The Moto Z Droid is an awesome Modular phone that has the capabilities of becoming more than just a great phone. The Moto Z Droid has Moto Mods that can turn your phone into a Pico Projector, a JBL Speaker, and a Hasselblad Camera, You can also add other accessories like a power pack and stylish covers.

This is a great phone all around for me. I have had it for a month so far and here is what I have to say about it. PROS: It's fast, the camera takes great pictures, the thumbprint security option is convenient, my calls are clear, It's light and thin, the turbo charging is indeed turbo (it came with a turbo charger), the interface is easy to learn and similar to other androids, and the moto mod options are neat! I got a battery moto mod and I am very happy with the amount of extended battery life I get. CONS: The only downsides to this phone is that the case options are limited since it's so new and I haven't found a case yet that you can put on and have any of the mods attached at the same time. All it will take (hopefully) is time to fix these minor issues.

I needed a new phone, read some reviews, and came across this phone. I got a good deal on this phone around the holidays, and so I purchased it, and just started using it recently. So far I like it overall. It's a little bigger than my old phone, but pretty light weight and easy to use so far. It's going to take some time getting used to using a phone without the old/usual earphone jack. This phone comes with the adapter needed to plug in ear buds etc., I just hope people can purchase adapters by themselves in case they misplace the one that comes with this phone if they prefer to use earbuds versus wireless/bluetooth headphones etc.

I had read very good online reviews of the Moto Z, and the deal that Best Buy was offering was amazingly good. I was upgrading from a Moto X 2nd Gen, which I had always liked very much. The Moto Z continues everything that was good about the Moto X, but it is noticeably faster and snappier response, has a bigger and sharper screen, and is amazingly thin. I have had many people express amazement at how thin the phone is. I purchased my phone when the JBL speaker was being offered with it. I don't know how often I will use it, but the technology of adding the mods was pretty impressive. I will probably purchase the extended battery mod for when I'm travelling and taking a lot of pictures, etc. I did notice on my old Moto X that using the camera would chew up the battery in a hurry. I haven't used the camera a lot on the Moto Z yet, but it seems like maybe it is not as much of a battery hog. I am not on my phone constantly like most people, so I have yet to exhaust the battery during a day of usage, I think the lowest I've gotten is down into the teens percent by the end of the day. But I think it is pretty clear that if I was travelling and taking a lot of pictures, googling restaurants, etc. a lot, that the extended battery mod would be a must. Phone conversations are similar in quality or maybe slightly better than the Moto X was. All in all, the Moto Z seems like a very nice piece of technology. I hope Moto will have a lot of innovation on the Mods and not let it die out.

I am very happy with my purchase. I am a big fan of Android phones and upgraded to the Moto Z from a Droid Turbo. The phone has turbo charging and the battery lasts a full day with heavy use. Has all the same Moto features that my Droid Turbo had: Moto Voice command, chop for flashlight, twist for camera, etc. I received the JBL speaker Mod with the phone as a bonus from Best Buy and I really like the Mods feature and plan to buy the projector Mod in the future. It truly is just as easy as snap and go. Music doesn't stop playing and seamlessly changes to the speaker. Only thing to consider is that the Mods will only work when your phone is bare (no case). I find that I little annoying because I would not recommend owning this phone without a protective case. It is just too thin and so sleek it feels slippery to fall out of your hands. Overall, this is a great phone that I am very happy with and all the features it offers. Fun to show off to friends and co-workers!

I got a great deal on this phone by extending my Verizon contract for another 2 years. I have been with them since 2001 so staying with them was not a tough decision. I am amazed at the performance of this phone and camera......super fast, great battery life, even when I recorded videos, superb still pictures and videos......I could not ask for a better phone. Absolutely no complaints or regrets.

