned on using my 64gb SD card for storage. Initially, the Moto asked to format my card. I expected that so I backed my card up first. After the format, the 64gb card works fine. In other devices as well. Opting for the the 8gb internal storage is not a wise choice if you are planning on purchasing this phone and keeping it, for 2 reasons. The first being that the OS takes up half the storage. That leaves less than 4gb for apps, etc... Luckily, I don't use a lot of apps so this works for me. The processing speed is good, the Bluetooth and WiFi are excellent - better than the Samsung, in my opinion. I haven't had any dropped calls but, ATT is good in my area. The speaker and music is good. Battery lasts forever and a day. I like mostly everything about this phone except for: The settings button is kind of quirky, to see the battery level %, you have to go into settings or download an app and to wake the phone, you have to press the side power button or download an app. Whatever on all 3 of those. They are minor but annoying. Other than that, this phone is a go.

I Love this phone! Purchased 2 of them on sale; one for myself and one for my tech savvy adult son. We have had them about 6 weeks now. I was amazed how fast I was able to learn to operate all the functions! Took me a year to learn to navigate my old phone. Takes great pictures, and I love the feel of it in my hand. Light, just the right size, has great volume/brightness options, reception is great, easy to send texts and postings, long lasting charge. We did both buy Otterbox protective casing, it is a little slippery.