I had to update from a Note Edge when it stopped working. I probably would have stayed with the Samsung Notes but we all know the story with the Note 7. So I started looking at other options. I really considered the S7 but I decided to give the Moto a try. What drew me first were the mods especially the battery mod. I really like to have an extra battery around but since that is becoming less available on phones the fact that I could snap on a battery case was a big plus for me. The second thing I really liked is the fact how thin the moto is, without any of the mods of course. The phone performance is great and I haven't noticed any significant difference between my old Samsung and this one. Obviously this is quicker since it's two years newer. Like with any new phone there are some things that I miss and some things I like more. I don't think the camera is as good as Samsung, but it's still good. The moto does have an SD card slot so most of my pictures music etc moved over nicely. I haven't had any problems with calling or signal. The size is comparable to the note just slightly smaller but I haven't noticed a difference. In all I'm happy with the moto. I think anymore the "flagship" phones are more similar than different so it was just a matter of getting used to a new UI. Honestly if Samsung didn't have their problem I would have just got the Note 7. The Moto has been a good phone so far and while at times I miss the Samsung environment those moments don't last long. In the end I feel the Moto is a good alternative to the Apple Samsung dominated market.

Bought the Moto Z Force over the Moto G 4th Generation and glad I did.! Have had many other phones but this one tops 'em' all!!! It's quick, slim, has all the memory I need and can add more if I want, takes excellent pictures, quality sound, easy to use ,so what's not to like about it? Bottom line, can't say anything bad about it because I haven't found anything bad with it. So, if you want a good phone, get the Moto Z and you'll be glad you did.

I use to be a Motorola guy when the first razor came out. Then I went to Samsung for the Galaxy 3. The Moto Z hands down is one of the best feature packed phones. I was always a LG an Samsung buyer. The new Moto Z Droid is a great phone. Great operating system with few bloat ware apps. System is very fast. It's how Motorola has setup the system not just the processors. Camera on the phone is good considering the pixel level. Fast. Crisp pictures and has great features to taking photo. Charging on the phone is crazy quick. 18 minutes from 20%to a full charge using the turbo charger. The battery life great on the phone. I am heavy app user and I use the phone for business. I can go almost a full day on a charge. I have not used the moto mods... But am planning on buying the extra battery mod for when I am traveling. I would highly recommend this phone. I am now a Motorola Moto advocate.

I purchased this device when they were half off on a device payment program and man it is way worth the full price I could've paid. Let me start by saying that this device although having one of the smallest batteries out there for 5.5" device is one of the best and longest lasting. I thank the latest Android updates really. Also having USB C this device charges insanely fast. One draw back though would be the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack but it's bothering me less and less. It comes with an adapter that allows you to plug in headphones via the USB C port and since it has a great battery life I found myself not being to charge my device at the same time as listening to videos or music with headphones. Beautiful display, a very nice stock Android UI and not to mention Moto mods (attachments that allow you to add awesome features to the phone) this phone is the whole package.

This is a great alternative to the Samsung/Apple saturated mobile phone market. This phone is still on par price-wise with either set of phones, however. Pros: Excellent camera. 21 megapixel camera as opposed to the standard 12 megapixel camera with other phones. Long battery life. Shatter-proof screen (but not scratch proof, which is a con - you WILL need a screen protector). Cons: As mentioned, the screen is easily scratched, so a screen protector is a must. Cases that I've purchased will only work with the phone itself and must be removed to use mods. Mods are very bulky. Mods (other than the extended battery) eat battery power like crazy. No water resistance (keep away from all sources of water).

I've used Samsung phones for many years and have generally found them satisfactory, but each had its annoyances. Well, I got the new Droid Moto Z. It is the best phone I have ever had. Sound quality of the calls exceeds any of the Samsungs. It is easy to use. Features are easy to find and are intuitive. The features work as advertised. Voice recognition is surprisingly good, exceeding expectations. The camera quality is excellent, again, exceeding my expectations. It's got a good sized screen, but it still fits in the pocket. It's very thin, but seems durable. I haven't bought a case for it, but am considering it. I can't find anything annoying about it! I don't know why there are so many good deals for it. Get one before everyone else finds it and the rates go up!

I went to a Verizon store to upgrade my son's phone since he broke it, and we found this phone. I personally like the appeal of the diversity of the mods, so we went ahead and made the purchase. We also got the extra battery mod, which has proven to be very useful. Well, I couldn't take my son having a better phone than me. I happen to run across a Best Buy ad for the same phone, but a much better deal, so off I went. I got the JBL speaker mod for free, along with a $200 Best Buy gift card. Now I wish we had gone to Best Buy first. Overall, this is a great phone, great camera. Very sleek and stylish. Kind of slippery when I'm holding it. This can be resolved if I put it in a case, but I really do not like phone cases because they make it too bulky. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because the battery drains a little too quickly. I have to keep the display down to about 30% to keep the phone charged all day. I guess that's why getting the extra battery life mod is a good idea. Since my son and I both have the same phone, we can swap our mods whenever needed.

I have both the Verizon version and the unlocked Moto Z on AT&T... this review is for the Verizon version. While both phones are fairly identical, the Verizon version received an upgrade to Android Nougat right away. Also, can't beat the price promotion that Best Buy was running at the time, it was simply a no brainer. I missed a prior promo that offered mods with the phone and the subsequent promo where the phone was even cheaper. No regrets however, with Nougat this phone's battery lasts and lasts and it's very smooth. Bloatware from Verizon is the only downside. I recommend a good case for the outside and a tempered glass screen protector and you'll be good to go!

Given the incredible deal I got on this phone, it's card to complain. But there are issues. The good: big, bright, clear display. Incredibly thin phone. Fully-featured with fingerprint sensor, SD card slot, fast processor, good camera. The camera is good; it's no Pixel or iPhone camera, though. Far better than my aged Nexus 4. The bad: wifi bug, mediocre battery life, Motorola customer service. The phone regularly disconnects from wifi, saying "network unavailable" and then immediately reconnects. This problem is unique to this phone; no other devices in the house do this. This may be contributing to the battery problem, but I think they greater issue with the battery is the screen size and phone thickness (or thinness, as it's the thinnest phone on the market, at the expense of battery life). Contacted Motorola about the wifi issue, and my choices are to send them the phone, wait a week, and receive a refurbished/used unit that may have cosmetic defects (scratches); or, pay $25 for a new replacement phone, sent in advance of my required return (and buy a new $10 glass screen protector.) This is for a phone that is 30 days old. That's a lousy product warranty in my opinion. For a screaming deal that I got, I'll live with that reality. I'd be very upset if I had paid full retail for these issues.

Best Buy keeps running great specials on this phone and I highly encourage you to pick one up. However make sure you take some of the money you save and add some mods. First off you will want a battery Mod, and I highly recommend the Incipio OffGrid which adds 2200 mAh to the fairly low 2600mAh that the phone comes with out of the box. Next up if you can swing it grab yourself the pricey, but amazing projector mod. The phone itself gives you a nearly stock Android experience, but adds on some very nice features such as chop for flashlight , twist for camera, Moto Voice, and Moto Display (the best ambient display in the history of planet globe. As for weaknesses, there are almost none, which is actually the greatest strength of this phone. To nitpick, to keep the phone so thin ( making room for the Mods) the headphone e jack was eliminated. However this is no big deal to me as a nifty adapter is included that lets you plug in conventional wired headphones, and spares can be grabbed for a couple bucks if you check for them. Also as mentioned before the battery is fairly small, likely once again to keep it thin. As also mentioned before just grab the Incipio and then whenever you need it, this can snap on extra power that together exceed the battery life of any mainstream smartphone.

I love my Moto Z Droid phone. It's the best Android phone I've ever had. The battery life is amazing. It doesn't overheat like other phones. And it's super fast, and there's little or no bloatware on it out of the box. Plus, Best Buy was awesome on how they got it ready for me . It only took about 20-30 mins to change over to it, and that was on Black Friday with most of their computers acting up.
